Sharp Pains by incision that are New!

I am post op 6 days out. I went to the doctor today and everything has been fine. I have spasms of pain but I haven't had to take any pain meds since the hospital. I started having extreme sharp pains tonight and it hurt to breathe deeply. The pain only subsides if I'm sitting. If I try to stand or walk or adjust in my chair I get the sharp pains. I guess I'm asking should I go to the ER?

I know this is late coming. Since the pain goes away while resting, it is probably not an emergency. Relax flat on your back and feel your abdomen gently. It shouldn't hurt with gentle pressure. If it does, there might be a problem.

Sharp pains are often stitches getting pulled a bit.

I slept in the fold out chair last night. I will try what u say. Thank you.

This is the exact pain I've been having. No gas pains, I've just been having pains getting up or down or adjusting and it's only on the side where my largest incision is. I'm 2 days post op and it was easily a 10 until today, it's about a 6.
