crock pot chicken

A FB friend just posted this and it sounds wonderful.

1-cup of pineapple juice

1/2 cup packed brown sugar (I would use Splenda brown sugar)

1/3 cup light soy sauce

2 lbs. chicken tenderloins

put in crock pot for 6-8 hours on low

they should fall apart

:rolleyes:this sounds like 8 meals for a LB person

I entered this on my fitness pal, thinking it would be sky high in carbs (entered regular brown sugar), and was pleasantly surprised that it was only 16.6 carbs and has 25 gr protein! I wonder if red

Sodium came it at about 600mg per serving. I don't do artificial sweeteners, so Splenda won't work for me. I would opt to reduce the brown sugar by half, which would = Splenda brown sugar.

Splenda should be fine but sounds good either way. How is the sodium?

I don't know but they do sell low sodium soy sauce. You can add it to your list of yummy recipes.

Low sodium soy sauce, oyster sauce and anything like those are still extremely high in sodium.

I use Braggs liquid Aminos instead of soy sauce.

Ingredients: Our Bragg Liquid Aminos are made from health-giving, NON-GMO soybeans and purified Water. They are an excellent, healthy, gourmet replacement for Tamari and Soy Sauce. Not fermented or heated and Gluten-Free.

here is a thought..since pineapple is sweet anyway, you can/could leave out the sugar all together...just a thought..def something i will try to make in the near future.

good job eye candy

and you can also do this by using salsa as the liquid with chicken and add onions/peppers/etc to make this crock pot version. just another thought

I've made this and my guys love it, say I need to make more often
