I could not regain ANY of my of energy, could not eat/drink hardly anything. On May 11th I was sitting at work and began to have severe pain in my shoulder. I laid down in my car during lunch and went back to work after lunch....at this point I was in tears to my boss I was in such pain. I finished the day out, went home and went straight to bed. At 5:30 the following morning I called my mom to take me to the ER...(she lives 2 hours away) by the time she got to me and we got to the ER it was around 9:30am....by 11am I was in surgery again. Hello everyone... I'm posting today because I have a bit of a problem. I was getting most my exercise in using an elliptical, but I have somehow managed to hurt my knee in the process. I'm 4 1/2 months po currently. Needing so advice and guidance now. The er put me on crutches and I'm not allowed to put any weight on my leg until I see the orthopedic Dr on Friday. What exercises would you all recommend to keep me active until I'm off these darn crutches? Assuming I don't kill myself using the crutches lol.

The morning of my surgery right before they took me into the room I cried. I think it was tears of fear and joy. So far I'm happy with my decision. I should be back to work Wednesday and I'm pretty excited. I still experience gas pains and I'm still scared to lay flat lol. I started thick liquids today. I was only able to have 5 oz of protein shake at a time. I've also been doing my daily 3" min walks. I can't get a hold of my nutritionist so I was wondering what else could I have on this thick liquid stage. Also I am documenting my journey on Instagram so if you are interested it's @thebandedlife

Even though my surgery was only 3 months ago. I feel like my journey really started 5 years ago. I was struggling with an anxiety, depression, and most of all ADD but I'd always been too scared to ask for help. 5 years ago I finally did. I got put on medicine to cope with my ADD and that helped relieve the anxiety too. It also helped me start loosing weight. I lost 20ish lbs from the medicine in the first year and eventually started trying to diet and exercise. I don't know what my weight was at that first doctors appointment. I could never face it, but at 22, I was already having health issues and was put on BP meds. I do know, several years later after I had been die…

Hi. I'm new to the forum. I had sleeve on May 6, 2014 by Dr. Hung in Lincoln, NE. He and his staff are great. I had seen someone else before I saw Dr. Hung, and switched because I was given confusing information, and the staff couldn't answer questions to my satisfaction. He and his staff are so organized, and quick to return my e-mail questions. They are so positive and encouraging. Just had my 5-week appointment and weight loss is right on track. I highly recommend this surgery and this surgeon.

My mother and father are over weight. They had 4 girls. 3 which were perfectly skinny and then there was me. I was always "solid" never a tiny kid.. Then I started to get sick. I was 12 that's when I had my first experience with Prednisone. I went from 130 pounds to 170+ in a few short months. It was traumatizing. I got made fun of so bad in school that I got home schooled. When I was 12 I remember asking my mom about gastric bypass surgery. She explained to me I'd never be big enough to get it. I had hope at one point or another in my life. I've dieted numerous times I've walked. Did the gym. I've binged I've grazed. I've did it all. Now that I'm 24 and 252 pounds from p…

I got a letter from my medical insurance provider today. It wasn't the thick package with all the info I should have read up on. It was a thin envelope with one sheet of paper inside. I was nervous. Till I read it. And then I was confused. The first line reads: But then it goes on to say: So..... yes? They've approved me but they aren't guaranteeing that they'll pay? *does the RCA Dog pose* Anyone familiar with this? Should I be celebrating?

Hi everyone! I have just decided this past week to pursue weight loss surgery (possibly the sleeve). I can't take hearing how pretty I would be if I lost weight another time. My final straw was lying to my husband..... He is taking me on a cruise for our anniversary... We were deciding on flying or driving. I lied to him... I told him I was scared of flying so we agreed We would drive to the port.... I can't take any of this anymore. I want a life of less fear and more LIVING. I just pray that I will qualify and not have any issues getting this done. I need help!!!

Anyway now I have been so worried that in not knowing I had this, maybe I have worsened the condition. She made me aware because she saw it on my medical chart from 3 years ago. The doctor who ordered the MRI and found it originally, never bothered to tell me. Now I am paranoid about liver cirrhosis or that I may have really messed up my liver by more years of eating badly. I have a ultra sound scheduled Tuesday so we shall see. Anyone experience anything like this? Thanks

I never had a weight problem until I hit 30 and 3 weeks before my 30th I had our 3rd child. She's 7 now. I have spent 7 years 50+ lbs overweight. I had to have emergency spine surgery or face paralysis last March. The spine surgeon said a lot of my back pain has to do with my weight. I'm looking forward to the bypass as I have a stomach loaded with gastritis that leave me nauseated or vomiting a majority of the time. I'm nervous as an organ I was born with will be gone but so will chronic nausea, vomiting, and extra pounds.
