  13. I am so tired of the protein powder but without it I am only getting about 47 oz of protein. I can't eat more than two oz of food at a time. I am tell growing discouraged because I can't seem to get all my water in, I can only eat 2 oz of food at a time without it feeling like the food is at the top of my throat, the multivitamin makes me sick & the list goes on.

  17. Hello fellow August Sleevers. Hope everyone is doing ok. I was sleeved on August 10th and started purée on 8/31. 1. How are you all managing to get your water in daily? 2. How much food are you able to get down? When I eat I feel like my food is sitting at the very top of my throats only after eating 2-3 bites. I don't know if that means I am full or if my stomach is still full of air. What are your thoughts?

  19. You're more than welcome. There is another product you can get at Sally's beauty supply name aphogee two step protein treatment to help prevent hair breakage. I used it a couple years ago when I over processed my hair. I don't know if they have changed it or not but I didn't like the smell and the way it made my hair feel but I worked. Google it and see what you think. I am African American and my hair stylist said letting the hair air dry is not good but she didn't elaborate as to why.
  20. I think you just summed it up perfectly. I didn't cry but I was mad at the world for letting myself gain so much weight, for letting my health get out of control and having to have a procedure like this to help me lose weight. I got so tired of protein shakes and soups. I was trying to do things by the book provided by my doctor and potatoes weren't on my list. Finally I just stopped eating everything with the exception of popsicles and looked forward to phase 3. It was hard but now I am on purée foods and not sure I am doing it right. Not sure if I am full or it it is gas. This all is just a confusing process.
  21. Please don't take this the wrong way but have you been to a dermatologist? To me it sounds hormonal. I had to have a hysterectomy a couple years ago and was thrown into adult acne. I break out around the jaw bone area. My dermatologist told me that is the area where you break out when it is hormone related & the hair could be related to a high level of hormones. I think you should make an appointment with your doctor to get your levels checked. Also, the bumps I got hurt and itched.

  25. People are sometimes a buzz kill because they're jealous. When I went through the multiple appointments to get to the procedure I told the PA one of my fears is not being able to eat the things I love. I love McAlister baked potato and shelf salads. She said you will still be able to have the things you love but in moderation. The key to making this tool a success is moderation, exercise and just making healthy choices. It is a lifestyle change and we can't pick up all our bad habits but we can treat ourselves once a week. I plan on enjoying life on the weekends and taking care of business during the week. I was sleeved on 8/10.

  27. Below is the link to the YouTube video I watched where she talks about the protein treatment. A protein treatment is a product you can buy at a beauty supply house, Walmart, Target or Sephora. I hope this help. I haven't made it to that stage yet but I am very nervous about it. Let me know how it goes.
  28. Everyone I have talked to said it is from lack of protein. I did a little research on YouTube and one lady said she started doing protein treatments on her hair and it stopped the breakage. So, prior to my surgery I talked to a hair stylist who specializes in the health of the hair and she said protein treatments. I started them prior to my surgery in hopes of saving my hair.
  29. Which one do you take, how many a day and around what time? I was taking nexium but not getting any better. She was originally going to give me prilosec.
  30. So I have a purée food update. I was really hungry the first day. I am guessing because I was coming off the liquid diet where I wasn't eating anything I was extremely hungry. Couldn't find a soup I like, couldn't and still can't get down four bottles of water, sick of the protein shakes, etc. those 21 days I was hating life and second guessing the decision I made. Now I can't even eat 2 oz of an omelet. After the second bite I feel my food sitting in my throat. I am from one extreme to the other.
