Weight Loss Surgical Center's Overland Park and Independence clinics have monthly weight loss support group meetings scheduled for the third Saturdays at 11 a.m. in our Overland Park LAP-BAND® Clinic at 8101 W 135th St and on the first Wednesdays at 4:30 p.m. in our Independence LAP-BAND® Clinic inside the southeast entrance of Independence Center mall. Here are details on the remaining meetings scheduled for this year:

• Nov. 21 Overland Park LAP-BAND® Support Group at 11 a.m. at 8101 W 135th St.
  
• Dec. 2 Independence LAP-BAND® Support Group at 4:30 p.m. at Independence Center
  
• Dec. 19 Overland Park LAP-BAND® Support Group at 11 a.m. at 8101 W 135th St.
  

I live in Independence and am looking for a support group that meets Wed., Thurs., or Fri. Everything I seen meets on the weekends and I work. Can anyone help. Support groups are a very good tool for weight loss.

Are there any support groups in the KC area that are not specific to one doctor or group? I would like to go.

It's been a while since this post was started, but I wanted to let you know that there is now a support group in the North Kansas City area. It's open to anyone who has had lapband surgery or is thinking about having it done. It is held the 3rd Thursday of the month from 5 to 6 pm at the Weight Loss Surgical Center, 8548 Ambassador Dr. Kansas City.
