So my two weeks post liquid diet is almost over thank god because I been struggling. For the food process what do I eat to try and get to 60 grams of protein a day. I feel like only eating 8 ounces is really hard to get 60 grams of protein any suggestions? I need a list soon going to the store Monday or Tuesday. Tiffani[emoji1528][emoji757]️[emoji175]

I vowed I would do this alone without signing up to support groups - not for any other reason than a false sense of "I've got this!" Well , day 5 post op - "I ain't got a thing!" and I'm full of so many questions, uncertainties and mixed emotions. [emoji22][emoji20] If someone could please give me some guidance I would be incredibly grateful...I don't want to do this alone... - I don't know what hunger is anymore? Am I hungry or is my tummy just making weird sounds? - Friends/associates said that couldn't eat/drink anymore than 100ml in one sitting..why can I? Will I be the first this has failed for? - Still feel sore and weak.. is this normal? - How do I know if I'm full…

I'm three weeks out. My main proteins are grass fed organic whey powder (no sugar no flavor) mixed with milk or water. Two days ago I started getting a dizzy nausea bad vision shaky feeling after just having a hand ful of sips of my protein drink. Been drinking it exactly the same two or three times a day since just after surgery so this reaction is new. I tested the milk, didn't give me that feeling. Tested the protein powder in water, yesterday, and got that same low blood sugar kind of reaction. Very unpleasant and started to give me the start of a migraine. anyone had this reaction to whey? Also why so out of the blue? AND HOW DO I GET ENOUGH PROTEIN?…

Hello all- I had RNY on 7/31 and have been doing great! This past week has been miserable and I actually called the after hours number for advice. The resident told me they were contacting the doctors and I'd hear back. Anyways, the past week after eating solids very slowly and chewing it up to applesauce consistency, I have been having the worst pain between my breasts as if it is getting caught. Although painful, I can deal with that. About half of the time I am very nauseous and then throw up clear slimy stuff and then feel better. Right before the vomiting I literally can not spit spitting. It wasn't happening with drinking, but after the last vomit episode, i feel …

I'm going for my first consult so I am new to the process, but I'm curious to how you felt before and after surgery? I've read a lot of articles about how people's lives have changed for the good or the bad. Do you think these changes would have happened regardless of surgery? I think the surgery will be good for me but then I have my doubts afraid it will change me. Is this normal?

Hello all, I had my sleeve done on 08/09/2017 (so almost 2 weeks ago), and I can't have anything other than water. In hospital I was able to drink soup, milk, juice and protein drinks fine (I didn't come close to finishing any of them but I could stomach them). My hospital stay was extended to 5 nights instead of 2 because I got the flu post op. I was able to go home on Monday today is now Saturday and i've had nothing but water, since being home everything makes me feel sick, no matter how tiny sips I take. Today I have been forcing myself to drink an optifast protein shake but even a 5ml sip of it makes me feel queasy. I see my Surgeon in 2 days for my 2 week…

I'm 13 weeks post op and really struggling. So much so that I've been wondering if my surgery was a big mistake. I still struggle to eat. Most things make me nauseous, and I vomit more or less every other day. I don't feel hungry at all and I have no appetite or desire to eat food. I suffer with GERD symptoms. My weight has dropped dramatically, 3 stone in 13 weeks. I have fainted and my blood pressure is very low. I can't get the nutrients that I need. I went to a different country to have my surgery and I've spoken to my surgeon since who says everything I'm feeling is normal? I take my iron tablets, vitamins and I've had my b12 injection. I would like to start exercisi…

What can I bring in? I'll be in there for up to 4 hours, in a major arena. I expect there is nothing I can eat, so I need to bring protein drink / powder to mix with water / anything else? I'm sure they won't let me bring in my great metal shaker to keep things cold, which I understand. So hopefully my plastic shaker (with metal shaker ball??? Hope I can keep it) with one drink made with powder for another one in the screw on tub. What have other sleevers done? I'm in soft foods stage but not very good at it yet.

Just about every time I take a drink of anything(water, G2, broth, creamed soup, jello), I've tried small sips and slightly bigger ones and it still happens and I try not to swallow air which I don't think I do anyways, I get a horrible pain when it hits the stomach, it feels like it gets stuck and then it goes down, the pain sometimes is so bad it radiates to my back. I did have a hiatal hernia repair during the vsg surgery and my follow up is tomorrow with my surgeon so I will talk about it with him then but I was wondering if anyone one else had this problem 9 days post op? Oh and I do take 100mg of tramadol and it doesn't do anything to the pain.

Hey Guys I'm almost 2 weeks post op, and let me tell you it's been a journey already. I still have a horrible time taking any medication let alone my vitamins & protein ? Ha ! Yeah it isn't happening. I'm super weak and I'm starting to feel like I'm bruising like certain spots on my body hurt as well as the shortness of breath, I could be washing dishes and I get winded. I did a CT Scan and thank god no blood clots, but at this point I don't know what to do.

I'm on my 3rd day post op. Only had a little nausea yesterday. I had a lot of pain up until today. Today it just comes and goes which is a lot better then the past two days. I do at times feel like my stomachs is cramping or contracting so to speak. It kinda grips me for a minute then disappears. Hopefully this will end soon. I am able to hold down most liquids which I'm thankful for!

Alright folks, need some feedback please. I'm almost 2 months post-op, and I'm taking opurity multivitamin, and their calcium citrate, all chewables. Thing is, it's hurting my teeth to chew these things now, and I'm looking for great alternatives. I think it's the citrus, or citric acid. I don't have any other teeth issues, (food or liquid) and I can drink oj. I'm wondering how this Liquid vitamins are, and if anyone has suggestions on either of these. I'm considering Citracal petites capsules. Has anyone else had these teeth issues from chewables??

This was not the happiest of Halloweens.... someone smashed my back windshield in with a 2x4 (Random act of vandalism), some guy tried to buy my friend's car with gold, (It wasnt even listed on Craigslist!) and too many other little things in between to mention. Just bad bad bad. On top of all of that I hadn't eaten. Just drank some Water throughout the day. Which seems useless now because urinate only once or twice a day now. We walk in at 9pm exhausted from a day from hell and Trick or Treating with the kids. We have nothing for me to eat because I usually just grab something from the grocery store every few days bc I dont know what I'll want or can handle yet. I was mo…

I'm curious if anyone else has this issue that is still in the very early post op. I can't shut my mind off, it keeps telling me that I want S'mores, Popeye's Chicken (dark & mild), steak, burgers, pork chops, just everything, ESPECIALLY fruit. Tues I was moved forward on my menu to stage 2B & was able to add eggs (1 large egg per serving), ricotta (1/2 cup per serving), cottage cheese (will NEVER come in my house LOL), string cheese (1 stick at a time), rotisserie chicken (3oz, which I learned is too much), I was told that I'm not taking in enough protein & that I'm not taking in enough water. I'm doing the best that I can, that's for sure. I d…

Hi friends, My surgery was 10/28/16 and I've done really well! Starting weight was 345 and now down to 255.... I recently moved from NY to Florida and the big move has had me stressed. I have been fluctuating between the same 5 pound mark and I need to get past it. I've seen on here some people do a pouch reset? If anyone could tell me how that works and any tips, it'd be much appreciated! -Chris

I had my surgery last Wednesday, 8/9, and thought I was doing great. No trouble hitting water/protein goals until yesterday when I started to feel really sick every time I drink anything. I get hot, start sweating like crazy and feel like I'm going to pass out. I had to start taking phenegrine again every 4-6 hours to keep anything down. I also have no energy and go back to work tomorrow. I don't know how I'm going to make it. I fall asleep if I sit still for more than a few minutes. Has anyone else had this problem with hot flashes & nausea? Is there anything that helps? I had a post-op follow up with surgeon's office today and they blew it off. I ha…

Hi Everyone, Thought I would get on here and see if anyone else is in this boat... I am 5 months post op from VSG surgery. I am 5 ft. 2 in. tall, my starting weight was 291 lbs, I am currently 230-232 lbs. I have been stalled for over a month now, gaining and losing the same damn 2 lbs. I am starting panic and worry that this surgery didn't work for me. My total loss for 5 months out is only 59-60lbs... I see people 5 months out down 70-80 or more lbs. they don't seem to be struggling the way I have been. My weight has been a struggle for a very long time, as I am sure most of on this forum has struggled, However, I am frustrated thinking I did all …

Today seems to be a much better day. I had to have a blood transfusion last night, which definitely helped with my fatigue. I kind of knew my surgery would be risky. I have a genetic blood clotting disorder, and I take a blood thinner daily. In preparation for the surgery, I had to switch to a shorter-acting medication so that I wouldn't bleed as much during the surgery. But my hematologist started me back on the thinners on day 2 post op. Apparently, that's what caused the massive internal bleeding. So, when they do start the thinners again, I'll be hospitalized just in case I start to bleed again. It's all very tricky because I had a massive PE (blood clots in my l…

I got sleeve done 8/4 and about since Sunday I haven't been able to get in any protein in. And water maybe about 8-12 oz the most everyday. Since then I noticed I wake up nauseous and go to bed nauseous. Sometimes it's all day. I don't know if it's because I can smell food and I can't tolerate the smells any more-it just makes me want to throw up constantly. I even experienced gagging and almost throwing up but since my stomach is empty nothing ever comes out. It's horrible. I'm getting worried and scared. I don't know what to do. Water, Powerade zero, and even my protein powder shakes make me sick. I can't drink that much because I feel sick to my stomach. Seriously thin…

I'm 6 weeks Post Op as of yesterday and I don't feel like I am eating anything anymore. I can't stand chicken, which I used to love. Beef is alright but still hard to get down. Eggs make me gag, I used to love my veggie and cheese omelette every day pre-op. Now eggs make me gag no matter how they are cooked. I CAN'T STAND BACON!! Tried a piece on Sunday and it was disgusting to me. I need protein but everything I eat makes me nauseous unless it's vegetables. I can't live on cucumbers and ranch alone. Anyone further out than me who had the same problem early on?

I am currently 9 days post op. I have been hungry since the day after surgery and I'm not just talking head hunger. Liquids have been no problem to get down from 3 days post op forward. Just a little while ago I ate an entire cup of sugar free jello with no issues and I still don't feel "full". I do feel satisfied though. I am just worried that I have done something wrong? I am on full liquids for 2 weeks and I have stuck to that. The only things I have had are sugar free jello and sugar free pudding.

Got sleeved on July 18. Is it normal to always be starving and never satisfied after a meal? Tonight I ate 8 ounces of zucchini boats. Sliced in half zucchini scooped out then stuffed with turkey chop meat and the scooped out zucchini some spices and tomato sauce. I feel like I didn't eat anything that's how hungry I still feel. Is this normal at this point? Anyone else feeling like this or am I the only one?

Hi. I was wondering if anyone could advise me on how i can prepare myself to support my partner before and after his gastric sleeve op in 5 weeks time. He's having the op due to being diabetic. He is only slightly over weight. He's not able to do as much sport and training and is keen to get back to a similar level as he was a few years ago. So, what kind of support have people found they needed? Was it more about being able to talk openly to your partner about how you feel? Were there mood changes? How did you keep yourself motivated those first few days after the op? Any tips or ideas are greatly appreciated.
