Over the past year, I have truly enjoyed BariatricPal Ready To Shake Instant 15g Protein Drink. They have assisted me with my 75lb weight loss. My question is why are there sometimes clumps of powder in my shakes? I insist that I am doing the same prep every time but not every shake comes out clump free. Anyone have any suggestions?

Hi All! I am an absolute sucker for pasta. I am wondering if anyone has tried Konjac Noodles with the Gastric Balloon, and if it caused any intestinal upset with eating these? Am I best just sticking with Zucchini noodles? Thanks!

I get they can eat what I make that is good for me, but that's not always going to be the case. I cannot expect them to be on the same eating plan as me (not portion sizes). I don't want to cook 2 separate meals to accommodate my family. What does this look like for you and your family?

So!!! My fellow coffee lovers! Question…what are some alternatives that we can have? for those that had gastric sleeve? Im a huge Starbucks and Dunkin Donut freak! And I’ve been wanting some coffee? I’ve been told after a week you can have some (in portion of course) and I known you still gotta intake your water. And also I heard to avoid whole milk? Anyone have any advice? I’m about to hit a month since my surgery!:)

There was a recipe I used to make pre-op that I loved. Homemade beef and broccoli. I have been wanting it, so I made a crock pot of it yesterday to have for lunches this week. Well, this is the first time I entered the ingredients and added up calories and WHOA! I was a bit shocked. There really isn't much to it other than BEEF (top round) and BROCCOLI! I mean, in all actuality the calories aren't bad, just more than I eat now for a meal. The random little things added up quick! 340 calories and 28 g protein per serving. I was just a bit shocked that they added up to that! Next time I will try to tweak the recipe to get it a little lighter and see how it ta…

Hi! I am newly endo-sleeved and moving towards solids now. I was told to stay sugar free, but I truly cannot tolerate artificial sweeteners (including stevia). I don’t have a huge sweet tooth in general, more of a savory eater, but I am wondering if the occasional “real” sugar will harm me that much. In theory, I know sugar is considered an empty calorie, but if I am staying in a significant deficit, wouldn’t that be sufficient? Backstory, I only have about 30lb to lose from start to finish, and mainly wanted the procedure to change my relationship with food (especially portion control) and improve my wellbeing and fitness. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank …

Hey guys, im about 9 days post op VSG. Surgery date was 6/28/22. Ive been on the soft liquids for about a week now, and have lost 25 pounds already. I know its recommended to wait two weeks before moving onto soft foods, but literally all i want is just a little bit, even a small soft food meal like some canned tuna to satisfy my urge to have something besides liquids. Is it alright to have even just a small soft meal to satisfy myself or is it too early? This stage is getting to my head a little bit but otherwise i honestly feel great. I've been going exactly by the book so far.

I've used the Carb Manager app in the past to track my nutrition and linked it to my fitbit. However, their nutrition info on a lot of things were off. It was annoying always correcting it or creating my own for simple things. I tried the Baritastic app the last few days but I don't like how you can only create recipes using servings sizes instead of actual weight. (Example: I cook Soup for me and my family and it equals 65 ounces of food. I eat 20 ounces. It will calculate the nutrition info of exactly what I ate instead of guessing serving sizes especially since I cook for 6 people.) I am pre-op still (surgery in Nov.) but want to find a reliable, easy to use, accura…

I will be 2 years post op VSG in 1 month. About how much of this should I be able to eat? 3oz of cod, 2 pierogies(2.3 oz total), and mixed veggies(1.4 oz total, mushroom, peppers, broccoli, Brussel sprouts). I didn't eat all of it, but I did eat most of it. I feel like I shouldn't be able to eat this much food? But I'm not really sure to be honest. I Def probably could have ate less of this meal as well.

  20. My surgery is in 6 days. I'm going to be following Dr. Weiner's diet after surgery. Because of some other health issues, I have to avoid certain foods and his philosophy most closely matches how I need to be eating, so it was a good fit for me. I have questions for others who are also following his diet. I bought three of his books, including the recipe book, but I would love to find more recipes and/or tips on how to follow this plan successfully. Were you able to avoid fake sugars in the first stage after surgery? How did you manage your protein intake if you were trying to cut back on/avoid dairy? Also, are there other websites, support groups, forums, etc. w…

Hi all! When did you guys start eating certain foods. Such as beef (like a meatball or hamburger) and hot dogs? Things like deli meats ( maybe a sandwich with lettuce and a tortilla wrap). I’m really interested in moving forward with trying new things but I am so scared to start trying new things.

I have been able to eat more than expected at every given stage since my sleeve so I have to measure my portions still. At one year out I have been eating around one serving of most things. I just made dinner though and those hard taco shells from old El Paso seem pretty big for the serving size to be TWO shells?? I ate one and don’t feel full (but I never do). I am just curious if other sleevers that are over a year out would have more than one?? I guess the amount of meat you get in one shell isn’t much (I didn’t weight it).

Has anyone tried these protein doughnuts. I found them on Amazon?? They are pretty expensive, but… does anyone know how they figure out the net carbs? I googled it and it’s something about the sugar alcohol they use being subtracted but I’ve never heard of this.

I used to eat my shellfish with drawn butter but of course that’s out nowadays and last time I had it with melted I can’t believe it’s not butter but it’s just not the same. I am wondering if anyone has a lower calorie buttery seafood sauce that is good on lobster and snow crab legs?? So far I found one online that used I can’t believe it’s not butter, onion, roasted garlic, chicken stock, lemon and seasonings which sounded promising but they roasted the garlic in olive oil which I try to stay away from just cause of the calories. Can I just roast the garlic w…

Today, I was reading a list of guidelines regarding supplies that households should keep on hand to survive 3 or more days in case of earthquakes, winter utility outages, etc. One prominent requirement is to have non-perishable foods stocked, for example, but many of the emergency kits seem to be hugely slanted towards pasta. I wonder if anyone here keep an emergency kit stocked, and, if so, what do you stock for your non-perishable bariatric food needs?

  32. I just bought some creamy hazelnut arabica coffee and it doesn’t have any nutrition information on it. It says right on it that it’s artificially flavored though so I would assume it has to have calories in it?? Do they not have to put it on there cause it’s not “food”??

Apparently this is not new but I just seen it at Starbucks in their protein meal so I looked into it a bit and the calories and carbs seem comparable to regular bread but it has 4g protein and 3g fiber in a serving. I don’t have any regular bread to compare but I don’t recall it having protein. Just wondering what others think about it. I had to try it but I only ate half a serving with some hummus and that was more than enough. It’s pretty filling. It tastes delicious.

  41. Dear guys I am in a mindestens struggle. I noticed that i arrange my food portions so perfect with probably more veggies as i should eat for my little stomach "to eat healthy". I am so stupid to strech my stomach with that just to eat so clean. I was aware that if i only eat a toast with chicken and egg i would need so much less in gramm and be more satiated for longer than i would just eat that much veggies in my meal. I feel guilty to choose chicken and toast prio than just veggies and chicken. My priority should be to keep my food volume as little as possible. But it is an old weird habit to eat so much veggie.

Has anyone out there developed diabetes AFTER surgery? I am 6 years out and not overweight but feel sick after I eat high carb meals. Usually things that contain bread or cereal and milk or yogurt. I feel like I’m in a sugar coma- very sleepy, short of breath, nauseous etc usually 15 minutes after I eat. I started testing my blood sugar and found my sugar was high when I am feeling this way- like well over 200. As I started testing throughout the day, I also see I am having very large deviations from highs to lows. Is anyone else unable to tolerate these foods and has anyone else develop diabetes after surgery when you are not overweight?

Anyone know any protein bars similar to premier protein? Especially similar such as 21g protein and 1g of sugar. They are no longer in store or online but I love to have them when I’m craving chocolate, they are so good. I still have no self control after losing 110lbs I know if I eat a candy bar one day I’ll eat them all week so I just avoid them.
