  1. Ay got my Lapband fixed! The port disconnected! So now waiting on my first fill on 30th! Can't wait to get back on track tired of being hungry.
  2. After the band felt like I did 100 sit ups after that nothing. Was nervous about fills but you don't feel a thing a little pressure maybe. Just eat small bites and eat SLOW!!
  3. Hey! Not too young for peri- menopause. You are in menopause after period stops! I found Flax was great for hot flashes, I added a scoop to cereal, protein shake whatever to get it in. Cold rag on back of neck helps too and at night sleep with a clip on fan aimed straight at me!!
  4. I am coming up on my 1year Bandiversary on 5/30!!!!!!! A lot has happened to me in that year, foot surgery which I regret, knee surgery which was needed and cancer surgery most def needed! With all this I have so far lost 73 lbs! I am down from a 4x-5x to an XL and loving myself again! I had the foot surgery because I was more active and foot was hurting but guess I picked wrong doctor cause foot is worse but working on fixing that! Through my surgeries and also loss of my mother in law I have been fairly diligent on what I eat! I could use an adjustment but due to this last surgery have had to postpone that so I drink water to fill me when I know I shouldn't eat! Thankful for a second or maybe third chance at life and living. Can't wait to get on my feet as I just got an elliptical that I am dying to use. I don't make myself crazy and once in a blue moon I do have something I "shouldn't" but in very small doses that's ok too! If I don't then I will want even more, sometimes just a bite satisfies! It doesn't have to be hard!! I'm human not perfect! Could I have lost more? Probably but it's progress not perfection!! This is my story my life and I have more to write!!!!!!!
  5. May 30th I will be 1 yr and I have been drinking regular coffee the whole time! Spoke to dr and nutritionist I gave up a whole lot won't give up my coffee! And I have 1 spoon regular sugar and my creamer usually get the fat free ones. I do 2-3 cups of coffee a day and I am loosing jus fine they tell me as long as its not a pot of coffee I am fine!
  6. Thank you all for your support. It really means a lot. I went to doctor Friday and he took out staples, there is one part of the incision that didn't close so a couple times a day I need to put moist packing in and that is the most disgusting thing I have ever had to deal with, but if that's the worst of this I will deal. Considering the alternative could have been far worse! Sill finding it hard to wrap my head around the fact that I had kidney cancer!! Feels like a bad dream and I thank my God/ Higher Power for bringing me through it and all of you for your prayers!
  7. Hi all haven't been on of late due to some extreme life issues. My Mother In Law a passed away at the same time this was happening I was diagnosed with a tumor on my kidney. I recently had surgery (last Tues 5/14) And they removed part of my kidney and all the tumor!!! I had a little trouble in the OR with my breathing but the good Lord was watching over me and all was ok. I am home now on the mend slowly very slowly! I have had a couple of stuck moments which with the surgery were excrutiating but got passed. Just really could use some prayers through this ordeal! Can't wait to get back on track although I'm not gaining so that's good!
  8. I'm in NJ and use Dr Ewing in Paramus! Love the whole group there!
  9. Hey newbies! Banded 5/30/12 and down 70 lbs! Still a way to go for my goal but sooooo happy where I'm at! One day at a time and I'm loving who I see in the mirror!!!
  10. I just order a regular healthy meal and take home! It turns into 3 meals during the week!
  11. I was also told vitamins right away. A week clear then full liquids with protein shakes!! Good luck!!
  12. Nice grew up Bergen County, Westwood, now living in Passaic County, Haledon!
  13. Had mine May 30th last year, a Wednesday. It was Memorial weekend went back following Wed. could have done Tuesday. Just felt like I did 100 sit ups
  14. Anyone from Jersey here?? I'm in Passaic County! Banded 5/30/12.
  15. I have found some lo cal cookies like WhoNu takes like oreos I have one or two and I'm good. Drinking water helps too.
  16. Do you take B12? I take sublingual tabs. Helps with energy
  17. I was never told no coffee or decaf. I love my coffee and have 2 cups every morn! No problems
  18. Just had band, plication wasn't even mentioned. Down 70lbs since 5/30/12! There's work involved either way and it's better to have a little slower loss for long term results. For me...if I really can't afford something then I don't need it, but that's my logic. You are being banded and you will loose as long you are diligent. Good luck!
  19. I had that too and yes it is from surgery of effects of. Biotin helps but should stop once your body adjusts, mine did.
  20. I haven't heard of that and I work for a hospital. Should be no need for any of that until you hear from insurance. I would call and ask.
  21. I order Lifetime Life's Basic from Amazon, unsweetened or vanilla and make a fruit smoothie !
  22. I want to welcome all and good luck May 30th will be 1yr for me and so far down 70lbs post op!!! Best thing I ever did!!! I have a ways to go but so happy to be on this journey!!
  23. I've made this and my guys love it, say I need to make more often
  24. Good luck to and welcome! 10 months into this and 70 lbs down. Not drinking with meals was huge for me but you really do get use to it. The main thing is to get moving right after surger, walking, it helps tremendously with gas. Otherwise it's not that bad! Looking forward to getting to know you!
  25. Everyone is different. Me I had mine on a Wednesday and back to work on Tuesday. The first couple days was gas pain but found the more I walked the better it was! By the time I went back to work it was more like doing 100 situps.. Good luck and keep moving!! xo
