So I'm 7 months post op and I still do not have the will power to stay way from chips. I started eating them again about 1-2 months ago and if I eat too many they make me feel sort of crappy, but I keep going back to them. Does anyone else have trouble with junk food?

I've been having a problem with severe nausea following my vitamin. I'm 10 days post-op. I tried taking it at night but then couldn't sleep. This morning I was feeling great until I took the vitamin then had to run for my Phenergan. I don't know if the issue is trying to take too many pills too close together. Trying to swallow them too fast. Drinking too much water, etc. I have to take the multi vitamin, pepcid, metformin, and a hormone pill. Is that too many to take in succession? I loved meat, prior to June 27, 2017. I am a really good cook also, not to toot my own horn, but I really am. I had gestational diabetes with my second pregnancy and did so good that my daughter was born at 6 lb's 3 oz and no fat around her neck. But after surgery my taste buds have changed that nothing taste good and meat is just disgusting to me. I can add sauces, chile, veggies, I gag every time and can only get around 3 bites down. I can't stand eggs or bacon for breakfast. Chicken taste like a game bird to me. Beef, it's the consistency now that grosses me out and I can taste the blood. I am 8 weeks post up and I'm at my wits end. Does this taste bud thing go away? W…

I am three days post op and these gas pains are bothering me so much. Does anyone know how long these pains last for? Also, my stomach is so sore and hurts every time I get up. Is anyone else having or had this problem?

  6. Started by Deegil,

I had surgery two days ago and the only sign is the gas. I am sipping clear liquids and have no problem with it. I'm not hungry, not in pain, don't feel full, walking around and burping a lot. I thought I would be really full if I sipped on my liquids but not. Is this normal?

Hi gang. Sleeved 7/31/2017. I'm struggling with trying to find stuff I want to eat during the soft mushy stage. I'm a week and a half in out of 4 weeks and while I started with tuna salad and turkey and chicken and fish, I am now grossed out and nauseated at the thought of eating any of that stuff. Can't bring myself to eat chili any more and even cheese. Weird since last week I was okay with all of that. I am craving a salad so bad but don't think I can have that, right? Any suggestions? Even creamy soups are grossing me out.

I'll be 5 weeks post-op tomorrow and since my gastric bypass, I've had a lot of difficulty keeping my Rx meds down. I cut them in 1/2 when possible and take them slowly with as little water as possible, but they bother my stomach so much that I throw them up. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Any suggestions? Thank you!

  20. I feel so silly for even posting this concern, but one of the main things holding me back from having weight loss surgery is the constant vomiting of mucus I keep hearing about ☹️. One person I know had the bypass 13 YEARS ago, and till this day, sometimes throws up after meals. One day she can tolerate a certain food and the next time she eats it, she can't. Another person had surgery 2 years ago and still vomits. I mean, is this the norm?

I have my 7 month old and I have people for three weeks to help me with the baby after surgery. After that I am on my own from like 9-3. I will try to do most activities on the floor but if I have to lift him for his nap will it be ok by three weeks after surgery. Only lift for like naps and that's it. He is 22 pounds. I am nervous because i can't have people take off for 4-6 weeks to help me. I am already paying someone for two weeks and one week I have my husband. Anyone have this problem any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I'm new to this app, and have a question that I'm kind of nervous about asking. I am currently on the pre-op liquid diet and am going to be sleeved in 11 days! I'm very excited and motivated to start my wls journey. I just recently moved to Southern California because I'm starting school here in the fall. All of my friends are in Northern California and have no idea that I'm having this surgery. I was wondering at what point, post-op, were you able to have a drink? I am by no means an alcoholic, I'm just a 21 year old girl who loves to have nights-out with her friends. Fortunately for me, all of my friends live 6+ hours away so I won't be seeing them as often. My urine output is getting less and the last time I checked the color was teetering between dark orange and brown, my skin is dry and I'm weak and get tired and winded easy which is not normal for me, also my mouth is very dry. So these past two weeks have been a little rough for me. Wednesday the 23 will be two weeks post op and I'm just praying going on to week 3&4 it will get better with food. I'm just so tried right now and I feel like crying and I need to see where the light is. I don't even care about the weight loss. I see my doctor on the 23rd but I'm over this right now. 36. Had surgery August 1, all went well and surgeon fixed a small hiatal hernia at same time. I've had no real pain and for that, I am very thankful. I am still extremely week! One week out I saw PCP and tests showed I was anemic(no surprise) and I had H-pylori-stomach infection. Until then I was able to get liquids in and close to 90 gr of protein. Put me on 3 meds for two weeks to get rid of h-pylori, Now I can hardly stomach anything. Very difficult to get liquids in. I can eat mashed potatoes and gravy, pimento cheese, and today, cottage cheese. Liquids make me sick but I'm trying to get down.....protein shakes are a no-go! I do put unflavored protein in everything I eat.…

I've started to notice people, particularly males, acting differently toward me. Going out of their way to help me. Being asked out on dates. I find it very bizarre. This is something I hoped would happen, but now that it has begun, I realize I have exactly zero experience at handling it. I have never been thin. I used my fat as a literal barrier to keep from forming relationships. So, I suppose I would appreciate advice from those who are/were in a similar situation. Does it ever get comfortable? How do you reject someone in as nice a way as possible? How do you not accidentally flirt?

Did anyone bring or take GasX thin strips to the hospital? Do they work? I hear about a lot of people taking that for Gas pains but I can't seem to find them anywhere. So far wherever I checked they only had the chewables or the gels. Does anyone know where someone can get these from? I am getting sleeved tomorrow and would like to have them on hand in case I need them.

I am getting in my protein and water and have set a timer to remind me to eat every 3 hours. I handle liquids, yogurt and some mushy foods with no issues. I will stop when I feel at little pain at the bottom of my stomach. That might be my "full" but I can't say for certain. Since I am unsure about being full I am portioning out 1/4 to 1/2 cup per meal (depending on consistency). This might sound stupid but I'm not sure what my body is telling me I need. I know when I would feel like this pre-sleeve I would eat …

HEy this may be a bit TMI but I was wondering if this is normal or if i should call my doctor I have an appointment in 3 days. I've had bowel movement since day 4 after surgery today is day 6 (i'm on a clear liquids diet so not even protein shakes just water, jello, broth) i figured nothing solid would come out since all i'm getting is liquids but is it normal that i go to the bathroom at least twice a day and it's all diarrhea? (i was like this before i went two or three times a day with no problems) I'm concerned i'm not retaining any liquids, I'm not feeling sick, my stomach doesn't hurt, I feel pretty normal except for this. I'm sorry this is TMI

Hi all- I have a quick question. I am nine weeks out. Starting weight 255, surgery weight 243, current weight 217. I lost 12 lbs on two week pre-surgery diet. Lost 16 lbs post surgery. And lost 8 lbs second month. I feel like this is slow but I wanted to hear feedback from you all if possible?

  50. I am amused at how my mind works. I am not a super modest person, especially not in a medical setting. If it is your job to look or poke by all means do! And consenting to surgery is much more intimate still, involving a huge leap of faith in your care providers, but I had every reason to and did trust my surgery team. So, what is the detail that I keep getting squicked by? As part of surgery, they shaved my belly! Mind you, this is totally reasonable and appropriate. I don't remember anyone telling me this would happen, but it is not the level of procedure I expect briefing on. Yet somehow my brain keeps going back to being weirded out that some "stranger" shaved…
