This part of my story started last month during a follow-up Dr. appointment where the results of my most recent blood test were to be reviewed and discussed.  The appointment a couple months before, I was told for the first time that I was diagnosed with Type II Diabetes.
I've been "pre-diabetic" for the last couple years, but I've not taken it seriously enough recently.  I've tried several different diet plans, appetite suppressants and just eating right and working out, but I have the hardest time sustaining any of it.  I've also tried to "retrain" my brain with books on the subject and I've not had much luck there either.
I always feel tired, I eat like a pig, I'm morbidly obese and disgusted with myself on a regular basis.
My Dr. said that surgery was an option that she had always considered last resort so I never gave it a thought until I had this Diabetes diagnosis.  At my last visit, I spent more time discussing the surgery option than I've spent with my Dr in the last 5 appointments combined.  She was very serious and "real" with me.  Basically, do something that will work or be dead soon.  It was the first time I even thought I was potentially a good candidate for some type of Bariatric surgery.
I made the call to the Johns Hopkins center for Bariatric Surgery and I have my first consultation date set for September 2018.  This is where my surgery journey begins (or ends)....
