So, I am finally on the losers bench an I am good with the next two weeks of liquids especially since i have no hunger sensation. I am also happy to know that I will be moving to real foods again. My question to you guys is what was your first pureed meal. I'm so excited that i dont know what to chose first. Help! Any and all suggestions are welcomed.

I am two days post surgery. Swelling on the incision next to my belly button is huge and painful. Lots of bruising too. This is on my left side. Can anyone give me some insight on how long this will take to normalize? Thanks in advance.

  3. My husband is 4 weeks post op and having trouble with most solid protein. We've tried canned chicken, eggs in all forms, most cooking methods of pork and beef. He handles cheese well... but that can't be his sole food source. Any suggestions for non liquid protein sources?

Hi all, I'm scheduled for my endoscopy on Monday at 10:15am. I woke up today with a sore throat this morning and little bumps in the back of my mouth. I feel perfectly fine otherwise but now I'm really nervous that they will cancel my procedure. Did this happen to anyone? If so, did they still see you even though you didn't have any other symptoms? This whole process has been overwhelming for me. I found out last week that I need my gallbladder removed because of gallstones. I really can't afford a set back Thanks for listening and sharing your experience if you have one.

Ever since the surgery I feel like my mouth is dryer than before. I try to stay hydrated but I always feel thirsty. My surgery was Sept. 19th. So it's been like 5 months. No matter how much water I drink I still feel thirsty. I admit I could probably be drinking more water but I still feel like this isn't normal. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  14. I can't believe that I'm down 50 pounds since surgery on 11/22/16. I'm down 62 since 8/3/16. Best decision ever! I feel so much better and I can't wait until I can see the difference in my body. However, my clothes do feel bigger and I can comfortably sleep on my stomach lol so wins there! I can't wait to continue this journey. Question: Does/has anyone experienced incision pain more than 3 months after surgery? Just curious as I joined a boot camp and things such as burpees cause pain in my incision site. Thanks! Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App

After calling the doc this is normal but gross still and occurs at the most active times which are also most inconvenient... this is not a stretch by any means when I repeat it drips ... anyone else have this?

I haven't had surgery yet, but I'm thinking ahead to how I'll manage everything post-op. For pureed foods, has anyone ate the pouches of "baby food" like Ella's or Plum? I actually eat them when I'm out all day hiking because they're a convenient way to get veggies, fruit, and liquid while on the trail. They seem like they'd be a good solution to the weeks of pureed food too?

Hello, I'm 3 days post-op and I developed a low grade fever while in the hospital. They told me it was nothing to be concerned with, as my body is not taking deep breaths and my lungs are "sticky". The fever still comes and goes since I've been home. Has anyone else experienced a fever like this and also pain while taking deep breaths? Coughing about sends me through the roof.

I'm about 11 weeks post op and suddenly noticed about five different bruises on my upper legs. Both legs. I don't recall bumping into anything. I searched the forums and only see posts about bruising around incisions/ belly area immediately post-op. My PCP ran labs last week and everything is normal. Is this type of bruising common with bariatric surgeries? Anybody know the cause? Thanks!

Hello everyone. How are you doing? I'm feeling a little discouraged and depressed. I had lapband surgery on February 10th. I went in at 226lbs and then dropped to 214lbs. I checked my weight today and I am 215.5lbs. Has anyone hit a plateau? I'm currently on soft foods, but I figured I'd be dropping more weight. I haven't even had my first fill yet. Has this happened to any of you? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

  26. Just curious how long it took for your incisions to feel normal again? Specifically the largest one. It has been sore today while trying to sit or put my socks on. And its tender if I touch the stomach around and above it and between another incision. No redness, discharge or swelling or anything like that, just tender and burns at times. Other than that, I feel good!

  27. I started working out by taking aqua aerobics classes. At what point do I change my diet due to the additional caloric expenditure? My typical intake is 900-1100 calories and 80-90g protein a day. I have lost 100lbs in 5 months with no exercise other than daily life activities. Yesterday I did a 60 min class and 15 mins of "swimming" laps. My ability to actually swim is a step above doggy paddle. Acording to sparkpeople that was 700cals burned. My intake yesterday was 1025cals and 77g protein. I know, in general, you are not supposed to eat back the cals burned while exercising but most people don't eat as few calories as a post op does. 300 net cals doesn't seem like …

Got to move onto full liquids today. And had cream of wheat with so happens to be my first "real" food since before my liquid diet and man... it is bizarre how full I got so quickly. I had 3 tablespoons in my bowl, but was full after about 2 maybe a little more. Super happy that this is working for me! So full. But my belly seems to be happy at this point

I have finally joined the LOSERS BENCH! My sleeve was done 3/2. Felt nauseated as crap right after surgery, but Zofran has helped. Morphine/Diluadid, and the PCA pump were my best friends in the hospital. Didn't experience the gas I heard so much about.....I think it was because I read what so many have said about walking........I did a total of 20 laps around the unit before discharge! 1, then 2, then 4, then 6, then 7 more! My only issues were peeing every 3 hrs at night when I got home, finding a comfortable position to sleep in, and coughing without it killing my stomach. Overall, I'm so happy!!!!!!!

Let's cheer each other up with little non-scale victories! For me this week: Going to put on a white blouse in the morning and realizing that the only bra that fits me is purple. Oooops! Sipping a protein shake through a colleague's birthday lunch in which everyone was eating burgers, fries, onion rings, brownies, and drinking mocktails. I got through it and even had a good time! (but please please don't have them schedule another one anytime soon.) Dashing off to a meeting and actually walking out of a shoe because they're getting too loose. Hey everyone... I'm almost 4 weeks post op and feeling amazing... I'm down over 40lbs from the day I started my pre-op diet and I'm feeling like I was given a new lease on life... I really want this to work, and would like to find a nutritionist in my area to help guide me along the road - but I'd prefer someone with experience with "sleevers"... My surgeon (and the support groups) are in NYC and a huge pain to get to... I live in Rockland County so someone in Rockland or Northern Westchester would be great! Thanks in advance for any suggestions and thank you all for being part of this forum, which I've found super inspiring and supportive..

Hey everyone! I just hit my 3 week post op mark! Woohoo! Though, I've regretted this surgery since about Day 2 because of all the issues I'm having. Don't feel too comfortable going into those issues on this forum. However, every single time I eat or drink something, my sleeve starts gurgling and crying and whatnot haha. It's embarrassing. My husband is always like "are you still hungry?" Bless his heart, he always offers more food because he thinks I'm still hungry due to those sounds. Anyone else experience this? Does it go away over time? Anything that can help? If it helps at all, I take Nexium in the morning. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I work in a clinic , where I walk a lot and have to pick up things up to 30 lbs. I was thinking of two weeks off should be more than enough. Thoughts please, thanks in advance!!
