I had surgery 6/29 and laughing hurts. My hubby keeps forgetting and makes me laugh. I feel like I should yell that line from Who Framed Roger Rabbit? "One of these days you're going to die laughing." HW-292 SW- 256.6 CW-256.6

So it'll be three months in a week for me lost 40 pounds so far... didn't get my period this month and have no reason not to get it. Is this normal? Of course going to mention to my doctor but wanted to see if anyone else experienced this.

Omg the best mush ever. Never underestimate your ability to chew. Mine was scrambled egg with 1 oz goat cheese, 2oz homemade turkey sausage, cilantro, salsa. So amazing. Ha but it made a lot and it appears it is going to take me all day you eat it. And I'm freaking go with that. what was your first soft meal?

I am almost 15 months post op and 93 lbs down. I went through a program that included an amazing Nutritionist (NUT) who has been a fantastic source of information for me during my journey. I still see my Nut every 2 or 3 months and don't see that changing in the next few years. There is so much information out there that is conflicting and out dated that I love having one central point of contact to keep me focused and on the right track. Do you see a nutritionist? If so, do you find the meetings to be helpful? Just wondering how many people are using this method to continue learning on their journey.

Hi All -- I'm getting ready to book my surgery. I've had a long-planned vacation at a beach house with a very close friend this summer. I'm thinking about timing the surgery to be about two weeks before I go. Would I be able to take walks on the beach at the point? Get out and about a bit? Thanks!!

So I am 5 days post op and had to take my son to a drs appointment. How do people deal with trying to just digest fluids, because as soon as we are out and I take a sip of anything I need to use the bathroom and not for urine Is this something that gets better? I am afraid to leave the house and I am also exhausted and did minimal today.

Hey ladies! I wanted to get some opinions or hope someone has had a similar issue... At my highest weight of 404.8, I never used to get a period. Went and saw my OB thinking PCOS was a possibility.. She ruled that out because really my only symptoms were my weight and irregular periods.. did tests and testosterone was normal. so no PCOS. my periods were simply irregular because i was too fat. put me on birth control, got a period every month... I had surgery on October 31, 2016 and that was the last day I have taken birth control. after surgery i was in too much pain to care about the birth control and after the anesthesia wore off I decided to just stay off of it to see …

Sorry if this has been asked on here. I looked back and couldn't find any recently. I am 3 weeks post op and just started eating pureed foods. I have had in the last few days multiple time where I have had awful sharp pains in what feels like the top of my stomach after eating. Feels like I have trapped air under my food and I need to burp but i can't. Almost feels like the food is stuck in the top of my stomach and it is super painful. I have had to make myself throw up to get the pain to go away. I currently use Gas X strips and tabs to control the gas in my stomach. I seem to burp fine when I am doing broth's or liquid soups, but as I move into thicker foods I a…

I'm on the protein only phase and I've been doing great with that and my water but today... today I was starving. I ate very 1.5 hours, sometimes every hour. I didn't eat much as I can't handle more than a few ounces but I can't believe how hungry I was. I have been burning more calories at the gym and it is that time of the month (TMI, sorry), but could that be it? This is the first day where I want to eat and eat and eat! On the bright side, I made good choices and didn't eat carbs or bad foods. Thoughts? Thanks in advance!

So I live in Orlando FL and have annual fast passes to every theme park here, I'm a roller coaster junkie, anyone else? Also probably where I get most of my exercise walking around, haha but My question is how long after surgery before you were able to go on coasters again, also does it become different I'm like almost scared that after surgery I'm gonna become motion sickness or something like that also how do you control yourself not to wanna snack at all the places these theme parks have to eat? Any tips on this? surgery is in 1 month from today! So I'm hitting up the parks as much as I can this month!

Ok so I am post op day 3 and I was put on anti nausea meds this morning, because I am having trouble keeping liquids down nevermind protein. I have just started with sips of warm decaf tea and trying coconut water. Not a fan, but I don't want to end up in hospital for dehydration. Any helpful suggestions I am feeling extremely upset and get out of bed for a few min at a time, but I'm dizzy and have no energy?

Hi All: I was told by my psychiatrist that my Cymbalta for anxiety and my Bupropion for depression will not work well or perhaps not at all after surgery. I was alarmed by this. I know you often can go off of meds like cholesterol, diabetes meds, etc. but these are necessary meds for anxiety disorder, depression, asthma and thyroid replacement therapy. During your post-op experience have any of your medications stopped working? Thanks!

Hi everyone! So I've creeped along the forum for some time now, but have never posted anything. Well I just had my Sleeve done June 28th, and today is my first day home. I'm suppose to drink 2 protein shakes a day, and I'm struggling. I've drank 1 and it took me almost all day, but this second one is killing me. If I tried to drink this and finish it, I think I will be up all night long. I also have to drink my water to get the 2 liters a day. I know everyone's diets post op are different, but what if I'm unable to finish it? I'm going to try, but I'm nervous I'll be unable to. The thought of doing this all over again tomorrow and the following week is making me so nervou…

I know that sugary sweet stuff is out forever more or it will cause dumping. Anything else? I'm ok with saying goodbye to say candy bars or sweet cakes and cookies. But what about other things? Two things that keep worrying me are: 85% dark chocolate, which I like to nibble on like others drink coffee. It gives me a little wake up boost. Also, spicy foods. Can we add chopped jalapeño to anything, ever? Little things like that I just don't want to say goodbye to. Anything you can never eat again because it causes dumping or pain or vomiting? Give it to me straight.

I'm home now and have been on clear liquids all day. I didn't throw up at all when I was in the hospital, but I just started throwing up now. Is this normal? I hate throwing up and now I'm in so much pain! I used to settle stomach with room temp ginger ale obviously that's not an option. Any suggestions?

Ok, my surgeon said some people complain of left shoulder pain after surgery, he told me why but I can't remember the exact reason for it. He says gas x-strips won't help for that. I'm just curious to see how many people experienced that pain? Now I'm more worried about that than the incisions. I do have a heating pad packed just in case but if you had it what helped it go away?

First off, fake sugars like sucralose and aspartame to me are actually poison and not food. Fake colors, neurotoxins as well. So those are out. So when after surgery I will be allowed sugar free popsicles, I was thinking I could maybe have a frozen fruit bar, natural, no fake stuff. But fruit is sugar. And a lot of these commercial natural fruit bars have some added sugar but the total sugars on the nutritional info are low . It is hard to find one without added sugar, but one brand I found with "juice only" advertised, has more sugar per nutritional analysis than other natural bars that add a bit of sugar. So what is acceptable? Thanks.

My surgery date is July 5. I need to go ahead and buy my daily vitamin, calcium vitamin, and some protein powder. What brands/flavors do most of y'all prefer? My NUT has recommended powder brands Unjury, Isopure, Inspire, or Nectar. And where do y'all order it from? Thanks in advance and sorry if there's already a post about this. I may not have scrolled far enough to find one.

Hey everyone, I'm looking for some advice/support with regards to my eating habits and dealing with a stall. I'm 9 months post op VSG and I had my surgery on Sept 16th 2016. My highest weight ever was 310 pounds, my surgery consult weight was 285 pounds, and I was 265 pounds the day of surgery after the pre-op liquid diet. I'm now 183 pounds for a total loss of 102 pounds since my pre-op liquid diet, and 82 pounds since the day of my surgery. My goal weight is 150 pounds and I'm 5' 7". Now I'm not new to stalls at all - I've gone through every stall in the book so far. I've had major stalls at 3 weeks post op, 1 month post op, 3 months post op, 6 months post op,…

Hi all! I have the sleeve on 6-21-17. I do not have a history of high blood pressure. Usually mine is well within the normal range. After surgery it was high and continues to be 140/94 it hangs around there. Plus my pulse it higher than normal. I called my doctor and was told not to worry and that they will monitor it and I should be fine. What could be causing this? Can dehydration cause HBP? My doctor checked for leaking and I am all good. Any thoughts or feed back is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Mel

I'm 5 days post op and since surgery I have to keep a cup near me so I can spit into it every 5 mins. Its this weird foamy stuff. Doesn't seem to be coming from my stomach. I"m on Nexium. I had to go get fluids today because I was getting a little dry and the nurse said she only sees that with sleeve patients. Its definately not vomit. SO WEIRD! Anyone have input? Thanks
