  1. So last March I fell skiing and got a nasty concussion. Finally after one year I am able to function again. After hospital stays and med adjustments I gained 40 ibs. I am finally back on track. I am back to walking 2-3 miles on days that it’s not raining and I don’t have a nasty migraine. I cut out all the junk food and finally eating right. I usually eat 3 to 4 ounces of food and am full. I am 3 yrs out. I have a follow up with my dr via phone appointment tomorrow. Has anyone tried and succeeded on weight loss pills? I am thinking about mentioning it I just have no idea how to ask to try them. I am hoping it is going to curb the fake hunger. It’s all in my head bc if I try to eat more I get sick. I am hoping he will go for it. Does anyone have any suggestions?
  2. I know it’s very important. I am disappointed in my self and I hate being a letdown to everyone. I know I shouldn’t let it get to me. I am going to call this week. I kept telling myself I was going to get back to basics but I am just having a hard time with it. I work in an office and the cafeteria is right across the hallway. It was so much easier before I started working again. I am going away this week so it will be easier to get back on track.
  3. So I know I will need to have the excess skin removed from my stomach and a breast reduction. I went from 285 to 165. Surgery date was Aug 29th 2017. I have been lucky bc I am on my Mom’s insurance. Unfortunately she is retiring in a yr and a half so I will need to get it done before then. I haven’t heard of Medicare covering it all like my Mom’s insurance would. I didn’t pay anything to have the sleeve done. I know I won’t be that lucky again. I have stalled the last couple months to the point I canceled my one yr follow up. I haven’t gained but I haven’t lost either. I am going to go back to the beginning to get the sugar out of my system and I need to get back to the gym. I was walking 6 days a week but I started a new job that is stressing me out and doesn’t work with my hours. It was so much easier when I wasn’t working. Sorry this turned into a rant. At what weight did you all start consider plastics? I know I still need to lose at least 20 ibs if not 30.
  4. Thanks everyone. I will have to try ice. I have been using a heating pad. I expected a lil bit of pain but nothing like this. I took Tylenol and it didn't even touch the pain. I am just going to have to deal with it. If it gets worse he will be hearing from me. When I go to my next appointment I will definitely be bringing one of my parents. Let's just say his mood hopefully will be better.
  5. So I am 10 days out (which I know isn't far out) and I am in more pain now, then when I was in the hospital. I saw my Dr today and he said it's normal. I can only walk a little at a time and standing after a min or 2 it feels like someone is stabbing with a sharp heated knife. I have to find my breathe and I get lightheaded. I have a very high pain tolerance so to me maybe something is wrong. I think the fact he acted like I was seeking pain meds pissed me off the most. I told him I am almost out of pain meds he gave me, just to show that I have had to take them due to the pain. I didn't want more even told him so. My dad was with me and he was very upset with the way I was being treated. He even stood up and told him the amount of pain I was in bc he clearly wasn't listening to me. My dad asked what else I could take bc I don't want the pain killers. Then the Dr said that he isn't going to write me a new script and just take Tylenol. He must have said I am not writing you a new script 3 times. I was in tears when I got out to the car. All I wanted was to make sure everything is ok. I was fine with Tylenol. He was just so rude and didn't want to listen to what I was saying. All he did was push on 2 spots on my stomach. I am worried about it and have the right to ask about it and tell him what I have or haven't been able to do. I hope things go better at my next 1 month follow up. Has anyone else been in a lot of pain (not due to gas pain) but actual muscle pain? If so what did you do to help with the pain? I am willing to try anything. I am not regretting it yet but if this pain keeps up I don't know what my thoughts would be.

  9. I looked at the Withing scale but it's even more than the Aria which is on sale at Best Buy. I am going to check out the Beurer and Taylor. Thank you all so much. My old one was a 5 ib difference within an hr. Then it just died.
  10. So my old scale no longer works. I was wondering if one is better than another? I was looking at the Aria, but no matter what scale I looked into there are mixed reviews. So was hoping maybe someone has a suggestion.
  11. So I purchased isopure unflavored to help with getting my protein in after surgery. I haven't had surgery yet, and I am hesitant on opening it till I hear what others think and maybe if there is something better out there that is unflavored. I wanted to mix it in jello and soup and whatever else I can come up with. If anyone has any feedback on the isopure or any suggestions that would be great. Thanks
  12. So I wanted to go to Atlantic care but it's out of network. My mother works for Virtua and refuses to let me see one of the drs in the practice but I was thinking of seeing Dr. Wasser. It's fully covered since she works for the hospital but that is not a reason to pick them if others have had bad experiences recently. There are other Drs in the area that are in network, Virtua is just convenient. I was also considering Kennedy healthcare near the lindenwold speed line, I think it is Dr Marc Neff (Not positive on the spelling of that) He isn't Virtua preferred but in network. I was looking on here scrolling through old posts and I haven't really found anything current about Virtua other than stuff from 2013 or older. So if anyone has any suggestions I would love to hear. Thank you so much Kristin Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
