So I'm in the middle of week 4 post op and I seem to have hit a stall for the past 4-5 days. My weight bounces around the same 2-3lbs which is a solid BM and some water weight by my guessing. I'm not too worried as I keep reading stalls are part of this. I moved into purée and since then my loss has drastically slowed to this stall. Not sure if I should blame it on that or not. But has anyone experience this this early?

So I had surgery July 14th, 2017 and I was 228 lbs at my heaviest and a day before surgery with the cleanse I got down to 221 the next day (surgery day)....crazy. lol Today I am 206...I've been 205-206 for like a week now...Per my doctor, I'm on a liquid diet for a whole month so I have another 11 days...I"m dying lol...I drink as much water and liquids as I can, get protein in and stuff but for some reason...this stall isn't breaking. Like hellooo I'm not eating, you figured I'd be losing weight right? lol My question is --- did this happen to you all post surgery and what did you do to break a stall and when did you start seeing the scale move down again? …

I am a low BMI loser so my weight has been the same, same 2 lbs up and down daily. I should avoid the scale, but it's right there, so... I've got that, I see what I'm eating so I know long term I am on the path. just now I looked at my upper arm and wondered if it was my imagination that it was smaller somehow. So without looking at my pre surgery measurement, I measured generously my upper arm. An inch less than my pre-op measurement! What???? Wow. So I did my smallest waist measurement which is right under the boobs. Again, was generous. Two inches less than my pre-op, what?? I swear I was fair on the befores, and generous on today's. now I am NOT…

I am almost two years post op. Everything has been great! I met my goal weight at 8 months post op. Ive maintained the weight. I haven't had any serious problems post op. 3 days ago I got the feeling of something being stuck in my throat and under the left side of my rib cage. I have constant dull stomach ache. When I eat or drink it gets much worse. It's got me a little more concerned since it's not letting up. So my question is should I contact my PCP or my weight loss dr?

Good morning, all! When I began my initial research on getting the Sleeve, I read many stories where relationships failed. I swore I "we" wouldn't be one of them, but it happened. Later seeing it was the BEST thing done, other than the surgery. I began to wonder how often that really happens. Who I was when I met my ex, is nothing compared to who I am now. I was dead within and allowed myself to settle for many things and that included a very broken and unhealthy relationship, goodness. We both were very morbidly obese and when I began to desire more for myself and my health, he started to resent and even attempted to sabotage my successes. After my surgery, he "…

I was sleeved on December 17, 2016 and had bad pain in my belly button area about 2 months ago. The pain continued for 3 days and on the 4th day a little pus started oozing out. I checked with the surgeon who performed the VSG and he asked me to get an abdominal scan. When I got the scan done, I was informed that there is a small secretion (later found out that the stitch in the belly button had not dissolved and was weeping, thus the pus) under my belly button and I was informed about gallstones as well. I finally underwent a gall bladder removal surgery June 22, 2017 and it is now over 40 days since my 2nd surgery in 7 months. Since a week I am having slight pain i…

Hi Beautiful people, I have a question and need a little advice. I had bypass in Dec 2016 at first things were rough and I was getting sick 3 to 4 times a day. They went in April and stretched my opening a few cm and haven't been sick since. I am now noticing that I am able to eat a lot more. I can finish a full breakfast sandwich and I was able to eat a whole piece of lasagna. Last night I had a sloppy Joe sandwich without the top bun and I was still hungry. Any one able to eat more this soon out? Just feeling nervous that I am eating to much. Thoughts!!!

I'm 4 days post from my gastric bypass and I'm having the hardest time with fluids. When they released me they said my upper GI test was clear. Now that I'm home when ever I drink water or protein juice/shakes it's leaves me in such discomfort. It feels like I swallowed rocks and they just sit on my chest. They make me feel like I'm so full even though I take the tiniest sips. I also don't know how much fluids I should consume in one day. So far I've been sipping a small amount of broth and the premier juice with protein cause the regular protein shake was so harsh on my stomach I was in tears. I could use all the advice I can get thank you in advance

I'm 2 months out - down 30lbs since surgery - fantastic [emoji106]-- it's not overly hard, no pain, but it's just no fun - I hate cooking, I certainly know how to cook, I just don't find any enjoyment and avoid at all cost -- so having to be constantly trying to learn new recipes, then to find out, ptewwwy taste buds have changed and another gross meal --/ what a weird journey, but definitely no regrets - I'm so looking forward to seeing me thinner -- just not having much fun right now [emoji850]

I know this sounds strange. But I watch documentaries online of 600lb people eating greasy food. ( not fat shaming at all, i am still fat just to be clear) But watching it helps me remember why I did this and what could have happened if i carried on how i was , and to stick to the plan , im 4 weeks post op. I find myself watching these all night , I never used to do this. Does anyone else do this?

I just had the gastric sleeve procedure done yesterday (July 31) and my shoulders are killing me from the gas pumped into my abdomen. I was told my shoulder my be sore afterward, but I wasn't expecting it to be this bad. What's even worse is my diaphragm from being expanded for so long. Did anybody else experience this? Is there anything you can do about it?

Hi, I know this is a forum for post-ops (and congrats to you all!!). As someone who've gone through this, I was wondering if any of you have any advice. I'm doing the food tracking. I've been doing great with writing everything down. Weight loss has been dripping off slowly because I think I'm battling my statin meds that I read adds to weight gain. I was doing 1400 for a couple of weeks but a friend who's all fit and was able to diet her weight off told me that I was starving myself and that was why I wasn't losing weight. I upped my calorie intake but still didn't lose weight. I'm exercising aerobically (first time in my life!) every day- gone from 10 min to 15 min (pal…

So I am 3 months post op. I have not been able to eat or drink much since surgery. I had a hiatal hernia repaired at time of surgery. My health is not good I literally have been vomiting daily four to five times or more a day and I wake up daily with Herat burn. I went to se an GI Dr. He did an exam and said my sleeve is too tight. And I was dehydrated. He helped me with the hydration. My mouth feels like someone stuffed it with cotton it does not matter what I do I am super thirsty and cannot quench it. This morning I got up and ate a tad bit too much honey dew melon thinking it will quench my thirst and dry mouth. But it didn't. I feel sick. Help me please.

...so today, I told my mother in law that I was having WLS and getting sleeved Friday (28-Jul). She told me to save myself the recovery and just stop eating french fries. Where was that helpful information all along?!?!?! LOL In all seriousness, I am in the process of getting approved for time off after my surgery and the short term benefits manager at my company literally told me that if I utilized the work gym, I wouldn't have to take time off to "deal with this now". Seriously, WTF people. Its hard enough making the decision I made, so not very thankful for the peanut gallery! I am trying to stay positive and blocking out all the judgy comments. I …

My humidifier tank on my CPAP is leaking. Until the replacement comes in I have been waking up so incredibly thirsty. I actually have to drink a liter of water the first hour and a half I'm awake before I feel better. Even with the humidifier on I'm thirsty so this is terrible. It even wakes me up in the night needing to drink. HW-292 • SW (6/29/17) 256.6 • CW 240.8

Surgery yesterday, and my swallow test went perfectly this morning. My doctor says "you're maybe even a little ahead" (I've been doing laps around the nurses station). And who knew that chicken broth would taste this good?? And who knew that I'd be in a place where I hadn't eaten in 30 hours, and a few spoonfuls of broth were good to go? Who is this person? Just...WOW. I was really worried about eating so little food with that driving, desperate hunger. I get it now, though. Bye bye, Hungry Monster!

I'm 2 1/2 months PO. I'm losing great (down 80lbs) , but as my diet progresses I'm struggling to feel confident in my diet. I would love to hear your guys' thoughts on my average meal size. Typically it's around 2.5-4 oz of meat and then 1/4-1/2 cup of veggies. Sometimes I'll do 1/4 cup of veggies and 1/4 cup of fruit. I stay under 700 calories a day, and hit around 60 carbs, and shoot for 50g protein. My carbs only come from my protein, fruit, and veggies. No bread or grains or processed foods. I can eat this easily, though I definitely feel satisfied after. Does this average meal seem like to much at nearly 3 months. How's the calorie intake-too high??

I just had my surgery 2 days ago and yesterday I was able to get all of my fluids and no problem. I was walking around every hour and got sent home. Today I woke up feeling super full and bloated. Just by looking at my stomach it's very swollen which I'm sure is to be expected. But I am struggling getting my water in today. I have been sipping on the little medicine cups but I feel like I'm going to pop. I'm also having an issue with my eyes focusing when I look at my phone or any writing on paper. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Sent from my SM-G935T using BariatricPal mobile app

Hey all, So my question is this: I work in a laboratory where I am not allowed to have food and liquids (or cosmetics, or basically anything ingestible or that goes in/ near the face). Only higher ups have offices across the hall where they can eat and drink at. I asked work for an accommodation so I could have a desk I can drink at but it seems like it's becoming a big deal and was asked how long hydration will be an issue. My work knows I've been ill and I actually had a surgery prior to my sleeve but only a few people know about the second surgery because most people don't have sympathy for bariatric surgery. Anyone been in a similar situation or have tips/ …

Just wanted to give a shout out to see how everyone is doing at 3 mos out. I am down 50lbs!!! Went to a baby shower yesterday, couldn't decide which outfit I wanted to wear as opposed to what I had to wear. Lots of people who haven't seen me, have to admit it was a lot of fun to mingle and socialize as opposed to sitting at my table and trying to be invisible until it was over. Went to the beach last Sunday with hubby, its been 13 years!!! Attended a concert and danced in the aisles. I haven't enjoyed summer in years, life is fantastic would love to hear from everyone!

I had the bypass surgery done June 28th. About a week after I started having issues with drinking fluids. Whenever I drink and it hits my stomach I'm in severe pain. No matter the amount or temperature it hurts so bad. I have gone to my doctors office 3 times already to get iv fluids because I have been so dehydrated. The second trip I went straight to the er from the doctors office. Anyone else have this happen to them and what did your doctor say? My doctor scheduled me for an endoscopy for this Friday. I was supposed to have been back to work 2 weeks ago and just haven't been able to stay because of the pain.

Hi, My understanding is that water/fluid goal is 64oz/day, and that in the beginning fluids should be taken in 1oz increments every 15 minutes. That's 16 hours of drinking every 15 minutes without fail. I'm barely awake 16 hours a day. How is this possible? Am I missing something?

So tired. Five days in and I have to admit I'm getting bored. Everything is just dandy as far as healing process goes. I took the dressings off of my incisions yesterday and they hardly tickle, to be honest I forget they're there. My stomach still feels a little inflated but it's not uncomfortable. I can drink (water, coffee, hot chocolate/cacao) and eat, (soup, yoghurt, purée, very smooth porridge) freely. That said I don't really want to. My appetite is minimal, which I'm relaxed about, and the only tastes (rather than foods) I do crave are savoury. Unsurprisingly I would be willing to sell my soul for a slice of hot buttered toast. I don't feel any great sensati…

Wanted to post this just in case others were wondering about French Onion Soup. So I'm in week 3 and got tired of the typical chicken and beef broths so I decided to have french onion soup broth. Tasted great and went down just fine. But omg I am paying a price today. My stomach is very angry right now! I have a lot of discomfort and pretty bad reflux. Drinking lots of water to try to keep myself hydrated and flush it out of my system. Note to self, stay away from anything onions for a few more weeks!

I know there were quite a few of us getting sleeved on the same day so i wanted to check in on you all and see how it went? Would love to use this thread to thread to document our progress! I'll start: SW: 222lbs Day of surgery: 213lbs Surgery went well. They fixed a hiatal hernia and sleeved me. Went in at 7:30, woke up first at 10:30, walking by 2pm and out of the hospital by 4:30. They gave dialuds (sp?) for pain management and i was able to get water and broth in pretty easily. At home I switched to liquid hydrocodones and they're helping but not a lot. At rest my stomach doesn't really bother me, but when i try to eat something it hurts. Even to drink the medication…

So today I'm 1 week post-op. Last Friday at this time I was just getting out of surgery and miserable. Today, I just finish walking 1 mile around my neighborhood. I just want to thank this page for all the tips that help me prepare and be fully educated about this process. I have been reading everyone's post on do's & don't since Sept last year and attribute such a smooth surgery and recovery because of this group! Anyone getting ready for this journey don't be afraid to ask questions...There are no dumb questions!

So I'm talking to a couple of people that are close to me about the surgery. I sworn I wouldn't tell anyone but I think these people deserve to know. Anyway they were talking about did I start adding more squats and weights in my workout routine? I said kinda but not really why do you ask. They told me I was going to lose my figure and have to build it back up. I don't think that's true but then again I don't know I never lost more than 20 pounds in my entire life. Had surgery on the 28th, came home yesterday afternoon and made a lasagna for my family (which my husband loaded into the oven because it was too heavy), went to bed, got up to tuck kids in and read a bedtime story, went back to sleep. My youngest was crying this morning and I made the mistake of jumping right out of bed, which lead to letting the dog out, which lead to running interference so the dog wouldn't go after that one chicken who won't go into the coop at night, which lead to my 2 year old opening the door and letting our indoor cat out. It was all very stressful and I hadn't yet taken a pain or nausea med as there was no nice nursing staff to wake my up at 2AM …
