My long-awaited Onederland is here!  I was 205lbs on Halloween, and it took until Dec. 7th to lose 6 lbs.  Yup, weight loss has definitely slooowwweeeddd down
I had a checkup at the doctor's yesterday.  I still have to go in for my bloodwork, but everything looked good on the outside.  My blood pressure is the most amazing thing.  Before surgery it had gone sky high (like 190/95 or some such thing).  I was on blood pressure medicine from that reading until surgery.  The day of surgery was the last time I took the meds, but the pressures were still technically high, just not high enough for medication (140/85). Yesterday it was 110/80... and that was after 2 cups of coffee.  I haven't had normal blood pressure since my 20's.  Doing the happy dance!
My doc asked what my goal weight was.  I told her 170lbs, because I have at least 10lbs of fluid in one leg.  She nodded and agreed that "170 or 175 is good".  Of course, mentioning the fluid got me a referral to a varicose vein doctor.  So I'll be starting the process to get those veins worked on.  Last time I checked into it, the process was a year long through my insurance.
So, that's it!  Nothing else until I get that blood work done.  I'll aim for tomorrow, since my FIL is coming home from the nursing home today and I'll be busy getting the house ready for him.  (He has raging, uncontrolled diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke).  The example of his poor health is what got me to do the surgery in the first place.  Yesterday his blood pressure was 255/115.  A new high!  He takes 8 pills a day to try and control it, but (obviously) it isn't working.  He's being sent home from the nursing home because he's too sick to be there.
Wait, what?  Yep, too sick to be at the nursing home.  (He was there for rehab after his last stroke, but his blood pressure is keeping them from being able to DO rehab.. so he has to come home!).

Went to a Christmas party yesterday.  Annual event for the employees and families of my hubby's company.  Anyway, all of his coworkers noticed my weight loss, and talked to him about it, but I received only two comments directed at me.  One was from a wife, just saying I was looking good.
The other was an enlightening exchange.  It was one of my hubby's closer buddies, a really nice guy that I like too.. and he asked if I had lost any more weight.  (Everyone knows about my surgery, no secrets here!).  This wasn't part of an ongoing conversation.. he hadn't mentioned weight to me before.
I said, "Not this week.  And this morning I got on the scale and it said two zero zero point zero, freaking zero!"
(I've been totally stuck at exactly 200lbs for close to two weeks now, and am SO anxious for onderland!  It spilled out at the least provocation, lol!).
The enlightening thing, though was how silly it sounds to hear me bemoan no losses for a whole week!  I probably wouldn't really notice it, except it's THE major milestone (short of goal), and I've been close since Halloween.. and here it is.. December.  I guess I'm getting antsy.
I think Aunt flo is about ready for a visit, so I can expect another week or two before the scale shifts again.  Guess I might as well buckle down and ride it out.  I know the scale won't move for the next day or two because I went so far off my diet plan at the party, it isn't even funny.  We won't talk about that.. eek!  (Let's just say that I had my Christmas and New years desserts early and leave it at that).
Today is a new day, back on the wagon!!

I had 15 pounds of extra skin that was removed from stomach. It was a hard road to travel had to find a doctor that was willing to fight with my insurance company to cover the procedure. They kept saying it was cosmetic and not medical. Even though I was getting infections under the flap, the foul odors that I would have because of the infections, the psychological effect it was having on me because I wouldn’t go outside due to the fact I was afraid someone would smell the odor, and all the other doctors appointments that had copayments to document everything. Finally, in end the doctor who proformed my surgery never gave up on me and got my insurance to pay. Thank God for the doctors that actually know what we go through even after trying to get ourselves health. Good luck to everyone needs to have this done.

Got my date, and I'm kinda bummed because its so far away:  March 14th.  My surgeon is a marshmallow about the dates, but his office staff is run by an 86-star general and she says I have to have 180 days in before we file with insurance -- not just 6 dietitian meetings, but 7, effectively.  And here I thought I could even get in early -- nope!  Oh well, it is what it is.
My personal goal is to lose 10 pounds by March 1st, but no more.  Feels doable.

    Good Morning Everyone!
I am fairly new here, just a few days on the app and website. I am 16 days pre-op and on the liquid diet currently. I chose to start liquids 4 weeks out to ensure I hit the pre-op goal from my doctor. I'm 10 days into the liquids and I've already shed 13lbs. The liquid diet has not been easy and really brought forward the realization of how addicted to food I was. Smells of real food still make me hungry, but I try to avoid them at all costs and keep myself full with protein shake and veggies. I can't wait until my VSG procedure. Being on this app and reading all of your stories and experiences has really helped me and I want you all to know how much I appreciate you.
Hope you have a good Monday!

It has been awhile since my last status update. Sorry. I have been busy with work and working out. I am now up to 6 days a week. 2 Cardio Days, 1 extremely light cardio day, 2 strength training days and 1 HIIT day.
I know it seems like a lot however, my light cardio day is just me riding a bike around without trying to break a sweat lol.
Sunday: Light Cardio (Ride Bike to Work)
Monday: Strength Training - Lower Body & Core
Tuesday: Cardio - 30/30 Medium Intensity
Wednesday: Strength Training - Upper Body & Core
    Thursday: 30/30 Medium Intensity
    Friday: HIIT
    Saturday: Rest
I have made some smalls workout gains. I can do lunges with 10lbs weights in each hand. I am do reverse lunges with bar using 20lbs of weight. I can leg press 90lbs (which is shocking. I thought since I was heavier and my legs had to move more weight, I would be able to leg press more weight). I can do squats with 25lbs now.
My booty is lifting and firming up too!!!

Today is my first day back at work since my surgery 10/16. I thought I had thought about everything and returning to work, meals, protein, water, etc. One major thing I didn't think about was me getting dressed for work this morning and putting on slacks that I wore pre-surgery...they looked ridiculous and were entirely too big. It was awesome and stressful at the same time. Luckily, as I rummaged through the closet I found a smaller size that I kept for some strange reason, and while still a bit baggy, they were much better. Guess I'll need to get a couple pairs of slacks tonight to get me through the next month or so, then swap those out. What an awesome feeling to get rid of clothes for being to big for a change.

Last week I poured out all the alcohol in the house. I rarely drank pre op but about 6 mths post RNY I stopped declining wine with dinner and very quickly recognized that I was experiencing the food to alcohol addiction transfer.
I'm so glad the alcohol is gone! If anyone feels they are on that slippery slope I encourage you to do the same. So much easy to resist if it is not in the house.
Also, for the first time in 6 months I've broken out of the gain/lose/gain/lose the same few lbs stall and have started to lose again!

Six days post op I'm down 13 pounds which I'm excited about. My mom had been staying with me for the past 3 months to help me get to the weight that I needed to get the surgery and she had to leave the day after I came home from the hospital. I'm really close to my mom, she's like my best friend and I'm so lucky to have her. But her leaving has been really hard on me, I had separation anxiety with her as a child and I guess its never really been addressed because I still have it lol. I know this is only temporary but damn it sucks.

So I have come to the conclusion that I have a racer back gym shirt problem. I keep buying more shirts and they are soo cute and they make me feel cute. I am still kicking butt on my workouts and I have decided to end Keto for now. I have been stressing a lot about food and unfortunately, I hold on to weight that way. It is time to go back to just being mindful of what I eat and how much.
Although I look great in clothing, I wanted to show what my body looks like outside of it. My stomach is sagging lower than before I lost weight. My arms are sagging and my breast have deflated.
With that being said, I would not go back and change anything. I would not give up being able to jump, bike, go shopping easily and feel comfortable in clothes for anything. I would not trade this confidence or happiness. I am soo a peace with myself and my body. The aches that I feel are from soreness of pushing my body, than from being too heavy that my body cannot handle the weight.
This journey has saved my life in more ways than I could ever imagine. I do not hide from the world anymore. I do not hide from people. I go out and want to explore. I meet new people. I have been freed from the burdens my weight had placed on me mentally and physically.
With being said, "I LOVE MY IMPERFECTLY PERFECT BODY!!"
