I never had an super high blood pressure, even at my heaviest 450+lbs I was at about 130-140 maybe maximum 150 on a bad day but now although I am still quite fat (320lbs) my blood pressure is barely above 100... Last three days it goes from 96-98 the high one and about 55 the low one. Of course I am dizzy during the day, I try to drink water as much as possible but I do usually the 2l minimum I cannot say my diet is salt free and it’s getting me a bit worried saying if it is already that low how will it be when I get to 250lbs for example? I will see my endocrinologist next week and I have an appointment with my surgeon at the end of the month, but until then I seek…

Hello everyone. Ever since surgery ive been trying to feel full but i’m not feeling full at all no matter what i eat so i was worried and googled it and found out that I dont feel full because of nerve damage in my stomach so i’m supposed to be measuring everything (2 oz per meal) I didnt know this and i’ve been drinking a full cup of milk, a bowl of soup, pudding, a protein shake and a bunch of stuff and sometimes all at once. It’s been all liquids so i thought that maybe its all just sliding through and thats how it fits but after reading all that stuff online im very worried. I cant feel anything but if im supposed to be eating/drinking 2 oz per meal and ive been…

I’ve read some old threads on post op pain, but for those who are going through this right now (mine was 4/10), how is your pain? I feel like yesterday (day after surgery) was excruciating. Today may be mildly better, but I want to cry every time I stand up/sit down or walk. I have a high pain tolerance, so this is freaking me out a bit. I anticipated more soreness than pain. I have some pressure from gas, but it’s really the left side of my abdomen near the incision where the stomach was taken out that’s killing me. I’m also constantly sipping during a hours when I’m awake. Everything burns going down. Milk may be the easiest to drink. I am definitely not hitting …

Soooo how do I even start off. I’m 7 months post Gastric Bypass and loving the results so far. I was having a bit of a problem (and in retrospect that was just me not knowing when to stop) with my food getting stuck in my throat literally only 3 bites in. I was well past 5 months going into my 6th and was thinking I should be able to eat a normal post-op meal! I am doctor google, if you guys didn’t know, and found this awesome post from some guy who was going though the same thing and he suggest Super Papaya Enzyme Plus! I was like yes! I found the miracle. So this chewable mint (tastes really good AND you can chew it?! too good to be true) helps break down protei…

Hi guys! Has anyone here had VSG done already and was a heavy smoker before? Did you follow the guidelines to quit before the surgery and did you have a hard time. I'm 37 and May will be my last visit with the physicians before they submit the authorization for the surgery. I'm diabetic, high blood pressure and high cholesterol which I do take medications for all 3. I've also been a smoker since I was 17 and I've been smoking a pack a day for quiet a while now. I've been having a really hard time trying to quit and I know I don't have much time yet. Has anyone had some complications due to previously being a smoker. I would like to hear your story.

I recently had a hysterectomy and am 5 months out of rny. My surgeon told me she found a staple on my ovary. She wasn't concerned at all and said it happens. They sometimes can get pushed out during the healing process. I am totally weirded out by this. Does that mean my surgery is undoing itself? She took the loose staple out. My new insurance doesn't cover my rny surgeon so I can't go see him. Has anyone even heard of this? Rogue staples floating around inside the body?

Hello Brand new here. I was wondering if it’s normal to feel hungry and actually crave foods after the sleeve surgery? I was hoping my appetite would vanish like magic but I am daydreaming about all the food and then sipping water. It’s getting frustrating and it makes me hopeless about when I am allowed to chew and eat real food that I might choose the wrong stuff.

They told me I had 6 ports during my surgery. There are 6 slices on my abdomen but I also have noticed that my belly button is cut. I dreamt that my belly button was crusty but now it really is. I'm not sure if it's from the surgery or not. Anyone wise have issues week ugh their belly button after our know if that's a typical place for them to cut?

Okay. So it’s been just over two weeks since my surgery (March 27th) but I worry about leaks inside. My outer incisions are healing nicely. But there is a pain under my ribs on my left side and right side(mainly on my left side). Almost like a cramp. It makes it difficult to stand without help, lay on my side, or even sit a certain way. I worry mainly because most of the pain was gone on the left side(it was mainly on my right side). And since Wednesday the pain in my left side under my ribs has started to come back. I keep getting told it’s gas. I’ve tried ice packs I even started taking my pain meds again(I have been able to go without it since the one week mark) I just…

So I’m 3 days out and I’m barely consuming any liquids. And I’m really trying but the gas won’t move. I’m taking gas-x, walking, trying to consume warm liquid. Nothing moving at all. I know everyone is different but some are able to consume the exact amount before leaving the hospital. Any help would be greatly appreciate.

I am wondering, I keep hearing about the “stall” in weight loss, when does that typically happen? What month post op is the most weight lost? I am at my 3 1/2 month and feel like I staled already after 55 lbs. I have about 50 more to go.

Why aren't we supposed to drink something while we are eating? I forgot to ask my nutritionst last week when they put me on soft foods. Sometimes I take small sips of milk with my food and have found it very satisfying; before surgery I always drink a big glass of milk with meals. Is this drinking this little bit of milk harmful?

Ok, I'm 10 days out of surgery and I've developed a bad allergy to the glue the Dr used to seal my incisions. I had to have it removed and now I'm finding it difficult to function with these itchy hives all over my stomach! Has anyone else had any problems with this?

Hello, I'm currently 5 years out, I had gastric bypass roux en y, and it started out wonderful as far as weight loss goes. I've always been anemic but, over the last few months, I've started regaining weight like crazy and I can't figure out why! Also, a recent blood test is showing that my iron levels are through the roof! I so desperately want to figure this out, and somehow jumpstart my weight loss again, but nothing seems to be working. Someone, please help. I've never felt so hopeless in my life.

Hello everyone! I had surgery (RNY) on April 1st, came home yesterday. Everything went fairly well. However, I think I underestimated the possible nausea. I started vomiting what looks like foam... what the world is that all about [emoji15] ?! If I take a pill with a sip, shortly after here comes the foam. Has this happened to anyone else? If so please share how you conquored it. I feel great except for that [emoji16]!

I'm now 9 weeks post-op and I've been having some problems with eating. At meals I'm getting full after a few bites of food. I'm struggling to get anywhere close to my daily protein goals. Both chicken and fish make me either feel sick or actually throw up. I can eat eggs sometimes as long as they're scrambled but can't manage more that a few bites ( I managed 3 for lunch). At this point, even the thought of protein shakes makes me ill. I do get hungry at meal times but, again, can only manage a few bites before I'm full. Pretty much the only protein source I can eat is minced beef, wafer thin ham/turkey, babybels and yoghurt . Even then, the ham/turkey makes my st…

I had gastric bypass on 3/19 and I am about 2 1/2 weeks post-op. My first two weeks after surgery I was on a full liquid diet. I moved on to the next phase of my programs diet on Tuesday. We do not do puréed food at all but move directly to solid proteins. Before switching I was struggling with knowing when I was full or hungry. Once switching to solids I can for the most part tell when I should stop eating. For most foods I can eat about 2 oz. However, tonight I had some homemade chili for dinner and I was able to eat a cup worth of chili. I’m not sure if it was because it was a liquid and had small bits of beans and hamburger but after I ate it I was shocked how much I …

Hey everyone, I'm new here. I had my surgery on October 8th 2018 and everything has been really awesome so far! Well except for the title of this post. Here recently it has become increasingly difficult to poop to the point there was a little bit of blood when I managed to get this one out. I feel like i've tried everything within my power to ease this. From trying to "train" myself so that I'd have a movement at the same time every day, stool softeners, and increasing water intake. I've heard that multivitamins can cause this as well as too much fiber. I drink three premier protein shakes and take a multivitamin daily (Note: I do have one solid meal a day usually a scram…

Hi All! I had surgery on 09/24. I have a dreaded drain tube. It bothers me when I walk, when I sit, pretty much when I do anything. I have it clipped in to my binder and taped so it doesn’t pull. How many of you felt better once your drain tube was removed? Mine is scheduled to be removed tomorrow.

Hi Everyone! This is my first post. I was doing great the first few weeks but now at week 5 I’m struggling. Premier Protein shakes were the only way I was getting enough protein and now they’re upsetting my stomach. My nutritionist is basically useless. After week two they said protein only for 4 days then veggies then advance as tolerated. I think I advanced too fast and everything feels out of whack. Can someone help me get a sense of what I should be eating at week 5? I cannot imagine how I’m going to consume 60grams of protein! I can already see muscle wasting ad I’ve only lost 25 pounds! And OMG the vitamins are making me nauseous! ?

Well it's a good thing I had this done as apparently they found stage 4 cirrhosis due to fatty liver. It is still functioning but because of scarring it gets cut off of blood supply. Losing weight will help. Surgeon cut off fat from it. Not a good diagnosis. Thinking about taking castor oil which helps deplete scar tissue but at the same time I need scar tissue to mend stomach. Scary stuff!

Almost 7 weeks post bypass. I have been able to eat and drink without much issue. Last night I had about 2 ounces of salmon. Felt ok but full, drank some water about an hour later and it felt full compared to my normal to the point that I skipped my Chewable vitamin. But not painful. Then this morning I had some water, later went to have a shake and it’s uncomfortable. I tried about 4 oz over 30 min and switched to water. Then I got 12 ounces of the water in about an hour without issue. I went back to the shake and it was really painful with one sip. I even got a little nauseous. So water only the rest of the day. It feels kind of tight. I later tried a few ou…

Hi guys. I had a bypass on 28th March. I have virtually no pain left at any of my incision sites. On the incision on my right side I have had a large bruise since waking up from surgery. That doesn't hurt at all but the area about 4 inches below that a little to the right (no incisions) I have had a pain when going from lying to sitting position. It seems to be when gravity pulls everything to the left but is then fine once it settles again. I have spoken till the surgeon who thinks it's muscle related and said to keep an eye on it. Just wondering if anyone else experienced this? It feels like something moving around in me. There is no way I could sleep on my side yet…

So I’m going to ask a ridiculous question.. :( Its been 3 weeks since my surgery. So every time I tried drinking Water it makes me sick to my stomach!! Bloated, painful gases, and nauseous. Is this normal? So I’ve been trying my son water which is “infant water” and it’s a big difference. So my question is.. is this okay to drink? I know water is water but you never know.

Hi, I've had gastric bypass surgery on the 13th of April last year and lost 130lbs so far, which is great. The past few months a lot of old eating habits slipped back into my diet, and I started eating junk food frequently again. However, I still didn't regain any weight due to my physically intensive job. This Monday I decided it was time to flip the switch again and go back to the healthy habits I taught myself - proteins first, no junk food, getting enough fiber and drinking more water. All went well, until Wednesday night when I woke up and my stomach felt unwell. I didn't think much of it and assumed it would pass, but once I arrived at work the pain got pr…

Hi Everyone, I had surgery last Friday and have been doing pretty well. Just about to finish the liquid diet today and ready to go to phase two of the diet. I've been getting some random gas pains and was wondering how normal that is? Like how long should we be feeling gas pains after surgery? Also I did a bowel movement on Saturday but haven't since...is that normal? -Matt

Hi There, I'm 1 week post my Gastric Sleeve surgery, been feeling quite happy and excited for taking this decision however I have a question. My surgeon has advised me to drink as much water as possible, I've been drinking around 2.0-2.5 Liters per day excluding juices, but one thing that intrigues me is that my surgeon asked me not to focus on proteins for the first month and just stick to the provided diet. I take my daily protein from skimmed milk and chicken broth, but I feel I am not having enough according to the Bariatastic app I'm barely taking 15g per day. Has anyone's surgeon instructed them to limit their protein intake the first month? I do feel…

So I haven't seen the sub-200 zone in quite a long time (maybe 15 years) and I wanted to say thank you for all the support this forum has offered. Down to 198 and feeling fine. Still some trouble with solid food, particularly meat or dense proteins. Still some issues with gout. But in general I feel great and have no regrets. I'm still out of work, but unfortunately I don't have any control over that process (all the t's are crossed and i's are dotted...just waiting and waiting and waiting). The only advice I can offer to anyone; hang in there. If I can do it, you can too.

I was sleeved in sept 2018. From 180ish to 110 and still losing. I suffered. I told my doctor. And was told smaller bites. Go to the er. I did this. A couple weeks ago, I was finally diagnosed with jackhammer esophagus. Basically feels like like I’m having a heart attack when I eat or drink anything. To the point where I go to the er every other week when I need iv fluids. “I know when it’s time cause I start to pass out when I walk” my doctor at blossom said I just needed time to heal. After making a special trip to Vegas. “Made two special ones there to seek help” I live in Reno. The doctors at UCLA finally did a manomerty study and clear as d…
