  6. I stopped taking them due to high costs (I'm low income). He doesn't think I need to take any, which has been an big issue since we started dating. I don't think he really understands what it's like to be with a WLS patient and if we break up, then I'll know that he truly wasn't the right man for me. We've discussed my issues many times and he admitted my issues are very hard and on him, that he doesn't know what to do anymore. I need to find vitamins that won't hurt my pockets. I've already discussed my problems with the psychiatrist and there is nothing they can do for me due to my VSG surgery. I was told to seek alternative remedies to help me. Now I'm beginning to regret having surgery and I wasn't feeling like this before.
  7. My libido was alright until a few months ago when I started taking Zoloft and Zyprexa to treat my depression and schizophrenia. Now it's so bad that my fiance is considering leaving me because I literally have no sex drive, and low energy. I WANT to have sex...but the desire isn't really there. I've had hormonal issues that predate my VSG surgery nearly 18 months ago. I knew that I'd have issues, but never this serious. Besides going to my GYN, is there anything I can do on my own to help increase my libido? The doctor also mentioned that my Vitamin D levels were quite low and suggested I take Vitamin D3. I haven't been taking vitamins at all due to the cost. If I don't get help soon, me and my fiance will be heading to splitsville...with no chance of ever reconciling. He acknowledged that it was the psych medications on top of the hot weather here in New York that's causing my issues. Any suggestions, tips and/or advice will be gladly appreciated.

  9. I'm nearly a year out from VSG surgery and I've regained (and lost and regained again). Due to living situations, I wasn't able to eat properly and now I'm paying for it. I'm transitioning back to veganism as a way to get back on track (plus meat and dairy makes me nauseous). What makes things worse is that I have people around me giving me advice, when they themselves aren't taking their own advice (saying they're getting healthy but are clearly not doing so). I've been beating myself up over my errors in judgment, but all I can do is to pick myself up and never do it again. As for this person that's giving me information: She was telling me her friend had VSG, ate no carbs and lost weight. I just looked at her and shook my head. Grrr!

  11. I am a Raw Vegan chef so transitioning back to veganism won't be much of an issue. I've been one for 11 years but fell off the wagon several years ago. I've done plenty of research and believe veganism is right for me.

  19. I know when to stop eating. This surgery has forever changed the way I view eating and I'm very thankful for that. I eat 3-4 times a day and I usually eat the aforementioned things occasionally. I'm 7 months post op by the way.
  20. I eat pasta, bread and rice. Sometimes a slice of pizza, not going to lie. I don't eat them everyday and will not eat them everyday. I used to binge on these foods but not anymore. I am active and always on the move so I'm losing weight and inches (slowly).
  21. I skipped the pureed stage and went straight to soft foods. The very thought of eating pureed meat made me gag. I tried and couldn't do it.
  22. I take Tylenol 8 hr Arthritis. 650 mg per pill. It can be bought OTC (Over the Counter). I take one and my pain is gone within an hour.
  23. My hunger returned as soon as I started eating regular food. If I don't eat every 2-3 hours, I feel actual hunger (and not head hunger). I take my acid reflux meds and drink enough water.
  24. I had one person tell me that if i ate too much, that my stomach would explode.

  26. I can drink almost normally but I don't push it. I am nearly a month out and have lost 23 lbs. And no my sleeve isn't stretched out.
  27. Are there any vegan sleevers on this site? I am lactose intolerant and even though I consume dairy and other animal products, it doesn't make my new tummy feel good. I'm nearly a month out.
  28. I told my housemates, my Twitter followers and my Facebook friends. A few tried to talk me out of it but I wasn't backing down. One was so negative that I refuse to talk to her again. My surgery was 2/28/17.
  29. I had someone tell me not to do it because my stomach would burst if I ate too much, that everyone she knew that had the sleeve surgery gained all their weight back. Someone she knew died of WLS. She was suggesting procedures that my insurance didn't even cover, b-12 shots. Ironically this person has weight issues and her weight has been yo-yo'ing for years. My aunt said that all I need to do is to eat right, exercise and eat organic (forgetting that I have arthritis in both my knees and organic is expensive for someone on Food Stamps). A lot of people were negative and needless to say I no longer talk to them. I had my surgery on 2/28/17.
