Abnormal skin issues?
I'm about 50 days post-op and the skin on my forearms and my face have dark patches and small bumps and zits. I'm wondering if this is normal because of the hormonal changes that with the weight loss? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using BariatricPal mobile app

Hot Flashes
Definitely talk to your Primary care Dr or Gynecology Dr about it. I'm 32 and had my surgery on the 1st of April and I'm already feeling changes during my cycle. Pre-menopause runs in my family and I've been told to watch for symptoms. My mother had her Pre-menopause start after she had her last child (me) at 30. My OBGYN told me that Estrogen stores in fat cells and that after losing large amounts of weight your body's hormonal balances can go haywire and cause lots of problems. Good luck no matter what happens in your future and great job on your WL! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using BariatricPal mobile app

The struggle is real...
I'm on the 2nd week of my pureed diet and I've really struggled with it. I keep eating food that's not pureed and I know that it's not what I'm supposed to be doing. I'm just hungry all the time and then I eat too much and hurt. I did some soul searching and realized that I can't do this to myself or I'll ruin my chance of success. So I went back to protein shakes even though I don't have to. Every time I thought I needed to eat I got up and moved around. I'm realizing just how much food effects every facet of my life. So instead of focusing on the food so much I'm going to focus on movement. My Dr told me that it's very important to focus on myself for the next year because I'm going to be going through a lot of physical and mental changes. And that is exactly what I'm going to do! Overeaters Anonymous - Should I go??
I've been to OA meetings in my area and they were helpful and the people were nice. I don't attend anymore but I do have a book that's about the process of OA. It's all about looking within yourself, finding out what your triggers are and learning to cope with them while you give up your trigger foods and habits. It's a lot of self reflection and problem solving. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using BariatricPal mobile app

Is anyone angry about food?
I'm 4 weeks post RNY operation. I've noticed that now that I'm unable to eat food I get angry about food. I get mad that I can't eat, mad at my friends and family because they can eat what they want and I even get angry at the fact that I drive past so many restaurants etc... Is anyone else struggling with this at all? Does anyone have any ideas on how I can change that thought process and not let it bother me so bad? Bypass v’s Sleeve..... help!
I got my RNY surgery on April 1st. Im very heavy and I'm short so thats what I needed for optimum weight loss. My bariatric surgeon told me that they do tons of sleeve to bypass surgeries because the sleeves fail for multiple reasons. My sister in law got the sleeve 2 years ago and had major complications with strictures. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using BariatricPal mobile app

Pre-Op Diet Adherence
I struggled with the strict protein shakes before surgery. The only thing that kept me on track was asking myself if it was worth it a fter all I've had to go through to get this surgery? Eventually you'll be able to eat normal food again so not risking it would probably be a better choice. That's just my opinion. Good luck no matter what you choose!
