I'm three weeks post op and I've lost about 20 pounds. I try not to weigh myself daily so I don't get discourage but I noticed my weight seemed to stay and then I gained a pound.

I haven't changed my diet or cheated.

Is this normal ?

Am I doing something wrong ?

You aren't doing anything wrong except perhaps weighing in too frequently...

When is the last time you lost 20 pounds in 3 weeks via old fashioned diet and exercise? I'll bet top dollar that the answer is "Never." You're doing wonderfully.

For comparison, I lost 15 pounds the 1st month, 12.5 pounds the 2nd month, and an average of 3 to 7 pounds monthly thereafter until I reached my goal weight. Some months I only lost 1 pound. It took 17+ months for me to lose 100 pounds.

Weight loss with a sleeve doesn't occur in a linear pattern. Don't expect daily losses. Our bodies lose a few pounds, then hold onto a few pounds with occasional stalls and plateaus before losing again. At times the scale displays a bigger number than the day before day due to Water retention and/or hormonal issues.

You're doing well. Now stay off the scale. :)

I'm 3 weeks post-op today. Down 22 lbs. determined to only weigh on Tuesday and Fridays only. I think the key is to get in appropriate amount of Water and Protein. I also am spending some time on the treadmill throughout the day.

Good job and good luck!

This Friday makes three weeks post op for me. I've lost 16 lbs since surgery. A day before surgery I Lost 7 lbs so total i've lost 23...but really only 16 lbs since surgery. But I just think to myself there's no way I would've had the will power to lose that before the surgery. We have to remember that this isn't magic. It takes time, hard work and dedication. Slowly but surely we will lose the weight.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
