A thread for Maintainers to share our daily menus! (This thread is a spin-off from another thread I started that was open to all people at different stages. Meant to start this one specifically for Maintainers a while back, but am just now getting around to it ) Same format applies: To help keep things in perspective for everyone, let's try to note our height & weight (or BMI), gender, weight-status & how far out we are post-op (unless this is already stated in your side profile ) Post as little or as much info as you want. If you track macros, feel free to share your Protein, fat, & carb details...if all you feel like saying is you had a real…

Hey, so ive noticed there was 2 things I've eaten that caused really bad pain in the center of my stomach (area between ribs).. I'm thinking it's just something my stomach didn't agree with at all and maybe just created trapped gas?? I'm not sure but it does hurt and it takes about an hour or so for it to stop hurting. It's only happened 2 times since surgery (11/15/19)... Has anyone else had this happened ??

How many of you drink and eat at the same time? I’ve tried to follow the guidelines of not drinking 15 minutes before eating and waiting 30 minutes after eating. But I’d really like to drink during meals...

Always loved this 1951 catchy little tune by Hank Williams... And, these days sequestered at home feeling more like a 1950's homemaker (without the dress and heels, of course) with each day that passes by. Preparing three square meals daily with the dishes and pans in the sink to prove it! LOL. Actually, a nice change having hubby work from home for a spell meeting him for lunch in eat-in kitchen. Anyone else feel like you are living the movie Groundhog day!??? I certainly do! Let's share some of our nutritious, healthy and fun favorites (and, permissible comfort foods during these trying times) keeping our spirits lifted and moving forward positively at any WLS…

I just created a lovely dessert that I want to share with you all. Actually, it's so basic you probably have done this yourself. Blend a frozen banana, one cup of frozen mixed berries, one packet of sugarless vanilla pudding mix one cup of skim milk and two packets of artificial sweetener. I used Splenda. ....just blend it all for 2 minutes. It makes a really nice pudding! Enjoy! Grace

I found this great protein gummy recipe: 2 boxes of 3 oz flavored gelatin 4 packages of unflavored gelatin 3/4 cup water 4 Tbs unflavored liquid protein (60 grams) Boil water. Stir in both forms of gelatin until completely dissolved. Remove from heat. Let cool. Add protein when mixture cools but still a little warm. Drop by eye dropper into gummy molds. Cool in refrigerator for 30 minutes. ENJOY!

After much controversy out there on CICO and macronutrients, I spoke to my dr. DISCLAIMER: THIS IS ALL OPINION AND NOT FACTS A little background: I have always struggled with my weight since I was a kid. I started dieting as young as 11 years old. After graduating High School I weighed in the 260's and was really unhappy with myself. I had a terrible relationship with food and would go from starving to overeating. I decided to have the sleeve done. I did the sleeve at age 19 in Aug 16, 2017. At first I did great the weight slipped off quickly, but what i didn't realize is that i was losing weight without eating properly. I didn't really track my foods after 6 months and…

The evidence is pretty compelling for adopting a whole food plant based (WFPB) lifestyle. Basically, there are 4 food groups: vegetables, fruits, legumes, and whole grains. You can throw in some nuts and seeds as well. Nothing processed, no sugar. I already eat a very clean diet - no processed food, nothing artificial, no sugar, lots of veggies, whole grains, nuts, seeds, legumes. But I think I am going to try to gradually move away from animal based foods. I have inflammatory issues, and I am hoping this will help reduce those blood markers that continue to be high. I also have seen the evidence for improved athletic performance after making the switch. There is better a…

I have searched for dairy free protein water options. I found one on amazon but it doesn’t come in powder form or premixed in bottles. In comes 7 to a box and is a liquid concentrate. Ideally I would like to find a powder that comes in a larger volume amount. I can’t do anything with whey protein. I’m hoping someone else has had luck finding one they could recommend.

Any experienced meal preppers out there? I'm struggling with preparing meals. I very picky and like my food freshly made(seriously if the milk was out on the counter more than a hour, or the bag of something wasn't opened that day... its terrible). But what often happens is I get busy and since I don't have time to cook I'll snack throughout the day and than cook my dinner late at night by than I'm tight on my calorie budget. Also it's not the greatest idea to eat so late at night.... so any tips or ideas for me? When do you meal prep? How long does the food stay fresh... Thanks in advance

Anyone find an app that tracks daily food intake and exercise. I really don't want 2 separate apps. No fitbit crap. Fitbit totally inaccurate. I did 3 loads of laundry and folded and put away. It said I took 10k steps. Truck drivers report counting 25k steps just from driving (steering, shifting). I don't want recipe app. Just a tracker of what I ate and calculate macros.

So because of all the allergies I have with dairy I can’t have the premier shakes which I can tell everyone loves and these other ones are absolutely disgusting! I just wanted to know if anyone has tried this one I’m attaching in this topic. btw I have tried isopure nope the whey protein cause me to bloat and serious pain. I tried the Vega and the Chalky taste was unbearable and even this brown rice and pea flavorless one. The big family bru-ha-ha is coming up and the host is providing the food (usually cold cuts, meats, cheeses, and various breads, crackers and buns. Probably also some commercially made potato salad, and of course several kinds of chips.) Guests are asked to bring drinks or appetizers or dessert. Sooooo, I am planning ahead to bring stuff that I can eat, but won't look like I am standing out in the crowd. I will be sure to take raw veggies with my homemade cashew nut/tahinni hummus dip, and a bean/legume salad. Maybe even a quinoa/kale/tempeh salad. Also some black bean brownies that are really yummy and no one would even guess they are made with beans and have no flour. (…

Has anyone ever Ambian ate and have no memory of it? At some point last night, I got up out of bed, walked (naked) into the kitchen, went into the fridge, pull out the last remaining sliver of French silk pie, put it in a paper plate, put the pie plate in the sink, carried it to my bed (husband is out of town) ate it, put the empty plate on the night stand.... without getting a single crumb in the bed and the went back to sleep...... any one else?????

So I have had issues with getting enough energy after endurance sport (I'm a distance runner and a spinning instructor) because I'm not hungry after I run especially. And when I have weeks like this week with 4 spin sessions, 4 runs and a strength workout, I need to refule. At the store today I discovered these. Now I'm sure in the future I can make them myself, but for now I'll try these. It's dates and almonds and dates and coconut. That's it. Nothing more. So I figured I'd have 1-2 (2 is a portion) of these right after a run, and then a protein shake. This should be enough until I get hungry 1-2h after I run. I know a lot of people are scared of carbs he…

Hey everyone, I am 8 weeks out from VSG surgery. I can eat normal. I work with a nutritionist but I dont see her until my 3 month follow. So I am a little confused how many calories should I be eating. My doctor said 800-1000 calories a day. My sister who is a nutritionist is saying that is not enough and I am depriving myself. I have very slow weight lost, like a pound a week. I dont know if I am doing something wrong. How many calories are you guys eating this far out? What does a day of food look like for me? Anything helps! Thank you!

I tried to find a thread where people share their meal prep, but didn't find a dedicated one, so hopefully this can become one. Meal prep has been the key for me, so I thought I would share here as I meal prep throughout the week. I'll post recipes if anyone want particular ones. And feel free to share your meal prep Today I had some eggs that needed to be used, so today I made crust less quiche and instant pot egg bites

I’m hoping that I am posting in the correct board. I am now a little over two years post op from gastric bypass and had surgery on my rotator cuff twice this year, bed bounding me pretty badly the first time and then just making it difficult to exercise and move with the revision. I’ve been having immense pain in my face and other parts of my upper body after this second surgery, not helping my cause. This has made cooking a burden, especially foods I should be eating, and I have a tendency to graze at night. That wouldn’t be so bad if I could have something like grapes, but they make me dump so quickly. Does anybody have advice on how to get back on trac…

I'm 7 months out and have been doing well I've lost 100lbs. The other dau I went to blaze pizza and got a keto crust pizza with no sugar sauce and smoked ham with a few veggies. Ate 1 slice (I've done this several times before) the next day yesterday at lunch i ate 1 slice then some watermelon of which I've had before. 2 hours later AT WORK my hands started to shake and my heart rate went to over 100 I felt so weak almost faint I was able to get home and I fell into the bed TERRIFIED. I never had pain, nausea, or loose stool. I laid there in a stupor for about 2or3 hours and it went away. Okay family. WTF was that? Was it the watermelon juice pushing the food thru to fas…
