  3. As I have stated I do trust my Dr. I just don't understand the food plan.
  4. EAS protein shakes. Jello. Ask your Dr abt GasX too. The pain I had afterwards was severe gas pain and slight abdominal discomfort. Good luck!
  5. I will absolutely share what I learn.

  7. Thanks for the advice and opinions. I am going to talk with a nutritionist to come up with a plan that works for mr. I do agree I should value my Dr's advice but there needs to be some type of plan that I can be successful with. I know out of the 20+ years of dieting unsuccessfully the one I know that doesn't work is NO carbs. I need to be patient and remind myself that this is a tool to aid in weight loss and I need to find something that works for me.

  12. Hmm...no snack was ever mentioned. I'm really not getting this I guess. Should I be consulting a nutritionist?
  13. I was banded on 4/12. I had to follow a no carb diet the week before surgery. I lost 19lbs but I would have hurt somebody's grandma for a ill sugar! I just went for my follow-up appointment yesterday. My Dr. said he wants me on the same diet post-op and to include a chewable vitamin. He said fruits and vegetables are not important to incorporate. He wants me to solely focus on protein. He also said to only eat when I am hungry. If that means once or twice a day that's fine. Where are the nutrients coming from? Fiber? Clearly I am not a nutritionist and wouldn't have ballooned up to 335 if I had all the answers, but I am having a hard time wrapping my brain around this. He told me to trust him. Any thoughts?
  14. I appreciate the answers! When I weighed after surgery I was joking saying that my Dr did the wrong surgery! Lol!
  15. I had surgery 4/12. Before surgery I was on a zero carbs diet-I lost 19lbs in 1 week. Since the morning of surgery, I have gained 4 lbs. I am on liquids and averaging 700 calories per day.

  18. Thanks! I am 3 days out. I am just really happy that the gas pains-that my Dr failed to mention have started to subside.
  19. How come I have gained 5 lbs? Before surgery I lost 19lbs in 1 week just following no carbs but since surgery I've gained. I'm not thrilled to see that!
