I just got my surgery date, March 10th!!!! Anyone else having the RNY in March?

I will be having mine on March 3. I got my approval this week!

I don't have a date yet, but I was told at my first consult that it will be in March. I have my last 2 appt's on Tuesday, then it's a matter of waiting for the appt call from the surgeon. Insurance is already approved, so I'm good there. I'm hoping for on or just before the 17th, my youngest (18yrs old) has that week off for spring break. It would be nice to have someone home with me for the first week. I get terribly bored, reading makes me sleepy and daytime tv is the worst. With him home we can play cards, put a puzzle together and just hang out which is something I normally don't have much time for.

Im having Bypass on the 19th, i start my pro-op diet next week on the 5th, super excited!!!

What's the pre op diet? They never mentioned one to me except for the day before.

Surgery is march 24, pre op diet starts march 10th

I have united health care. It only took a couple of days for them to approve it but it still took a few weeks from my final appointment until I could actually schedule my date while I waited for paper work to go back and forth.

I have blue cross blue shield it took 2 days to get the approval.

I have BCBS Anthem my paperwork was submitted Friday...waiting on approval!!

Hi Karrilunney, Preop diet for me is 2 weeks liquid diet? I don't know if every doctor does it, mine does, its to help shrink your stomach and shrink the surrounding organs to help them get in their easier. They do it so that it's easier to maneuver in there. When is your surgery? The liquid diet at first is frightening but it ends up being really easy to do, my doctor gives me metagenics products it's all those Protein shakes and they give you Fiber to not bind up. I don't mind it much I have already done it once for lapband surgery. I am of course now going for the bypass. So I don't know maybe ask your doctor if you still have time?
