Hi all, I'm just wondering if anyone has had any issues with their uvula after surgery. I'm 9 months out and it has never really ever healed I'm going to have it checked out this coming Friday. Thanks!

I was sleeved on 3/13 about 14 days ago. I've noticed my upper thighs seem a little on the bluish color side with some areas that look dark brown and dry. Is this normal ? The blue color is kind of freaking me out .

Hi ALL:) I am 9 months out and have lost 99 lbs!!! My question is I have hit a stall at 177 lbs. (down from 275). I'm looking at what I'm eating and wondering if I may be eating too many carbs. For example, I do eat a couple handfuls of pretzels like every other day, and sometimes a piece of toast. Mainly though my diet consists of veggies and fruit, string cheese, and deli slices, greek yogurt, light Soups. Any ideas? Have a great day!!!

Is this because I'm still eating fast? It's sooo hard to make my meals last 1/2 hour. Arggg. So then I get the hiccups and I know I have eaten or drank too fast. Arggg. Thanks Nancy

I really thought I would have been feeling better by now I am 3 weeks post op and can not walk or stand up for more than 10 minutes without my big incision forcing me to sit down because it hurts so bad. When I sit down it usually stops hurting but every once in a while I have to lay down for it to stop. Any thoughts or advice?

I'm sure this is a question best suited to the surgeon, but since it's Sunday, I can't call the office until tomorrow, so I'm asking here first I'm having an asthma exacerbation right now and I went to the urgent care, where they prescribed prednisone for 8 days. While these pills can be crushed, they have an absolutely vile taste, and it's much less disgusting to swallow them whole. I'm about six and a half weeks out from my sleeve. Do you think it's okay to just swallow them at this point?

  17. Hello am on day 4 of by pre op diet and it's been extremely hard , but am also down 9lbs already. I love my dietitian but she's very regimented. She told me she hasn't had sugar in ten years ( referring to cakes Cookies etc..) and she expects the same from her patients. I know sugar can be a slippery slope but does this seem extreme to you? A co-worker has had the sleeve lost over 200lbs (she's over three years out). She eats and exercise now but still has a cookie now and then. Am thinking about finding another dietitian.

Before surgery I was one of those people who always bought the magazine with the newest diet. Recipe books, my I-books has uploads of books on weight loss. For years I've had clothes in my closet that were; "One day" clothes. Incentive outfits for the spring! Fall! The thought process was Always to GET THIS WEIGHT OFF!!!!!! Imagine the hours, days, weeks, months and years wrapped into that mind set. I've Been Set FREE! Today my thought process is on what I CAN DO, no longer do I hesitate. That is for me the victory! The ONE DAY clothes I've worn and shrunk out of. If your thinking about doing the sleeve, imagine freedom. Thyroid removed hypothyroid and I am free![emoji7…

My surgery (bypass) was yesterday the 27th. My surgeon said everything went well. He also repaired my hiatal hernia. Aside from the gas I was inflated with, I haven't had a lot of pain, just discomfort (I'd say 3 on a scale of 10). I took a nice long walk yesterday to help. I've been sipping icy cold water, which I know some have had problems with. Later this morning, I'm being discharged. Then the real fun begins. [emoji4]

  25. So, my surgeon told me, going into this, that 10% of sleeve patients develop Acid Reflux. I went off the Omeparazole last week after taking it for 5 weeks and as soon as I did, the reflux began. Looks like I am in the unlucky 10%. I'm very happy with the surgery so it's a small price to pay, in my opinion. Anyone else developed reflux since surgery?

I'm barely cramping and I'm very light. I'm on day 4 and it's super light still. What has been your experience? Does it change? Should I worry? Is this normal?

My doctor had me do Clear liquids the first day post op, then come home on soft foods and he told me to progress as I felt comfortable. I'm 10 days out and I'm eating normal (haven't tried red meat or pork), making healthy choices, and trying my best, but I see all these other people on 3-6 weeks of liquid and I'm wondering if my doc is a quack! Anyone else have a doc like mine???? My weight loss is at 30 lbs in 10 days, just FYI.

Hi Everyone, I am new to this board but I really needed to see if anyone else was having/has had this similar issue when it comes to going to the bathroom (pooping if we're being real). I told my doctor and he didn't seem worried, but its really bothersome. I was regular right after surgery with no problems until I hit the Puree stage, ever since then I have been going every two days (which seems ok to me) my only problem is when I do have to go to the bathroom I get an intense stomach ache while going, and sometimes for another 30 minutes afterwards or on one occasion the whole day I felt my stomach was not right. and maybe a little TMI but when I go on these days I…

Like I'm not stupid I've lost like 50 pounds in 3 months. I know I can't hide it forever. But I really am sad that she didn't respect my privacy about the issue. I find the puree stage to be boring for me. I love my liquid (no alcohol or carbonated drinks). The food is not enjoyable. I prefer shakes and water. I try very hard to remember not to drink with my meals or after. I love my sugar free lime popsicles as we as other frozen sugar free. I feel kinda stuck on the food part. Is cheese ok?? Im a cheesehead-Wisc girl here. Im used to making sandwiches and now no more. I cant wait till I start using romaine lettuce in my diet. I now know what full feels like. Im good at stopping once Im full. I do soups quite a bit. Suggestions? Thanks, this board is very helpful and interesting. Im learning a lot from you guys!!

My surgeon (Dr. Ortiz @ the OCC in Tijuana) does: Days 1-3: clear fluids Days 4-17: full fluids Days 18-27: pureed foods Days 28-40: soft foods Day 40... solid foods, introducing new foods one at a time.
