I can't get my liquids in ??

Hey guys so I've gotten sleeved on 9/5 and was discharged on Thursday. I'm home now and no major pain complaints my one problem is that I cannot get the 64 ounces of liquids down. I can barley tolerate a few sips at a time and when I try to drink more than I can tolerate I get extremely nauseous and have to deep breathe in order not to throw up. Swallowing anything at all causes me stomach pain and I've no idea what to do. Any advice would be greatly appreciated[emoji18]. Also is it ok to take gas x soft gels or is it strictly strips ?

Keep trying with the liquids. Different types, different temperatures, etc. You might find something that goes down easier. You must keep working at it so you don't have to go back for dehydration.

And yes, on the gas x. If you can swallow it, it's fine.

I was sleeved 9-5 also. I cannot get my protein in at all. I do feel a bit weak, but can do my water with no problem. I've tried broth for the first time today, and it is so much better than trying to do the protein drinks. I tried my vitamins for the first time last night. It was a complete fail.

I had a hard time with my water and protein the first week I am currently 12 days post-op every single day is easier. I had to switch things up alot what saved me was sugar free ice pops, and vitamin water 0 the lemonade kind.... anything that you can get it just keep taking very small sips --- Hope you feel better sooner

Jackie, you're five weeks postop, and you still have trouble getting water down?

What does your doctor say about that? Are you on any soft solid foods yet?

Do you drink any protein shakes?
