Hi All, Just curious how long you all lost weight for. Was it 6 months, 9 months, a year? Just curious on the average amount of time. I know it slows down, but wondering. I am at the 4 month mark, doing everything right so far, protein, liquids and exercise and I feel it's a little slow. I am fine with that, as long as it all comes off. Starting weight was 311, was 255 today, so yes, I know that is good, just seems a little slower than others I read on here. Thanks

I am 3 months post op and my stomach makes noises all day long is this normal and how long does this last, I hate sitting in a quiet room and having my stomach talking to me constantly. I also get this feeling like a air bubble in my throat all the time and it makes me burp all the time am I causing this somehow or is this part of the after effects of the surgery?? Neither one is painful it's just annoying as crap. Thank you

Happy to say.... 3 days post op a d feeling pretty great! The first two days were ROUGH and the third day was no picnic....but by the 4th day, thanks be to God I feel like a million dollars! I wanted to share some of my discomfort so you know there is light at the end of tunnel....don't despair! 1. I felt incredible gas pain and wanted to punch the nurse and doctors when they would smile and say walk walk walk... shut your face!!! 2. By the second day they gave me liquids and it felt like liquid glass going down my throat and afterwards it felt like life sucking pressure in my chest that made me bed for sweet death. I could not breath. Enter nurse... walk walk walk. S…

How is it that some people are already eating foods less than 3 weeks after their sugeries and able to tolerate it...but some people can't? I admit I had French Onion Soup and I had no issues...tried to eat chicken Noodle Soup...BAD idea. Lesson learned.

First and foremost thank you for taking the time to read this, and if you have any suggestion, please throw them my way. I had my surgery on 1/18/17 no problems other then the blessed gas pains. My SW was 247, my CW is 224; so that's 23 lbs lost. I am at a 4 weeks post-op. I think that about covers the general things. I saw my surgeon on the 24th of January for my first week post-op check up. He gave me the green light to do puréed/soft foods for 2 weeks to move on to regular food. Honestly I just looked a him like he was crazy because that would put me at 3 weeks post-op and eat regular food so quick??!?!!??!?!? And I can say that I am struggling with the food/protein…

It's been a rough 6 days. The first 3 I was so tired, I didn't want to get out of my hospital bed or do anything but sleep. But now I feel much better. I'm able to get in my fluids easy (just need to drink a bit more). Yesterday I got 40 oz of fluids in and today it'll be close to 35 oz. I know that's not a lot but I'm trying my best. My surgeon said that I needed to consume 64oz of fluids a day but there is no way I can do that so soon after surgery. I almost cried when everyone else was enjoying their meals and I couldn't eat a single thing they were cooking. Things will get better, I know it.

Has anybody gotten a hernia after surgery due to too much strain? If so, how does it feel and what are the symptoms? My surgery was on 1/30 and I haven't done any core exercises yet but lately I haven't been sticking to the 20lb lifting restriction like I should. I was told to continue the lifting restriction until the end of this month. However, I got really sick of always asking others to help me with moving things or picking things up etc, so I just started doing it myself. Now, this past week I've started feeling this pain in my abdominal area. It's not severe pain but it is uncomfortable and not something I've felt before. Should I be worried?

Has anyone tried the 5 or 10 day pouch reset? Essentially it is the below, and is supposed to mimic the first few weeks after the surgery to reset the pouch and get you back on track, but on a smaller scale. Days 1 & 2: liquid Protein low-carb Protein shakes, broth, clear or cream Soups, sugar-free Gelatin and pudding. Day 3: Soft Protein canned fish (tuna or salmon) eggs, fresh soft fish (tilapia, sole, etc) Day 4: Firm Protein ground meat (turkey, beef, chicken, lamb), shellfish, scallops, lobster, fresh salmon or halibut. Day 5: Solid Protein white meat poultry, beef steak, pork, lamb, wild game Or 10 day - which is same concept spread out. [Day 1 - Clear …

5 weeks post op and I am down 21.6 pounds. I know everyone loses at different rates but I just thought I would have lost more by this point. I'm still very happy with the 21 pounds though. My clothes are fitting more comfortably and I can almost go down a size. I'm eating right around 60-70g protein . Around 600 calories/day and I'm trying to get 64oz fluid but sometimes I have difficulty reaching that. Can you tell me your experience at 5 weeks??

I am 28 months post surgery. I lost about 55 lbs and have 30 more to go. I am struggling with going up and down 5 lbs and feel hungrier than I used to. I am concerned that my stomach stretched and that I won't be able to lose this last 30 lbs. I am kind of at a loss and don't know where to start. I binge on carbs which I know is my main problem, because I find restricting carbs totally so difficult, i am ready to start working hard again and appreciate any help! I hope my stomach can shrink again??

Every time I eat anything (soft foods) I can't get more than 3 bites down. I have been trying to get 5-6 because it looks good and I'm hungry but end up regretting it. I chew as slow as possible but still end up in so much pain and vomiting. As I'm typing this I'm realizing 3 bites might be my limit. Is any of this making sense? So frustrated!! [emoji26]

How do you know when you're able to eat more? I'm almost 3 months out from my RNY and my NUT wants me to be able to eat about 3 oz. of meat and 1/2 cup of veggies at my meals. I don't experience hunger and I have unfortunately over eaten a few times trying to force myself to meet my protein goal. I can usually only get in 1-2 oz. of meat (shredded chicken and those salmon packets seem to go down easiest and I can get more of those foods in) at a time and I usually don't even have room for veggies. I get in about 60g of protein (20g from protein water, sometimes I need more from my water though on days where I'm sick or I just can't eat a lot). But I know I need to eat m…

Anyone experience back problems after surgery and losing weight? I'm about 9 months post op and have lost a total of 230 pounds. I never had back pain before but now my back hurts when I'm sitting at work, sitting in my car, or standing for a while. I figured losing weight would help with back pain but it's actually giving me pain. Not sure if my posture somehow got out of whack or what.

Hey guys I just had my surgery 3/1. Everything has been going okay except I started bleeding today, almost like a period but it only happens when I'm up walking around and doing things. Is this normal, am I just possibly over doing it? I have the mirena birth control and I haven't had a period in almost 2 years.

Hi everyone I'm almost 5 weeks out I got my sleeve on 2/1 and everything's been running smooth but for the past week I throw up with any protein shake and I've been having a hard time meeting my protein and fluids goals because I'm always so nauseous. Has anyone gone through this? Also this started one day when I had puréed chicken and I'm guessing I ate too fast so I threw up, but now I throw up everyday regardless of how slow I eat I've been regressing back to even thinner puréed foods I'm supposed start incorporating regular soft foods next week but I don't feel quite ready.

I'm currently at gw but actively trying to lose 8 more lbs to reach my stretch goal. I hit gw 6 weeks ago. I am eating between 800-1100 calories a day, 60 G Protein, no more than 40 carbs. I exercise 3x week at a moderate level of exertion, usually running or biking, and walk 2 days a week at a leisurely pace for 25-40 minutes (depends on the weather and how energetic my dogs are). I have only lost 2 lbs in six weeks. I am looking for advice on getting over this plateau as I am worried that my body has found what it wants to be its new set point!

I'm scheduled for my sleeve on Wednesday.. ahhh!! Starting to get a little nervous.. anyways I'm a skinny person trapped in a fat persons body, by that I mean I LOVE going to the gym and lifting really heavy and pushing myself. I know I will have to take some time off from weight training after the surgery but I'm curious how long did most people weight until they were full force back to working out and lifting weights?

Hey all, I'm about two months post-op. Feeling better every day but I'm noticing some new things happening. I've tried, on two different occasions, to eat some like a tortilla with guacamole and have immediately and I mean IMMEDIATELY been overcome with the urge to vomit. Nothing comes up oddly enough but i get intense dry heaving. I then am no longer really interested in eating and just go drink a protein shake. I know that people's food preferences change after surgery but has anyone experienced anything like this? It's too the point that anything with a sauce or dip makes me queasy to even think about trying. Just the sight of it makes me sick. Just wanted to see if …

I'm 10 months out. Nearly lost 120lbs. Way exceeded my surgeons goal. I work out religiously. Always trying to find the right balance with eating. I have the most supportive friends and family, I'm so blessed-but how do you deal with the pressure to continue to succeed? To not gain? How do you ignore the eyes that are watching to see if you actually can keep this weight off? Just feeling a bit emotional and stressed today and would love to hear from some veterans... ?

So I mentioned last week that I was not losing weight. Well nothings changed. In fact I've gained 2 pounds! I'm getting very discouraged. I'm eating perfectly. Literally just protein, veggies, and fruit. Getting in all my water and vitamins. Walking a mile a day, and still nothing! I'm so confused and I'm starting to feel like this surgery was for nothing.
