I am 3 days in with my Lap Band. The doctor gave me liquid Hydrocodiene for pain but for just general pain (headache) is it ok to take a tylenol that is non liquid form? Are gel caps better?

Hey everyone. I was banded jan 4th 2013 and weighed 206 on surgery day. My band is a 10cc band. At the time of surgery they had filled it to 3,5ccs. First month was ok. I have to admit tho I did move into solids before I was supposed to. By week 3. I felt fine. Didn't feel any restriction at all. I have had 2 fills since then and my band is now at 5.5 cc. I do feel like I'm not as hungry as before but I still don't get that "full" feeling. I'm not on a strict diet or anything because my surgeon said to make healthy choices and that's what I do. I'm not sure how to feel At this point. It's been 3 months and my weight now is 224. I feel like a failure al…

I am finally getting filled Monday..for the last few weeks I have been able to get down whatever I want even though I haven't tried often.I am kinda frustrated because I can get whatever down..even though I know that will change. I have lost probably 20-30 lbs so far but I've been unrestricted for several weeks I've just been trying to keep my calorie intake to 1500 calories or less( I'm 6'2 and over 300) so that's not alot of calories. Please tell me I'm not a Lone Ranger here..I have felt guilty just from the sheer fact that I can get things down If I want to...And what is this green zone people are talking about? Haven't heard of that...any comments and suggestions are …

I'm kinda new to sticks and definitely to vomiting with the band. I had a stick tonight, coughed and some of it just came right up. Walked around and did jumping jacks to move the rest of it. Usually I can drink tea, but I threw that up too, and then dry heaved a little. I'm scared, and just want to know if anyone else has had a similar experience? Has my band slipped because the tea came up, or did I drink too soon after the stick, (like ten minutes). Thank you for your advice.

So I am curious to see what goal/s everyone else has. I know for me I have been carrying around a box of clothes for the past few years and kept telling myself ...."keep these you will get back into them I promise" as well as the goal to become healthy and fit and lose all this extra weight so my joints don't pop lock and grind. I already have one outfit in my sights right now....nothing special just some old Walmart blue jeans and a free T-shirt from some activity I did where they gifted me a shirt that I never got the chance to wear because it was too small. Size wise I am in a stretch...by that I mean I had given up on jeans about a month ago when I couldn't fit any of…

i know each journal is different - but my doc is unfortunately really vauge when it comes to post fill instructions. i only recently started following up w/ him after a small 7 year break (lol) and the best i can remember is him just not giving me alot of detailed instructions about what to eat right after a fill. i'm a very concrete thinker and need concrete instructions.... i'm going in for a tiny fill this coming tuesday and i am super excited. i'm prepared to be on clears the rest of that day, and for the next two days, then full liquids x 2 days, then mushies x 2 days, then semi solids x 2 days, then back to solids. i'm just curious what your doc's instructions were…

I take Glucosomine daily for arthritis in my knees. It helps tremendously and I can't get much accomplished if I don't take it. The pills are rather large. I haven't been able to find anything besides them. Does anyone know of a place that I can find liquid forms or capsules that I can open and pour into juice or something??

I had my third fill 2 weeks ago. At first I could barely eat anything. I was barely able to even drink. I had to sip really slowly. After week 1, it gradually eased up. If I eat to fast it will get stuck but there are No real limitations on portions or what I can eat. Does this suggest I need another fill? Or maybe I stretched my stomach area above the band? Anyone have a similar experience?

I was banded 7 weeks ago. I had my first fill (3cc in a 14cc band) 1 week ago. I had no restriction before the fill and still have none. My next appointment is in 3 weeks. Should I wait this amount of time or see if I can get in sooner for another fill? Do I need to give it more time? I have lost 25 pounds, but that is sheer willpower. I'd like to hear from the veterans. Thanks.

I got dressed today and all the sudden it is like my body changed over night. The shirt I wore last week that was big is now huge. The pants I wore yesterday are hanging some on my belly. I also notice more of a waist. I have lost a total of 95.2 and about 50 of it is from end of last October. Any one else have experience like this?

I posted a few weeks ago about maybe needing an unfill. I saw my doc today and got a small unfill. (0.3 out of 2.2 in a 10cc band). This is my first unfilled ever - since being banded in 2004!! I lost 4.2 lbs last month so I'm doing something right. I was still having to "spit up" sometimes and it took me literally forever to eat!! I've lost a total of 59.3 lbs and still have another 50 to loose. I'm well on my way!!

I had a stomach virus for 4 days and I lost 10 pounds. Only crackers and water helped me survive. Now I can eat again and I have gained back 8 of the 10 pounds. I hate it because I was so glad I had lost that much weight. Other banders have said they never gain weight with lap band so I'm just kinda upset that I have.

Ok May banders I'm ready to move on pass all the surgery and liquid diet part. I need someone that I can check in with every night. I need some one that will be my partner that I can tell all of my cheat and victories too. I need some one that will not be afraid to yell at me when I didn't go to the gym like I was suppose to or follow my diet correctly or to cheer me on. I will share my ups and downs. Now I don't have a problem posting to every one here in our group. But If that is what we all agree on than every one will have to check in every night or you will have to post the night before that you will be on vacation and returning on a specfic night. So I'm liste…

I have insurance, but it doesnt cover the band. So I am going to be self pay and I have my consultation on January 18th. I am SOOO excited/anxious/nervous but I really don't know what to expect. When you are self pay, what is the "turn around time" from the consult visit to the surgery? What kinds of pre-surgery hoops will I have to jump through? Any info is appreciated!!

Hi Everyone, My Name is John I started my Journey back on 1/3/07 this is also when I had my Lap Band Surgery. Things have not gone as I hoped up until now when I decided to give this another shot. I went into surgery at the weight of 330 pounds on a 5 foot 10 inch frame, I weight in at 334 March 25 2013 in my lap band doctors office. I have a appointment this Wednesday 4/3/13 to have my lap band adjusted, I am so excited I can not wait. As you can see it has been about 6 years 3 months since my surgery. This will be my second adjustment since my surgery. I had lost 30 pounds back in 2007. I followed this for about 6 months, and never went back to get a adjustment. If all …

Hello everyone. I'm so ready to move forward and get this lapband tool working for me. I go for my first fill tomorrow. Up to this point (7 weeks post op) I haven't really felt like I have a band, although for the past 3-4 days I seem to be feeling some restriction. Strange that I never have before now, so I don't know what changed. But I go for a fill tomorrow and I'm so excited. I hope the doctor will put enough in that I get some results. It has been difficult these past few weeks (as it is for all of us) to not have any restriction and go through the bandster hell eveyrone writes about. I guess I wasn't ready for it to not work in the beginning. I thought it …

I'm in the beginning stages of WLS -- getting ready to go through all the classes/testing, etc., before even getting a surgery date set. I've done LOTS of research and reading and talking to people - and I can't quite seem to get a (consistent) concensus on hunger! So I'd love to know what people here can offer with personal experiences: I've "heard" that the band will make you feel full after eating the 4 ounces or whatever, that you will NOT be hungry, and you'll be satisified with your new limited portions. Then again, I've "heard" that yes you WILL still be hungry! If you're still hungry and you can't eat, then how is it as easy as everyone says? Please hare pe…

I am one week post surgery today and experienced hiccups--but I was not eating--and hadn't actually eaten anything for almost six hours when they occurred. I read a lot about people who say that this is a soft indicator of being close to full--but what about hiccups from lack of eating? Could this be a sign that I have gone too long without having something in my stomach? I had been sipping Water during the course of that non-eating. I also read that it could be a sign of a slipped band--but since I haven't even had a fill and am only a week out--could there be any other reasons triggering this to occur? I don't know if it matters but I did start the mushy stage two…

Hi all fellow bandsters, I was banded 7-29-08 by a wonderful Dr I've lost a little over 60 lbs. I know that I should have lost more by now, and it makes me sad. My husband doesn't really get it, he doesn't really support me, in fact I'll be having a weak minute (or two) and ask him for some sugar free ice cream, and he never questions it or try's to talk me out of it, he (God love him) just goes and gets it for me. I know that the weight loss isn't his fault by any means, but it doesn't help. I have two kids both teens who of course love to eat the crappy stuff and I of course buy it for them, but I have cut down in what I buy and have started buying more healthy stuff. …
