  1. I have regretted it when the band is too tight and I have been unable to eat. However, if I had gone to the right doctor from the beginning it never would have happened that way. All in all, it's a tool that helps me lose weight, albeit slowly. The unknown is whether or not I would have been able to lose without the band .... which I hadn't been doing. So, that being said I am happy I have it because it has helped me lose weight along with eating right and working out.
  2. Please let me know any questions you have. I am more than happy to help you through the process without being confused. It's a completely different way to live and eat, and 4 years later I will still sometimes mess up and take a bite too big to later regret it
  3. are there any support groups in the KC area that are not doctor specific?
  4. Hi, I think I know where you went because I had the exact same problem and switched doctors. Did you ever find a new one and get on the right path?
  5. Hi, I am 28 and live in KC. I have been banded almost 4 years and have had lots of experiences that I may be able to help you with. Who is doing your surgery?
  6. Wouldn't it be nice to go out and share a meal with someone who knows what its like to have a band? Let's post our information here and maybe we can get some groups together for social outings. I am Cassandra, 28 and live in Kansas City. Going through a divorce and I have 2 dogs. Down 78 pounds so far and 70% to goal.
  7. Hi there everyone, I am in a somewhat similar situation. Going through a divorce that was mostly my decision. This is definitely for the best, but I'll be damned if it isn't lonely living by yourself after several years of having someone here each day. I'm trying not to turn to food as a help-mate in this transition. I'm also trying to figure out "how" to date again. What to do, what not to do. Whether I should start dating now (about 70% to goal) or wait until I get closer. But I don't want to date someone who only wants the thinner me, I want someone who cares in general.... knowing of course that physical attraction is important on both sides. Then on the other hand, maybe I just want to make a lot of friends in the area to spend time with and forego all dating. My marriage has been emotionally over for quite some time and I feel the need to get out and have some fun. Anyone else in the situation or have some advice?
