I was sleeved on 3/15 and was cleared today to move to pureed foods. The problem is that I have absolutely no desire to eat. (I've never typed that sentence in my life I was all ready to make my ricotta bake and eat some Beans but when I actually went to eat something, I gave up after a bite. I wasn't nauseous, I just didn't want to eat. Anyone else have the same experience? I've been drinking my Water and Protein shakes fine since surgery, but that's all I've consumed. Is it bad to wait until I actually want to eat or should I force myself to try and get back into solid (pureed) food?

I am post op 6 days out. I went to the doctor today and everything has been fine. I have spasms of pain but I haven't had to take any pain meds since the hospital. I started having extreme sharp pains tonight and it hurt to breathe deeply. The pain only subsides if I'm sitting. If I try to stand or walk or adjust in my chair I get the sharp pains. I guess I'm asking should I go to the ER?

Am on day 8 of my pre op diet and am so so so hungry all the time but am sticking to it. Am not talking about emotional hunger but genuine tummy rumbling hunger. My ? Is does this go away post op? A friend swears from the start she has only been honestly hungry a hand full of times post op the surgery. I can deal with the emotional hunger but I don't know if I can go another month dealing with tummy rumbling all the time .

I'm 3.5 weeks post op. Had surgery on 3/6. For the past, probably week and a half I've been nauseas every morning. I haven't been even "eating" anything until around noon and even then I'm kind of pushing it. Sometimes I feel better after eating sometimes not. I was supposed to get my TOM yesterday, but it didn't start yet and I have been known to get very nauseas the day I start, but this has been going on for a while now. And before anyone asks, there is no possible way I'm pregnant, lol. Has anyone else had this issue? If it goes on much longer I'll probably move up my recheck appointment.

I am following my Drs. 2 week full liquid post op diet for VSG. When I eat Soup (tomato is allowed) I only eat a half cup of it. I have yet to feel "restricted" or full and have no problem drinking my Water soon after having the soup. Basically I'm a little worried that I haven't felt the restriction that so many others talk about! Also if anyone can tell me if there is a way to search the bariatricpal forums that would be great! I'm sure this topic has already been covered! (Nevermind got it!) Thanks!

I'm just about at 6 months post op, I'm doing about 5-7 miles of walking a day, I do between 50 and 70 crunches and 50 half push-ups a day right now. I'm looking to increase this with a home workout in the mornings. I just did a 20 minute one on Amazon this AM but it requires so much more coordination than I have. lol! Kick, hop, punch, twist, fast fast fast! Well, it takes me like 4 pauses to figure out the routine then rewind and do the sets and then pause on the next one. lol! It was RIDICULOUS! And I don't want to waste my precious time rewinding, figuring out the routine, blah blah blah. SO! I'm looking for some suggestions to try out. I'm totally willing…

I'm 6 days post op and I'm itching. I know it's a mix of healing and the glue. The incisions aren't infected but the area around the glue is red. I'm so ready for the glue to come off. How long did it take for the glue to come off and what did you do to keep it from irritating the skin? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Went today for my one week Post Op checkup. I got fussed at for not drinking enough water. I've got to get that in! But I'm down 22lbs. I was excited about that. Of course i think that included the liquid diet prior to surgery. But I'm still happy with the results! Drink more water!

I am sure there are tons of threads on this but they're hard to find. I had surgery on March 8,2017. Since then, according to my scale I've only lost 11 pounds in three weeks. Is this normal for anyone? At one week post op, I'd lost six pounds, so that's only five pounds in the two weeks since. Is this normal? I'm exercising. I'm doing everything I should be.

If my surgery will go as planned, it will be on june 13th. But 15.july my partner and I will have a 10year anniversary. Usually that would have meant, fancy dinner and drinks and something. Now I would only be 5 weeks out and I am totally clueless about how to celebrate when dinner and drinks is out of the picture, especially romantically. Any ideas?

I'm concerned that 6 ounces is to much. I'm avoiding breads sweets and no carbonated beverages. I avoid fluids 1 hr to 2 hrs before dinner and I notice I don't get that full filling. I stop at 6 oz and I am afraid I can eat more but I don't. Is this normal. ?

My husband is 6 days post-op from gastric sleeve surgery. He had the band for about 8 years before it had to be removed because of scar tissue at the entry of his stomach (This was 3 months ago) He is having a hard time explaining what is going on...other than being "uncomfortable," but he has had 3 days of consistent night sweats, day sweats, and on and off low grade fever...based on everything I have read he should be getting back into his regular routine by now. I'm concerned and thought I would reach out to the men who have had this surgery.

I get all of my protein in (3 meals and a shake sometimes a string cheese or cucmbers in between ) and also i drink 70oz+ of fluids. I feel the more i drink the hungrier i feel. Literally my stomach is growling constantly and my stomch feels so empty even with fluids. I try to keep my mind off of it keeping busy with my toddler and working full time but litterally i feel like im starving myself even if i ate 1.5hrs ago. Anyone in the same boat??

Hello everyone, I had my first fill on the 16th of this month and it was 1.5cc. At first I felt a huge amount of restriction but now I find myself being able to eat a little more. I'm mainly eating twice a day and healthy snacks in between. Is this normal or is something wrong? I go in for my next fill next month on the 12th.

Hello all, i know that this is a long post, but I would really appreciate your responses. I am in a real shitty situation! I had the Gastric Sleeve Surgery back in July of 2016, which makes it 8 months post op. At first everything was going well, the first month I lost 18 lbs, the second month I lost 6, then the third 5, then the fourth stayed the same, then it was Thanksgiving and Christmas (Holiday Season) and thats when it all went down hill. I stayed the same weight until after christmas. At this point up to christmas I lost about 30lbs in 5 months, and now I gained some weight and my total weight loss is 22 lbs, so I gained 8lbs from december until now (March 29t…

I really didn't want to do this since i mostly lurk and rarely ask. But i'm quite frustrated and just wondering if this is normal or not. So i know everyone talks about the 3 week stall, and that it's pretty famous around here. I experienced mine at 4-5 weeks. But is there such a thing as a 3 months stall? I've just experienced my second stall right now and have actually gained about 1-3 pounds. March 15th i weighed in at 244-245. As of march 22nd i've been at 245, then 246 on sunday, then today 247. Sometimes the scale will go back to 245 but it just jumped up again yesterday and today. So I guess my question is, is this normal? Will it pass? Or do i need to be conce…

Hello Team, Long time lurker first time poster. I had a VSG on 1/19/17. I had a leak. I've been in recovery for the majority of the time between then and now. I had a stent placed in my stomach that sucked. While I had the stent I started taking 40mg of Prilosec every day. The stent was removed and I was happy to find that I didn't have any heartburn and everything felt great. I've been able to eat foods, bla bla bla. My doctor now says, "if everything is going well start weening yourself off of the Prilosec, you shouldn't be on it long term." ok... so I reduced my dose by 50% which is what I was told. I'm down to 20mg Prilosec (one pill). BUT now I have heartbu…

I'm currently pre-op but over the past few years I've noticed whenever I try on shoes with a heel my back and sciatic nerve hurt really bad. I haven't worn heels in years and of course I was close to 100lbs lighter at that time I did wear them. I am wondering if anybody else had issue with back pain in heels prior to surgery and if it reduced or went away after. It's not just skinny heels it's also booties with a heel that cause pain... which I'm guessing is because I'm so heavy (my back pain and sciatic nerve pain has increased as my weight has). I'm hoping as I lose weight I can wear heeled shoes again since I love booties and would like to add them back into my wardro…

Hello everyone! How are you all doing? I hope all is well. I had my lap band put in February 10 and I haven't had any side effects... no vomiting, nausea. Just minimal pain in my shoulders if I eat a little fast and some pinching in my stomach here and there (i have am incisional hernia). I go in for my first fill tomorrow and I'm kind of scared. I ate solid foods a little sooner than what I was supposed to and I hope I haven't caused any damage that can potentially harm me in the future or cause a delay in getting a fill. I did not experience any difficulty when I did eat solid foods, but only the minor pain in my shoulders. I'm a little paranoid and wondering "what if" …

I am scheduled to have my sleeve surgery 18 April. In three weeks from today. I have been reading blogs and talking with local sleevers that say not to expect to loose any more just about 60% or your starting weight. That it is nearly impossible to loose more. If this is the case then it seems impossible to reach a goal weight if it is more than 60%? I am suppose to loose 110 pounds to be with in a 5 pound range of the weight my surgeon wants obtained. Can anyone share their weight loss story that has met or nearly met the goal weight

I know to some, this might even seem silly... but for several years, I've been over 300 lbs. Before I even decided on this route, I'd been trying every damn diet i could think of to lose weight. I remember 3 times, or got down to the verge of getting under 300 lbs. But I never could quite tip the scale. I'd teeter totter on the edge, but never made it under. The day I started the pre-op diet, I was 333.6 lbs. March 6th, the day of surgery, I was 310.2 Today, I weighed, and I am 298.0 I realize it's just 35 lbs and I still have a long road, but I cried. I haven't seen less than 300 lbs on the scale in over 3 years. I'm so grateful. For the first time, I actually feel l…

I'm almost 13 weeks post op and finally home after being on the road off and on for 10 days. I traveled from NY to Florida, around the state and then back to NY. My eating has been horrible. I've been trying to make the best choices I can but I've been eating out almost daily between the traveling and meeting up with people. While I feel find physically emotionally I'm a mess, I'm my own worst enemy and I've been so hard on myself. I did manage to still lose 2 pounds which is about my average but I feel so guilty for eating poorly. I know I have to make the best choices as my sleeve is a tool and this was not a normal situation for me to be in. Of course I come back to w…

Hello, I had RNY on 1/23/17 so I am 6 weeks out. I've notice that I can eat a lot of salad... my papaerwork says not to eat more than 4-6 ounces at this point, but I'm able to eat like 5oz of salad. With other things I can usually eat about 4oz and I don't get that full feeling, but I am satisfied so I do not eat more that what I'm allowed. I'm just a little worried because I'm in the "regular foods" stage and I'm seeing most people say that their punch only holds 2-3oz. Should I be concerned?

I was 330 lbs. I had surgery on February 20th in five weeks I lost 37lbs. But now I'm stuck in a plateau! I'm not sure when I'm going to see the scale change again the first four weeks each day I was a pound or 2 lighter but this past week and a half no change. Everyday I weight myself now it's the same. I am praying now to get out of the 290's and enter into the 280's and beyond. Anybody has advice on the Plateau and how to jump start the weight lost again? I'm still exercising and I consume around 350 - 600 calories per day . Is this too much food? Peace and Love, Michele
