3 month post op. Although I am losing weight and finding my clothes becoming looser, I still have this feeling of shame / embarrassment and thinking how shameful I feel of putting on so much weight in my late twenties. Only my parents know what surgery I had and I didn’t tell any of my friends. I’ve told them I’m on a diet. Was feeling little bit like my normal self yesterday until i was asked out for a meal with distant family and realise I can’t go as I can’t eat much. Anyone else feeling anything Similar?

Anyone else get a “ice cream headache” from drinking small amounts cold water quickly? I know I used to chug water down but seems I’m know sensitive to it even more! Seems like the only time I had them before was quickly drinking a smoothie too quickly but never with ice water!

I was sleeved on june 4th 2018. I have not reached 100lbs milestone yet. I am feeling low and unmotivated as if the surgery was of no use to me. I was 267lbs pre-op . Currently i am 205lbs. Everyone is talking about loosing this much and that much. I feel as if i am the only one with such stalls and unsuccessful story. I want to loose at least 40 to 50lbs more. I am not happy about the fact that sometimes i can eat more and sometimes just lil. I don't know if it's right or not. Probably everyone was right you loose the most in first 6 month and than its difficult. For me it was first 3 months and thats it. I am not sure how to proceed what to do. I am just getting…

Its been one week since my surgery and my emotions are running rampant. My husband and I began this journey together 6 months ago, He has not scheduled his surgery yet because of seasonal work demands. We had an argument early on, about into month 4 pre-op. that I was doing all the shopping, cooking, weighing, measuring, and he was reaping all the benefits. He wasn't accountable for his own diet and I felt like the diet police. He picked up responsibility for his own weighing, measuring and tracking then...or so I thought. Last week while I was in the hospital I discovered otherwise. he didn't know that I'd set up our accounts to have receipts sent online. To reduce paper…

Hey y'all. So I'm 6 months post op and my husband is 3-5 months away from surgery. And I need advice from the veterans. Anyone go through this with your partner. We don't eat the best and like most overweight couples are each other's worst enablers. We don't like to say no to the other and sometimes it's just easier to grab fast-food. What advice do you have for us. I'd love to meal prep but our freezer is kinda small and almost always filled to capacity. I know we should probably anex the ready to eat things and spend a day cooking. But it does seem like tons of work so hellllllp

Hi everyone. I am glad to find this forum. I had my surgery last Thursday. I am 6 days out and I feel hungry...almost all the time. I have yet to feel super full. I have not been nauseous at all and no heartburn, I am grateful for both of those things. The first 2 days after surgery were painful but the last few days I've felt good. I have heard people say that they are not hungry in the beginning but I am. My stomach feels empty. I ended up eating an egg today and I was able to eat the whole thing no problem. I have also heard people say there was no way they could eat a whole egg. I am starting to think that the Dr. didn't make my stomach small enough. Anyone else…

As it seems to be the topic of a few videos I've watched during my research, I thought I'd ask if there was anything you've learned since the operation you chose to have, that you wish you'd been told about before hand and weren't? Good or bad

I’m 6 days post op from a robotic gastric sleeve. My large incision on my side is killing me. I cannot get comfortable in any position. I absolute can’t lay on either side. Sometimes it even hurts on my back. It hurts sitting up. I would expect the pain to get better, but I feel like it’s getting worse. That incision kind of indents in, almost like a stab wound. This is my sixth abdominal surgery. So I’m familiar with pain and recovery. I’ve never had anything like this. I mentioned it to my surgeon in the hospital. He said yeah that is where the stapler went in, it’s going to be sore. Someone please tell me it gets better!!! My back is killing me from laying on it.

Hola! The majority of everyone knows I am tackling a marginal ulcer. It was pretty much healed up, but they I mysteriously started getting severe nausea last Tuesday - present. I've had a bit of nausea since surgery.... but now it is SO much worse. Gets way worse by 3 or 4pm through bedtime. I've been on Zofran, Phenergan, and Reglan, all of which didn't help (the Reglan may have, but it made me fall asleep instantly, lol). I also take some aloe juice because why not, I guess. The emergency room gave me a script for Compazine. I took some last night along with a 40mg Pepcid and it worked. FINALLY. Compazine is for severe nausea AND an antipsychotic. Has anyone taken this …

I'm almost three months post op sleeve surgery. Ive been pretty lucky and have not had many issues but I do have this tightness feeling through rib cage area. At two weeks post op I saw my primary care doctor and told him about the tightness. He was not concerned and said my body will continue to change. The feeling is a tightness. Sometimes worse than others. Feels like i am unable to take in deep breaths. I had sleeve and gastric sleeve surgery. I don't have any pain. Wondering if anyone else has had this weird feeling. Thank you

Hi there! I had my surgery on November 23rd, 2018 and I weighed 369lbs. As of today, I'm 295lbs. In total, I've lost 74lbs in 3 months. Is that the appropriate amount to be losing? Should I have lost more than that 3 months post op? I always feel like I could be doing better...any advice would be a huge help! Thanks! Here's a comparison photo from the last 3 months. [emoji4]

It has been 6 weeks since my gastric sleeve. I am down about 22 pounds on a good day. I have had two stalls already one around 15 pounds and now another and it is driving me crazy. Is it a stall or am I a slow loser? How do you know the difference? I am exercising more but nothing too intense. My nutritionist said that because my calorie intake is low not to push the exercising too hard. I drink lots of water, I get my protein, but have not always eat perfectly. I ate cookies at my Uncles memorial service and have eaten breaded chicken quite a few times. 22 pounds in 6 weeks, to the experts out there how does that sound, normal, slow, etc? Should I stop weighing mys…

I tried my first of these today....I had one sample from my dietician once I am allowed to swallow pills and figured I would try it. Seemed fine, had breakfast and now all day so far i have nauseau. my first time since surgery with nauseau and I just want to hang my head down and blah - I don't know. Of course this is after I ordered three bottles of them because they are on sale and I had a coupon and since I have to pay shipping I figured why not get 3 months worth. Sigh.... Does anyone take these and take them in the evening? I was thinking once I get them if I try to take them at night maybe I wont get nauseau or maybe this is just a fluke.

Maybe it’s too soon to start worrying but I can’t help but feel disappointed. I started my liquid diet last Monday (2/18) and was sleeved last Wednesday (2/20) and have only lost 4lbs. I’m 5’4”, started at 235lbs (40 BMI) and 6 days post op only 231lbs. I get 64oz of liquids in, I eat anywhere from 60-80 grams of protein, keeping my calories around 500, and started walking the day I came home from surgery. What gives?! Am I being too hard on myself? Am I doing something wrong? I keep reading everyone’s success stories and it makes me feel so disappointed. Any advice?

Okay so I’m 1 week and 2 days post op, and yes my energy is low and I expected that, I’m following the post op liquid diet. I’m drinking water, broth, strained soups and eating jello. However, last night I felt like I had to go to the bathroom, I couldn’t go but my body flushed and then I went pale as a ghost and my eyes rolled in the back of my head. I felt like I was going to pass out. I learned today that I bottomed out...has this happened to any of you? If so what steps did you take to prevent it from happening again?

I had bypass last Monday. The next day I had what seemed like heat rash or fungal rash under breasts and at my sides. I thought it was due to lying on a plastic hospital mattress. I went home and tried an antifungal cream, diaper cream without much relief. I also ended up with thrush and started an oral rinse for that 4 days after surgery. That is improving but the rash just keeps getting worse. I called the Md over the weekend and they think it is a reaction to the adhesive from the surgery and to start Benedryl and ot use hydrocortisone cream. I started that and it's been 24 hours and the rash is still spreading and itchy now covering my whole abdomen, sides and spr…

I have been on a CPAP machine since 2012. To be perfectly honest, I love my machine. I cannot sleep without it and I do not even try to. My doctor keeps going on and on about how so many months post-op I will likely be able to come off the machine. But what if I don't want to? Has anybody had thoughts like this as they were post op? It's not 100% the case that just because you are overweight you need to have a CPAP machine. I believe that I have had sleep apnea probably for most of my life. Just based on how my mother described me sleeping indicates that I was at least predisposition for it. I'm a little apprehensive and a little more reluctant to think about giving it up…

You know with the sleeve how you're supposed to wait 30 mins after meals and no eating with. Sometimes it takes me so long to eat so little and I want a drink so bad I just decide the food isn't worth it so I can start timing for a drink [emoji28] [emoji28] [emoji16]

Hello I had the sleeve done last Friday the 15th. I am 20 years old and weighed at 352 before my 3 week pre op liquid diet. I am now 303 at 8 days post op. Sounds great but it seems like it didn’t even make a dent. How much protein should I be Intaking right now? I can barely finish my 11 oz-30g of protein shake through out the day. Tips or how to be able to take more or am I okay for now?

Okay so 17 days out from being sleeved and here I am for a big family wedding. My nephew is getting married and he’s been engaged for 2 years. No expense has been spared by either set of parents and its more of an entire weekend rather than “just” a wedding. Me and hubs have had our airline tickets and hotel reservations for over 6 months and the ENTIRE family is flying in from multiple countries to attend. So I’ve only been on purées for 3 days and here I am traveling and in a hotel. After a loooong 8 hrs travel, I managed to drink 60 ounces water and eat zero protein. I did bring some of the oatmeal and hot chocolate protein and had room service bring me a b…

I had surgery last Monday. I had the gastric bypass. I’m able to time myself and every two minutes I’m able to take about 1 to 2 ounces of fluid whether it’s water or chicken broth. So over the course of an hour I’m able to drink a cup. Is this too much? Or does fluid go right through your pouch?

Hi everyone! Long time lurker here. Just had my gastric sleeve done on 2/20 and I was wondering how long your bellies stayed bloated and swollen? The pain is manageable but I cannot wait for this bloating to go away. I didn’t carry a whole lot of weight in my stomach to begin with and now I look like I’m 8 months pregnant. I realize it’s probably from the gas and swelling. Following instructions to the T; walk, sip, protein, vitamins, repeat. Just curious of everyone’s experience. 3 days post op and hoping it goes down soon!

Hi Everyone. I’m about 11 months post op and feeling very sh*tty. Unfortunately I lost my job a few months ago and lost insurance so I haven’t been able to get my labs done. I never took Iron to begin with, I was told originally I didn’t need it. I now am wondering if how I’m feeling is an iron deficiency? My hands and feet are very cold, almost numb, more often then not. I’m very weak, no energy, not a lot of strength and confused at times, like can’t concentrate...sometime I feel shortness of breath but I thought it was just anxiety about the other symptoms, it’s just an overall feeling of not feeling well. Has anyone experienced this? These symptoms? Any advice…

Hi all, I am wondering what other’s plans tell them about nut butters. Specifically freshly ground ones that are just that...no additives. I made a shake today with half a banana, a premier chocolate shake and around 1 TBSP of ground peanut butter from Whole Foods. Seems to be fine so far and everything I have read is conflicting but seems to warn against just eating peanut butter and the like due to its stickiness. I know it’s a little higher in fat and carbs but I am sick of shakes and needed a change. Just curious - I can also ask my dietician but it’s the weekend and I don’t really want to bother her about peanut butter thanks!!

Ok, so my doctor said that we would have a hard time even being able to drink as much fluids as we should after surgery. Well that doesn't seem to be a huge issue but my biggest one right now is I am starving! I thought that wouldn't be the case and I am wanting to eat so bad. Right now being in the first week out I am only allowed to have clear liquids like water, broth and I can have some protein shakes. These are not filling me up and tonight has been really bad. I am not one who expects my family not to eat in front of me and tonight was tough not to eat some of the food they were eating. Is this something anyone else had in the beginning? I get it, psychologically I …
