Hi youall, it has been awhile since i have been on , don't really now why i backed off other than things have not gone quite the way i had hoped it would. It was 1 year on the 12 that i had my band with the plication and i have manage to lose 55lbs but most of that came off before the surgery. After my band things where really slow maybe 1-2 lbs a month, for the first few months. i only have 2cc in my band but i dont feel like thats my problem. I feel like i have good resteriction because there are a lot of things i absolutly can not eat and one of them is bread. There are days that even water hurts to drink if i try and drink to fast. Hello everyone I'm new to this board and I'm do excited I found you guys! Ok I hope this doesn't sound crazy and I'm wondering of this has happened to anyone else. I have been banded since June 2010 and had lost 60lbs before becoming pregnant in June of 2012. Well I went and had some fluid removed during my 5th month of pregnancy (3 1/2 cc's ) which took me down to 4 cc's. Before I was unfilled I had pretty good restriction at 7 1/2 cc.. Well I gave birth a month ago and went in to get a fill. This person working with my doctor is new to me since she came during my pregnancy. So during my fill she was having a hard time getting my port, I never felt the pop that I normall…

Coconut oil - Does anyone use it? I have heard you should eat 2 tsp per day - Also that you can use it for moisturizer for body and hair. I tried it on my face and hands last night, and I really liked it. Does anyone use it as a supplement?

I have been banded since 12/29/2011 and I have lost a little over 60 pounds. I'm from the Johns Creek (Atlanta), GA area and I'm trying to find a doctor or clinic close to me that prescribes weight loss pills like phentermine or any others. Any suggestions or does anyone go any where near by? I'm not looking to take them for weight lose per sa just to give me a boost for about a month. I'm really struggling with energy.

As I prepare to have my band filled, after being emptied for over a year, I am struggling to recall what the days/weeks following the fill will be like and what will be able to eat. Sorry if this is not hte correct forum for this discussion. I think the first few days were liquid only, then a few days of puree type food, then soft food, Does that sound right? Also, any suggestions for specific things you ate during these phases following the band fill? Thanks!

  14. I'm new here and just decided to start the process of getting approved and scheduling a lapband. Can anyone tell me what to expect in terms of how long all this will take? I have full BCBS coverage and know that they do in fact cover surgery. Is it still a 6 mo. wait? Someone mentioned that surgeons are taking much less "waiting" time to schedule now. I'm not in a hurry just trying to decide what time of year would be best for me and my young family to deal w/ all this...winter or summer etc. Thanks!

Ever notice how some people spend more energy telling everyone what lap band surgery WILL NOT do and DID NOT do for THEM.....and therefore WILL NOT and CANNOT do for anyone else? As opposed to what Lap band Surgery HAS DONE for them therefore WILL DO for everyone else? It's as though, just because they do not have something, no one else can have it.....Mind Boggling! Is it the haves and have-nots? That is Negativity....No One should get in your way and tell you no....tell you not to try to acheive your goals, your dreams, aspirations.... This last 3 weeks I have been regurgitating everyday sometimes everytime I eat. I feel like my food is not going down like it suppose to and I end up regurgitating it back up, it's not a violent regurgitating but I know this is not normal. Sometimes it's hard for me to drink anything without it coming back up. I thought I had Acid Reflux or either I am eating too fast not chewing enough. And I get the hiccups and start to burp! Hello everyone. I had 8cc in my band and had started to be able to eat a lot more so I just had a fill of 1cc 2 days ago. I was able to drink a small sip in the office before I left however I noted on the way home that with more fluid there was much resistance to it going down. When I tried to eat it was very slow and laborious and yes I did get sick. In the past I sometimes did get sick for a while after a fill so I am now wondering what to do. I have been having reflux at night. How much I can eat depends on the food. It takes about 1/2 hour to eat an individual Greek yogurt and I find I can not eat till at least 9:30 in the morning. On the other hand I was able…

  20. I've read alot of entries that said that they use myfitnesspal on their phone, but since I've been totally against counting anything, I've avoided it. It now requires me to be more diligent in my weight loss Quest so I finally gave in to the hype. What a great app! They had every food I put in there (including my homemade Swedish meatbals - surprising), give a graph for me calories in/out, exercise, goals, etc. I've been playing with it the better part of the day. It does have a spot to add friends. I know there's alot of you on here (I've invited people from my facebook too), so I thought maybe you could add me? my name is "marfar7" I spent a better part of my adult…

I'm kinda worried there might not be enough resistance...any tips on what to do to feel fuller? But it has been good today for the most part...how can I tell if I need to go have more put in...eat something like bread to see how much resistance? 24. I have lost 2o pounds, my first fill appt is on May 2nd. Is it possible not to have a fill, but not need one? I am satisfied with just a cup of food, which Im on soft foods. Tilapia, beans, soups, egg salads with no mayo. Today I had a very small piece of omelette, two bites of potato, lunch was a slice of avocato, and a cup of white beans, and I felt too full. Is it possible not to need a fill? I forced myself to eat a few bites of a banana for dinner.

I have not been banned yet but will be sometime in May. Dr. Hoehn will be doing the surgery. I would love to hear from others who have had the surgery and who are going to be having the surgery soon.

Yesterday I posted some links with helpful information for those seeking revision published by a very well respected revision surgeon along with his comments about Lapband. So often we who have complications are told its our fault, the band doesn't fail, you overrate, ate too fast, didn't chew enough, ate the wrong foods, didn't call the doctor soon enough, etc. Dr Kesheshian's opinion of the band gives those who have complications some relief that the band can fail, cause lifelong complications and its not our fault. This forum should be a safe place to discuss complications, free of criticism, judgement and bullying. If you are having no complications, by all means…

  35. Hey there, my name is Lauren and I haven't been on here in a long while. Some background about me: my surgery was May 11, 2012. I began my journey at 244lbs and am now 174-180 (I haven't weighed in for a bit) That is a total weight loss of around 70lbs! I have about 30 more to go. This will end up a total weight loss of 100lbs. My dear cousin passed away at the tender age of 13 from a disease called Cystic Fibrosis. This was December 23, 2012. From there I managed to lose around 10lbs and haven't lost anything since. A month ago I had to get an un fill due to heart burn symptoms and gained 5 back. From then on I hit a serious problem of sabotaging my weight loss. I we…

I know everyone's recovery varies- but across the board- how much time off did you take when you had the band? I'm an office manager at a dr's office so I won't be doing anything strenuous. I just want to be realistic as I ask for the time off as I do not want anyone at work knowing what I am doing.

Hello Everyone, As some of us are starting to trend on to "band friendly" foods, we are hopefully tracking our food. If anyone is on My Fitness Pal, we should add each other so that we can help stay connected in good behaviors. Plus we can help share food this way and so on. Just another way for us all to loose together and help each other succeed. My user is fabricwife on My Fitness Pal. Feel free to add me. I would love to stay connected with all the Feb Bansters. Cheers to our Success and faithful loss.

I lost that 10lbs in a couple of days. I have to drink orange juice and water all day, so my kidneys don't start hurting. The pain is almost unbearable when I don't drink enou…

Not like I have helped, after being banded in April I didn't really come back much. Life has been stupid busy over the last 5+ mo and I seem to have lost track of the band. Weightloss stopped about 5 mo ago and recently it started coming back on. A pound here, a pound there. Its amazing how good the mind is as diverting attention away things like "well its still 60+ pounds off, don't worry about it right now". A few days ago I said enough is enough and started back / revisited a number of things. Its time to end the "I will get back on track tomorrow when things settle down". Hi. I am struggling. I had my band put in 3.5 years ago. In that time I have never felt full. I had a terrible doctor and eventually gave up. Then decided that was silly and sought a new doctor. I really like him and his staff. I started getting fills with the new staff and got pregnant. After my pregnancy I was down 30 pounds. Since then (Dec. 2011) I have gained 10 pounds. I got to full and had a dialation. I am now back up to 10.75cc in my band and I still don't feel full. I can eat a full Chipotle Bowl or a full meal. I am SO FRUSTRATED. What would you recommend I do????? This does not feel right.
