Does anyone get an irregular or rapid heartbeat after eating?

I am 7 months post-op gastric bypass. Lately I've noticed that after I eat, my heart rate changes. Either it speeds WAY up, or beats in an irregular rhythm. Does anyone have any insight into this? Should I be worried?

Mention it to your surgeon next time you have an appointment.

I have that happen if I eat something with too much sugar.

That sounds like it could be dumping syndrome. Many people in my support group who had RNY said dumping sometimes affected their heart rate, and some said it can feel like a heart attack.

Exactly what too much sugar does.
