Omeprazole works well to help prevent acid, Tums works well to deal with acid when you already have it. I'm sorry you're not feeling well. Good luck!

I just had my surgery 7/19/17, I'm on full liquids and tonight I think I'm experiencing acid reflux...any suggestions on what to do?

Does your surgeon have you on an antacids? Thats usually the norm right after. I take a 24 hr prevacid. I still have the feeling of indigestion but its usually in the few hours after I take the antacid and lasts for about 5 seconds on and off? We were sleeved the same day.

Are you throwing up and feeling naseaus?

I buy Nexum which is over the counter now. Works like a charm.

Be careful with acid reflux meds. I just saw a commercial about potential kidney problems. There's a lawsuit out. I was sleeved one year and 5 months ago. I still have bad acid reflux. I started back using TUMS. I was using Prevacid but after I saw the commercial I quit.
