1. My rny was March 13th. I average about 8-10 ounces in an hour but I still have a hard time getting 64oz a day in.
2. 6 weeks out today and down 42 lbs! Woop woop! Feeling really good about myself today!
3. Also, keep in mind that Biotin helps with new hair growth. It won't keep your hair from falling out unfortunately.
4. I'm 6 weeks out today. At my appointment 3 weeks ago, I asked how many calories I should be taking in, and I was told not to worry about it until my next appointment in May. I average about 600. Sometimes I'm lucky to hit 400. Like today for instance, I just wasn't hungry and had to force myself to eat. I ate a Greek yogurt, a cheese stick and 2oz of tuna.
5. The hand to mouth motion was the biggest thing for me. I went from smoking menthol lights to no nicotine and I was fine. I have a friend who bought liquids with different nicotine levels to wean herself off.
6. Really?? It bleeped out the word H00kah
7. The one I got was flavored like coffee. They come in all different flavors. Some people call them hookah sticks because they come in hookah flavors. I got mine at a local head shop. I paid $10 for one and it lasted me a week and a half and I was done.
8. I used a nicotine free e cig and it helped tremendously.
9. About a little after a week out I had it for a good 4 or 5 nights. My doctor had me take a sleep aid but it didn't really work. I'll be 5 weeks out on Thursday and I haven't had it since.
10. Isn't that for dry mouth?
11. Me too! Thanks! Congrats on the weight loss too
12. Yeah, it seems everyone hits it the third week. I was hoping it wouldn't hit me. Wishful thinking lol. Did you guys up your protein or water intake to break it?
13. Good luck to everyone today!
14. 18 days out and I've hit a stall the last 4 days. So frustrating. I'm getting all my protein in, 60g, but I'm having an issue getting 64oz of fluids. I find it hard because of having to sip. Going to try upping my protein intake to see if that helps.
15. I have a desk job. My doctor said two weeks but my employer will pay me for 4 weeks so I'm taking the 4 weeks because I could use the break.
16. I wasn't given a laxative pre-op, just had the two week liquid diet. I had a bm about a week after surgery and am now back to my normal schedule like before surgery. The only thing that has changed is my urine output. It's a LOT less.
17. I eat like every two hours or so. My doctor gave me some sample menus so I try to follow those. They do help. If I don't follow a schedule, I don't get my protein in. I'm having a hard time with the liquids.
18. I only eat the amounts I'm allowed, like 3 or 4 ounces, and I'm done. I haven't really felt hungry yet, but when I eat, I'm satisfied. I don't feel stuffed or anything. I do notice that if I eat too fast, I get the hiccups. I was so thirsty this morning that I took a huge gulp of water without even thinking about it and it hurt. I'll never do that again lol
19. I am craving popcorn soooooo bad. The only time I ate popcorn before surgery was at the movies which was like every other month or so if not longer. I don't know why I want it so bad, but I do
20. When I wake up I literally run to the bathroom to brush my teeth. I brush before I go to bed but my breath is absolutely disgusting in the morning lol
21. The magic of vinegar! I use it for everything! Thanks for the tip!
22. I have found "Eating well after weight loss surgery" to be pretty good. Weight loss surgery for dummies actually isn't too bad either lol. I also follow a couple blogs like, The World According to Eggface, Emily Bites and Bariatric Foodie. Hope that helps
23. Haha.. I have bad gag reflex, I never swallow gum lol
24. Ugh. I hate it. I went out and got some mints and gum. It sucks :/
25. Anybody out there experiencing bad breath or a bad taste in your mouth since surgery? I'm exactly 2 weeks out, on pureed food for two days now. I can't quite explain it but it makes me want to use mouth wash and brush my teeth constantly.
