I kind of thi k yes on the calcium as I dont see any in the list, however it says vitamin D. I've taken the vitamin D before, but it said D3. Thank you!

  7. Hi! I know that we are supposed to wait at least 30 minutes after eating to drink anything. However, does this rule apply to our small amounts of purees, too? Now that I started purees I'm not getting in enough fluids, because of the waiting.

I'm full to the brim with cold and up at 2.15am UK time cos I can't sleep with temp, blocked nose, dry throat from mouth breathing, upset stomach and starving cos I've been up about 4 hours longer than I allowed for with food and drink. Also feeling a tad sorry for myself...did you notice? Carbs will be thru the roof as the idea of meat, fish or eggs is...well...offputting right now. Crackers all the way. But did do 2250ml Water by bedtime. Guess I came here for.sympathy but also to say you should remind me of this if I start fretting about a stall :-)

Just curious of any long timers that do Ketigenic diets. My nutritionists says they do not recommend it for bariatric patients. I am curious if anyone does the Keto lifestyle and if it works. I am 3 1/2 years post Gastric Sleeve and need to lose more weight. Any thoughts? Sent from my SM-G935V using BariatricPal mobile app

  15. Started by nomorefattypatty,

I try to get in at least one scoop of protein every day along with high protein foods. Recently I found that after mixing in my protein powder with my greek yogurt and let it set for a minute or two allows the protein to absorb into my yogurt or cottage cheese lessens the taste of the powder. I also add some stevia. It's a nice tip just thought I'd share my experience.

  20. I'm trying to decide how much oil to add to my tracker for my restaurant meal. I had about 2 oz of seared shrimp and less than 1/4 c. of charred broccoli. Clearly there was some oil involved. I'm thinking 1TBL is too much, but would rather over count than under count. Does that sound about right? Thanks!

I'm used to using Sweet N Low in my tea, but my dietician doesn't recommend that. Their suggested sweeteners are Stevia and Just Like Sugar. Anyone have any experience with those? Which do you like better? Especially in tea?

Do you still drink shakes? And which, aside from premier protein do you love most? Brand and flavor please...[emoji106]

Does anybody know of any good cookbooks out there for Bariatric Eating that already have the Nutritional info and Macros listed in the recipe. My biggest downfall is tracking. If it were just food items, it would not be as bad as creating recipes to find info needed to track.

  28. Just checking in with the nutrition folks to see if I need to challenge this. Now 7 days post sleeve and no pre-op nutrition bloods. No post surgery nutrition bloods, and told no supplements needed unless test at 6 week appointment says so. Rationale: your body likely has 6 week's worth stored up. That's fine, except if you start with deficiencies, which I almost certainly do in vitamin D and otherwise due to no ovulation for 3 years. I trust my team, but I want to verify whether folk think this warrants a call. Paranoid about bone loss after being denied any kind of useful help with my PCOS and cycle issues.

Hey all! New to the site, joined today. I had my first appt with the surgeon on 1/15/19. i have a long list of things to get checked before the surgery. I follow a lot of fb groups and IG people who have done WLS and I see the pre and post op diet of broth and Protein Shakes and Jello. Ive been vegan for 2 years- I’m wondering what you guys used in place of broth and jello? I have ordered a few kinds of Protein Powder (most are only 21g per scoop/serving as opposed to 30g per whey Protein scoop). so I am a little concerned but hoping to find my way.

I just tried Built Protein Bars and they are the best I’ve found so far! They taste like a chocolate bar! I haven’t cared for any of the other ones I’ve tried ,so I am very happy to have found these ones. They sell them at the BP store on this site. Check them out!

  32. Has anyone tried IDEAL PROTEIN products? Good, bad, or blech? Worth the $$ or not? Any specific favorite products? Do they follow bariatric patient guidelines (high protein low carbs, low or zero sugar)? I'm still pre-surgery, getting my "homework" done; I don't have sleep apnea (yay), still pending are the two nutrition classes, cardiologist visit, and psych evaluation, then I'll be able to meet with a surgeon and get a surgery date

Has anyone tried the vitamin patches? I'm concerned about taking pills and digestion. I wondered if anyone has tried the patches and how well they worked? Have you had your levels checked to see if they are truly providing what our bodies need at adequate levels through absorption.

I am now exactly 1 month post-op (vsg)and slowly trying new foods. I pay attention to the nutritional information on all of my foods, trying to ensure I'm eating well. I look for foods high in protein, low in fat, and even lower in carbs. I document EVERYTHING in Myfitness Pal and I'm steady around 480-525 calories per day; which I'm assuming is okay with this new, much smaller pouch(?) I wait 30 minutes after my last drink before I eat and I then wait 30 mins after eating to drink again. I'm doing well with my water; staying around 70oz daily. Still, I constantly worry: Am I eating right?

Hey Peeps! Hope everyone is doing well...TGIF and all of that So I have 5 days to go til the Big Day. Yikes! Freaking out slightly, but trying to stay distracted. Anyway, I am wondering if anyone has advice on stores that sell ready to drink protein shakes in single serving bottles/cartons? Obviously we are from all over the place around here, but surely there must be some chain stores that sell them like that at all locations... I already have one I really like, which is Orgain Organic Protein Shakes Iced Mocha - lots of good stuff in them but a little higher in sugar and lower in protein (16g) than what is needed for a real MR shake. Not sure if i didnt chew enough or if it was because i had the two sips and didnt wait.. anyways.. i came home and had one more go of the same chicken.. and i was totally fine. I descoverd a perfect treat when you crave ice cream. Buy fat and sugar free yogurt. Plan and un flavored. Pop a cup in the freezer for 10 or 15 minutes. Then add a few drops of liquid water flavor enhancer. Like mio. Give it a try.

Hello everyone! So I’m on the purée stage and was wondering how often I should eat... I have my 2oz cups setup and ready with egg salad, chicken salad, apple sauce.. etc. I felt weird having my first 2 spoonfuls and stopped because I felt my adrenaline going and got nervous thinking it would come back up! So anyway.. I’m waiting 30 minutes before I can drink my water. And then wait another 30 minutes to dig into my 2oz cup again? Is that how you do it? Thank you everyone!!!!
