I don't understand what is happening... I exercise 3 or more times a week. I'm getting in the fluids and protein and I swear I've had 2-3, 2 or more week stalls in a row and I have no clue why. I'm supposed to lose 17 more pounds when I see my surgeon for my 6 month check-in and at this pace, I don't see that happening.

Got some great news from the scale this morning, I'm officially down 100.4 pounds from my starting weight of 314.6 on 12/7/16. That was the date I started my pre-surgery diet, and my surgery date was 12/21/16. I never dreamed it would work out so well. So close to my ultimate goal, but this was an unofficial goal for two reasons. First, 100 pounds just sounds nice Second, when I did Weight Watchers about 10 years ago, the lowest I ever got was 214, so I wanted to get there again. Before that, I can't even remember the last time I was so low, maybe 25 years ago. Anyway, just wanted to share!

HW: 257 SW: 236 CW: 185 GW: 150 I'm getting there slowly but that's fine with me. Taking it one day at a time I'm 5 1/2 months post op. I use to complain about walking. Now if someone asks let's walk then I say let's go.

I am 3 month post op & 45 lbs lost.....but guys I blew it this week !!! Blew it big time. All of my bad habits crept back & I allowed myself to eat a ton of simple carbs. I ate frequently. I ate till I was uncomfortably full & experienced terrible guilt afterwards. It was as if the past 3 months didn't happen. I am so ashamed of myself but more importantly so worried that I may not get back on track tomorrow. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

This is part funny story part cautionary tale. I, like many post-oppers, intended to be super strict with my diet and never even look twice at my old bad habit foods. I kept the house clear of all bad foods and had gone through the pre-op diet and the many stages of post-op eating. My fiancee (now husband) stood with me through it all and for a person who loves his food and never gains weight (lucky!!!) He was suprisingly supportive of the lack of food in the house. So when he asked me to pick up pizza after all this time of patient support, I agreed, not even suspecting what was about to happen. The thing about pizza is that it smells soooo good! So I thought I would jus…

Today is my 6 month surgeryversary, and so I finally got my but in gear and pulled some dresses out of the closet to take "same dress" status shots. The results shocked the heck out of me. The first pic is probably at my biggest weight; around 317. The second is maybe 1 month post op (so about 45 pounds down) and the third one -- that's today. For the first time in as long as I can remember, I'm looking at these after pics of me and thinking....am I still "fat"? I guess technically I am; still fall just in that "obese" range. But I don't look at them and just sigh at my body the way I used to. Add to that that I go to the gym 4-5 days a week,…

HW: 330 SW: 275 Cw: 215 Lost almost 20 inches from my waist! I am so excited to share that on my 100th day since surgery, I am almost in One-derland! To celebrate..and for a much needed stress reliever, my family and I have a 5 week long cross country camping and hiking trip planned in 17 days!! I'm so excited that I get to participate! I had honestly thought that I would never bee able to be this active again. But I'm running....yes running...a mile and half everyday, going strength training 30 minutes a day, and swimming laps for an hour. I feel amazing. The effects of my osteoarthritis have almost completely gone away! The amount if energy I have now is incredible. I f…

I was just thinking the other day about how long it's been since I was sleeved. It has been so long I rarely think about it any more. I remember in the early days almost all of the posting was from people who were either pre- or within a year or so post surgery. I decided to register here and see if anyone has any questions they'd like from an oldie Up front: 360+ was my high. I lost down to 200 "on my own" but when the weight started coming back I decided I HAD to have surgery if I was going to have a fighting chance at staying down. I am older so I do have a lot of loose skin. Due to having been so heavy, I will never be under 200 w/out skin removal which I can…

My husband and I both had the RNY on September 6th 2016. We are now almost 9 months out and have lost a lot of weight. My husband started out at 496 lbs and is now down to 305 lbs. I started out at 304 lbs and am now down to 175 lbs. We have had a long journey together but are both making great progress so far. His first goal weight is to get down to 250 lbs and mine is to get down to 150 lbs. In hoping to hit my 150 lb mark by June 16th which is the date of our 9 month check up. It is now getting harder for me to lose weight because I'm getting closer to my goal weight. But I am determined to still try my best the next 4 weeks to get the last 25 lbs off. After 5 months …

Hi I'm 3 weeks post op and my weight loss has stopped the last few days. I guess I shouldn't be weighing myself daily but it's getting me down. I've lost 2 stone so far 28 pounds but feel like nothing has changed. I'm not dumping or feeling full or sick or anything. I just feel as I did before the op. Just need some friendly advice I guess. Hello all. I am 15 months out and this was a great decision. I am down almost 70 lbs and feel great. I started at 302 when in at 292 for surgery. I am at 227 with my lowest being 216. The first year was a breeze. I would wake up and see I was the same or less and life was good. The first goal I set was 222 lbs as that was the weight I was when I left the Army and thought if I could be that weight again it would prove this was a good decision. I don't really remember the day I hit that, but remember the emotions of it as a win. A few weeks later I was at 216 thinking I was well on my way to Onderland then bam I stopped losing. I hovered around 222 to 225 for mont…

Hi everyone! A bit about me. I had a lapband in 2008 and lost 40kg. I went on to have two babies in 2012 and 2015. My heaviest weight was 152kg in 2008. With the band I got down to 112kg. In 2016 I ballooned to 138kg after my sons birth and gestational diabetes. I'd had terrible reflux and pain after my sons birth which only got worse. I was starting to have bowel issues late 2016 and went for a colonoscopy. I was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease. So in November 2016 I went to have RNY surgery and band removal. My starting weight was 135.2kg. Today I am 108.7kg so I have had a 26kg loss. It's been a slow road and often painful because of my Crohn's - still learning wha…

Did great in the hospital. Had my shake no problem. Came home and ate a shake and pop cycle and spent the rest of Mother's Day vomiting. I was able to stop and sleep Monday and checked in with my surgeon Monday. I was better. I'm still better today just having some pain on my left side. Like gas pain but I haven't taken any pain meds today. My husband is having bypas tomorrow and I wanted to be there for him but I'm not sure I'm up to it. Where was everyone at this point?

Of course, I live in Texas and the temp here is triple digits everyday, but this is ridiculous..... even in 72 degree air conditioned house I am dripping. Can anyone out there relate?????? I am hoping that after the surgery, i will get rid of the excess ghrelin and it will go away.....

I was sleeved by Dr. Juan Lopez-Corvala. The doctors and nursing staff at Hospital Angeles were absolutely phenomenal. Dr. Lopez visited at least 2 times per day and his coordinator, Bibi Maal was available for whatever I needed. The hardest part for me is getting all my medications down. I had to switch one of the meds I was on previously from a sustained release from to a regular tab and crush it. BLAHHH tastes gross. Other than that I am healing well. Just have to push myself to get up and walk around because I'm tired, physically and emotionally. Truthfully, I did have a bout of "what the hell did I do" but then reminded myself of what a better life I'm going to have…

Hi fellow sleevers! I am finally on the other side and beginning a whole new chapter in this book of getting healthy. My surgery on the 24th was very uneventful as was my recovery. I was in the hospital for only one night. I'm not a rookie to surgeries as I have about 6 of them in the last 10 years. My last one before being sleeved was to remove 2 brain tumors and I spent 2 weeks in the hospital and almost a year recovering. This surgery, well, was a piece of cake. To back up a little, I only had to lose 8lbs. before surgery and I only had to be on a liquid diet the day before. Now, let me tell you if you're used to eating a lot(and I was) even one day of the liquid die…

I had posted last week that I fell off the wagon but I did not qualify what I meant...do here goes I literally 900 calories per day instead of my usual 600 cal and I00 gms of carbs instead of my usual 50gms. I confessed, repented and got back to protein & excercise........ well I gained 5 pounds in 1 week.....which is mathematically impossible as I did not consume 20,000 additional calories in a week....so what gives? My Overall weight loss is 42 lbs in 3 months. At this point I will take a stall but gain ???? Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

Since you've started your journey, what has been your favorite NSV (Non-Scale Victory)? I am just starting my journey and a thread like this would be really encouraging at the moment. Surgery fear is starting to kick in, so I am trying to keep my mindset positive. For me, I can't wait to ditch the spandex underclothes & be able to run around the park with my kids & take them to the pool without hiding. Yesterday I realized how much time I spend every day tugging my clothes away from my body & sucking it in... I really can't wait to not worry about that all day anymore. It's hard to wrap my mind around how much different my life will be in a years time. It…

Today was my orientation with Kaiser. Tomorrow is my appointment with my surgeon and dietician. I excited to get a goal to work towards. There's so many reasons I want to do this. I'm 32 years old and my knees hurt when I walk up a flight of stairs! I want to be able to chase my son around and play with him. I do want another child down the road but only after I've lost my weight. I want to be able to cross my legs and ride my bike in Monterey without feeling like I'm dying! I even want to be able to wear nylons again! And wear pretty shoes. I'm hoping it's a quick process but if not I'm committed to the process. So far kaiser has been excellent! Pic of me currently... My journey started only about 9-10 months ago when I first learned about the VSG. I approached my doctor, she agreed, and we started the process for insurance. However, by about April of this year I was entirely fed up with the constant hoops they were making me jump through, and the co-pays I was having to pay even just to meet their requirements. I started looking into self-pay with little hope as I don't just have that kind of money lying around. Then I saw Alex's post for the $4399 surgery in Mexico. My brother had suggested looking at Tijuana surgeons, but I had shot it down. I did some digging, educated myself, asked a ton of questions, and within a month I had a do…

The point where I knew I wanted surgery last year was when I went to the opening of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Hollywood, CA and I couldn't ride Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey. It was so embarrassing, I went with some girls from work and because my restraint didn't make that third click, they quickly ushered us off the ride to a tester seat, no one knew what was going on (except me) and I finally had to YELL at the team member just to let them ride without me. Because literally no one knew what was going on and I just kept saying "just let them ride" and they were like "no no let's just check really quick" and I just said "please just let them go" and …

Well I started with lapband surgery back in 2009 and had it emptied for a few years while going through IVF and then the pregnancy. When it came time to start adding fill again I had a lot of trouble because of scar tissue that had built up under the band so it was replaced, then that one was replaced because of a slip. As a result I had gastric bypass surgery last year but barely lost weight in recovery and have gone up and down ever since. The surgeon wants me to have an overstitch procedure to reduce the size of the pouch but unexpectedly I am pregnant again so everything is on hold for the moment. I'm very down and miserable about my weight as after getting down to…

First time poster, long time lurker A bit about myself, I was sleeved in 2014 at 136kg and manged to get down to 96kg before finally falling pregnant [yay!]. Now I am 1 year postpartum and my weight is rapidly spiraling out of control again The head hunger and being home all day with bubs is my biggest problem, I graze ALL day on sugary quick grab foods. Having a little one I find myself tired and am seriously lacking motivation with jumping on the weight loss band wagon as my son is my first priority. I've always had a larger sleeve than most and was able to eat half a sandwich, now after being pregnant I can eat a whole sandwich no worries. Being pregnant was …

Well BP FAM , I'm back again with a rant. My husband and I were talking last night and he made comments in how he wished I never had this surgery. He stated that my butt has gone almost away and he felt all unneeded to do was tone up and lose my belly initially. Well, first of all, I don't know how you tone up 242 lbs with BMI 0f 39( which was my initial weight and BMI). So.... he proceeded to run his mouth about all the things I can't do like drink gallons of sweet tea, eat cake and Cookies, go to restaurants and eat appetizer , entree and dessert.. You know all of the healthy stuff that led me to be 242 lbs in the first place. Well, I was really hurt by his comments. …

I am 36 years old and a full-time single mother to a 4 year old and a 2 year old, (both girls). When I realized it was time to make a serious change is when I went to the doctor after my youngest turned one and I weighed more than I had when I checked in to the hospital to deliver her! I was so hopeless and embarrassed. I just felt like I was at my absolute rock-bottom. I am only 5' 0", so weighing over 220 at my heaviest just made everything so hard. I thought to myself, I am too young to feel this old. All I wanted to do was eat and sit on the couch watching t.v. I have two little girls looking at me for their example of what a woman is. I had recently left an abusive m…

Hello everyone! I just had my operation on Monday, the 23rd. I found this forum and thought I would share a bit of my history. I learned how out of control my weight had become by accident. My little brother used to save all our cans and recycling so he could offset his allowance. You go to the plant and they weigh your car before and after. You get paid the difference. We unload and go to weigh out. I wanted to grab the receipt from the clerk so I had to step out. The scale dropped massively. The clerk (and myself) were shocked. I had made it up to approx 650lbs. I dropped my brother back off at home and I realized I had to make some changes. Over the years I …
