Strange allergies

Ok, I'm 10 days out of surgery and I've developed a bad allergy to the glue the Dr used to seal my incisions. I had to have it removed and now I'm finding it difficult to function with these itchy hives all over my stomach! Has anyone else had any problems with this?

I didn't have that with my bariatric surgery, but I just had it happen with my plastic surgery (we weren't sure if it was the glue or the surgical tape that covered it). Now that they've removed the glue, it should clear up pretty fast. If not, maybe try Benedryl lotion (??) (my plastic surgeon recommended that)

Yes. My skin gets irritated by latex. This time I got sore from the tape. Next time I have any procedure I need to tell them about it.

It also caused raised welts all around the edges where the tape was.

I get contact dermatis from the adhesive of bandaids/plasters and the like. It usually appears after a couple of days. After a particularly bad bout I used an OTT steroid cream, some people need oral cortisosteroids for severe cases
