Hellooo, I just wanted to pass on some POSITIVE energy to everyone struggling and too scared to mention it on this app or to anyone who just needs POSITIVE feedback. It's OK to mess up and it's OK to stall, whether you believe in yourself or not I believe we'll all get to where we want to be !

So I'm just over 2 months post. Down 72lbs as of this morning. Feeling amazing. However I am noticing that with my diet being open to whatever food I want, at work I find myself often bored and grabbing a handful of nuts, or a couple 5cent candies, or some jerky or or or or or.... Before I get the keyboard heroes telling me about this cardinal sin in weight loss. I am still loosing weight drastically (roughly 1.5 lbs a day atm), my calories even with the snacks sit under 1200cal daily. And I'm likely overthinking it... I guess I'm asking how some of you with slower jobs/desk jobs handle the old habits like this? My go too is sunflower seeds which keeps me busy …

Has anyone's surgeon given them a calorie goal? I can hit 500-600. Is that too much? I am still on a full liquid diet and really enjoy the tomato soup. I usually have 2 cups throughout the day and 1 premier protein shake. I get to 45 carbs a day. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

I am on my third week and I am on puréed foods. Everyone has been telling me to try the ricotta bake. I made it tonight it tasted like heaven but after 3 bites I was sick. It was sitting in my chest and I felt like throwing up but didn't. Why would I feel like that if I was allowed this and I don't know what could have hurt me. I'm disappointed the one thing that actually taste good and I get sick. I feel like I will never eat my favorite foods ever again. I am so upset!!!

I know we all gauge pain differently so it's a semi tough question, but I guess I'm asking, what you had sort of imagined mentally vs. the real pain, how did it compare??

I am pre-op, sleeve to be done late Oct or early Nov. Hey everyone, I was sleeved Aug 30/17 and have had nothing but a rough go since. My pain in hospital was not well managed and I also had a large hiatus hernia repair as well as a bunch of adhesions removed. All of my bowels were adhered together and to my abdominal wall as well as my liver flipped upwards and adhered to the abdominal wall. So, needless to say there was a lot of work done. However, I now am post op day 6 have an awful sharp to dull ache under my left breast all the time and I don't know what to do about it. My MD thought it was just air trapped but its not, Ive been up walking and taking gasx to help with whatever I can. The pain seems to increase whe…

I'm about a week post op (9/5/17) and I am feeling hunger pangs- or what I think is hunger pangs! I'm on liquids right now but I don't feel completely satisfied, I desperately want to eat at times, I would kill just for a grape! Uhggg. I was under the impression my hunger pangs would be non existent after surgery, but that's not the case for me. How did you deal with hunger pangs so soon after surgery? I also feel like I am able to drink too much too fast. I can finish a bottle of premier protein within 20 mins. I am mindful of pacing myself but I feel like my stomach can handle a lot more liquid than I should be able to? I'm just really paranoid of stretching my stoma…

So, I was down a solid 40 pounds in 6 weeks. Awesome. I've had lots of complications, still having swallowing issues, but I've been walking daily now and I know I'm keeping my calories down and I probably am NOT getting in enough protein. But that aside I was typically dropping a pound a day, at least most days. Since June 12th, 16 days ago, I've not lost a single pound! I've gained 2! I read postings on here that this is a simple stall and it will pass and I appreciate having access to all of you for support. However this is freaking me out! Here's what I know about stalls: -Everyone has them -They are often a natural "famine" response that your body has in reaction to rapid weight loss -It's not what I'm eating at this stage (one month out) because I couldn't possibly eat less! -I need to be more careful with drinking water -Weighing myself everyday doesn't help -It doesn't matter what I know, stalling makes me crazy!!!!!!

Then an hour later I had some sugar free fruit Snacks 30 mins later I went and got subway (multigrain flat bread) I have only eating half of the 6 in. Any ideas on what I can do? I took the pain pills, sipped on 1/4 cup of milk but this pain is not going away. It's Sunday so I will need OTC meds. Ideas on what I'm feeling and how to stop it?

I am not complaining! I appear to be a slow loser which isn't really a surprise with the amount of problems I have getting my Synthroid to absorb. I was just wondering if there are any ways that other have found successful to boost their metabolism. I was sleeved 8/28 and will be on liquids for one more week. I get between 500-600 calories a day and have no problem getting my water in. I try to take a 2-3 mile walk 6 days a week. Thanks!!

Hey guys so I've gotten sleeved on 9/5 and was discharged on Thursday. I'm home now and no major pain complaints my one problem is that I cannot get the 64 ounces of liquids down. I can barley tolerate a few sips at a time and when I try to drink more than I can tolerate I get extremely nauseous and have to deep breathe in order not to throw up. Swallowing anything at all causes me stomach pain and I've no idea what to do. Any advice would be greatly appreciated[emoji18]. Also is it ok to take gas x soft gels or is it strictly strips ?

So I am 10 days out (which I know isn't far out) and I am in more pain now, then when I was in the hospital. I saw my Dr today and he said it's normal. I can only walk a little at a time and standing after a min or 2 it feels like someone is stabbing with a sharp heated knife. I have to find my breathe and I get lightheaded. I have a very high pain tolerance so to me maybe something is wrong. I think the fact he acted like I was seeking pain meds pissed me off the most. I told him I am almost out of pain meds he gave me, just to show that I have had to take them due to the pain. I didn't want more even told him so. My dad was with me and he was very upset with the…

First of all, SO glad to have found this site. I had my gastric band op 10 days ago. The first week was excruciating in terms of trapped air, nausea, post op pain but now recovering well. I am currently on a liquid diet - concerned as I am supposed consuming liquid like soup, protein shakes, milk etc but have only been consuming water and tea. The first few days I had some yoghurt and soup but developed a repulsion i.e nausea to anything milk based. Prior to the op I purchased an lot of high protein milk based shakes just for this phase but have touched a single one. - Should I be worried? Especially with the emphasis placed on 'high protein' consumption? - When entering…

  35. When I first had surgery, two sips of water made me feel like I'd eaten Thanksgiving dinner. Slowly I could drink more, but even a week ago I had that full feeling after 2 oz food. And I have been slowly losing nicely. I am trying to keep my calories around 800 until 3 months and raise them to 1000 at three months plus add more exercise. Sometimes lately I go over, to 900 or 1000 cals already. Still losing some ounces each day. Now I am scared it might come to an end. I didn't have carb cravings until now, just a shaky feeling that meant "I need protein." For the first time last night, I got a crab craving or a sweet tooth. I tried to fight it by eating some…

All of the paperwork provided to me from my provider says no coffee or caffeine. Not just at one stage, but all stages. I understand that during the initial weeks of healing (maybe) coffee might cause a problem. But it is expected that I an never have coffee again? I drink my coffee Black - no cream, no sugar. Granted, I used to drink a lot of it - but I've been sleeved on 8/23 and am craving for just a few sips of my delicious beverage. I'm curious as to the roles coffee and caffeine can play on the success of this surgery. So few questions: 1. Why no coffee? 2. Why no caffeine? 3. If allowed, when can I start having it again? *Agai…

I had some issues with portion control, I then found out using a small plate for the main course (steak, fish, etc.) and two small 4Oz Ramekins to hold your side dishes helps a lot, that way you don't concentrate on filling the plate and the ramekins give the illusion you're getting a lot of food.

  48. Anyone else start out having no issue with fluids, like water and start having trouble down the road? I have been able to drink without issue since surgery but in the past week or so, fluids - especially water is very hard for me to get down. I feel nauseas immediately after drinking more than an ounce or two at a time. I was able to drink 64 oz a day easily before, now struggling to get in half that. I am not having much of a difference in what I can eat food wise, seems to just be relative to fluid. Just curious if anyone else experienced this....
