Hi everyone, I am new to forums. I had a gastric sleeve on 01 March 2017, and have lost 12kg since then (6 weeks). At 4 weeks my dr told me to go to solid foods, but I was finding I wasn't keeping any food down. I started eating potatoe chips (Chrisps) as it was the only thing I could keep down. I tried to speak to my surgeon but he just left a message for me saying to go back to fluids. What are other people's experience at 6 weeks and what can I expect? I am really struggling here.

Hi, I was sleeved December 22, 2016. I have lost 61 pounds so far. My surgeon recommends to stay under 20 carbs a day. I was fine with this until just recently. About a month ago I added walking to help boost my metabolism and make me more energetic. It worked...for a while. The last few days I feel like I have been hit by a bus. I usually do about 3-5 miles a day walking and the past few days I am lucky to do a mile. I feel wiped out, loss of stamina, no energy, just plain exhausted. I drink a lot of water during the day, so I know I am well-hydrated. My questions is...is staying under 20 carbs a day adding to my exhaustion? I take in a lot of protein during th…

Hi all Yesterday was my post op apt and my doctor gave me the green light to move to stage 3 foods. I need some advice on what to eat since he did not give me any help on what my daily meals should look like. Also he said I should be eating around 800 calories. Does that seem high for 3 weeks post op? I would gladly love some advice on what my daily meals should be and calories! I have lost 16.4 since surgery. Thanks so much! Kristin

Hi guys, I'm in day 11 after surgery, still on soups or creamier fluids. But I was just wondering if any of you introduced whole wheat toast or crackers, bearing in mind that if you chew it properly it will be pulverize by the time it hits your stomach? In which week did you try a healthy pancake (the oats-egg-milk kind)? I know I have to keep my carb intake as low as possible but I can't help crave for these things. I'm sure some of you are in the same boat as me. I'm just wondering how can I manage or cope with this.

I am 8 days out and so HUNGRY! I know what head hunger is and that is not what this is. My stomach is growling and the fluids (water, broth of all kinds) & Protein are not filling me up. I can drink about 3/4 cup in less than 15 minutes. I feel full (it doesn't hurt but I can feel the fullness). Less than 20 minutes later I am hungry again. I end up heating up a cup of stuff each time bc I know within a couple hours it will all be gone. Is this normal?!?! I wrote my nutrionist that my surgeon requires me to work with but I honestly think she is a dingbat. I just want more of something....eggs sound so good and maybe some applesauce. I see people that had both the day …

I am 2 and a half weeks out from my surgery and on soft foods. My nutritionist says to aim for about 800 calories a day. I am not able to get anywhere near that. Today I'm at about 550 and can't imagine eating any more. I don't want to tank my metabolism, but I just can't eat another bite. I'm aiming for 60-80 grams of Protein and less than 35 grams of carbs. Any menu ideas would be most welcome. Thanks!

I'm week 3 post op and my doc has me on a soft high fibe high Protein diet. The only guidance I got for eating was eat easy to chew foods, no red meat or bread yet. Avoid raw fruit, veggies, breads, fibrous Cereal, crackers, and popcorn. I have no idea what kind of menu I should be eating a day. Don't drink more then 8oz in an hour. And stop the Protein Shakes Any suggestions. ? eggs and tuna is what I've been eating but I'm getting burnt out.

Hi guys! Today I complete my first week after surgery. It's been a pretty smooth ride thanks to forums like theses and so much info out there. I'm just worried I can't tell if it's normal to not have gone to the bathroom for the entire week! I mean, I know my liquid diet has been broth, apple juice and jello (yesterday started with protein shakes) and I've read that constipation is normal, but it says that it's for 3 or 4 days. Did anyone go through this?

  22. Hi everybody, I'm new here so I apologize in advance if this isn't the appropriate place to post this topic! I'm 18 years old and I got the gastric sleeve on March 27, 2017. I've been having no problem drinking Water and getting my clear fluids in, but whenever I drink anything thicker it feels extremely heavy in my stomach. Additionally, I was scheduled to begin puree yesterday and I had scrambled eggs mixed with cottage cheese for lunch, and chicken puree for dinner. I feel extremely sick and am feeling deterred from eating any other pureed food as I still feel sick from yesterdays. Everything I try to eat seems to make me nauseous. Since I am 18 years ol…

I had my first day back at work this week and... I wore "light blue" tag pants. LARGE! I was so excited. I probably could have worn a large top as well, but there weren't any. lol Pre-op, I made a list of NSV to look forward to and this was one of the first things I wrote down. Can't wait to scratch more off the list!

I hope to go home this afternoon if they take my drain out! Glad to be done!

I was sleeved 3/15, home from hospital on 3/17. Surgery went well no complications. Since friday I have felt this morning sickness type discomfort. I was on 3 different anti nausea meds in hospital, never vomited but heaved a few times. Haven't taken any prescribed zofran yet because I wanted to really feel what I really feel like post-op. If that makes sense. Anyway, the feeling is terrible any moms out there relate? I feel like I'm 12 weeks pregnant minus the fatigue. I haven't felt the urge to vomit just existing with this nauseated unwell feeling. Ive been meeting/exceeding my water and protein requirements. I just started on pureed foods this week and am hoping you all could share some advice with me. Since surgery, I simply don't have any hunger at all. Right now I've scheduled myself to have 6 small meals a day, approximately two to two and a half hours apart. (I am eating 3 2oz purees and 3 5.5 ounce Protein shakes). When the time rolls around to eat, I am not hungry. I am not NOT hungry, just not feeling any hunger pains. When this happens, should I still force myself to eat something? Also, I am not really getting a "full" feeling after eating. Is this normal?

I'm day 2 post op and actually feeling pretty good I had my surgery on the 8th with Dr Lopez at ALO Bariatric in Tijuana. This place was amazing! I feel like I received more nurturing care than I would have in a busy hospital in the states. I'm sore but the gas pain have not been as bad as a expected. I couldn't find the gas x strips so just got the chewables. I'm already learning the signs from my stomach if I take to large of a sip. Very thankful I'm able to drink and dip broth with no issues. I've read that many were not able to drink normal for awhile. My big take away so far from this experience is no one is the same. You can easily get freaked out by reading other'…

I throw up any time I drink a sip or two of any Protein Drink. I am allowed soft foods, but I'm so afraid of eating too much that I'm probably not eating enough. I went 16 days with nothing but half a sugar free popsicle for Breakfast and 4 tablespoons of chicken broth for dinner. I'm allowed soft foods starting yesterday, and I had 1 mandarin orange segment for breakfast and 1 tablespoon of mashed potatoes for dinner and later half of a sugar free popsicle. I'm exhausted and weak and my muscle hurt. I am such a picky eater - I don't like vegetables and the thought of puréed foods gags me! While I saw my doctor I explained to him how everyday since I've been home immediately when I wake up I feel hot and dizzy and nauseas and very ill. Liquid Tylenol only made it worse so I waited and took the Percocet I was sent home with and I felt so much better! But then it turned into a cycle where in the morning I'd feel like **** and then by nighttime I was lively, no pain feeling food. He then explained that it was mostly likely side effects from the Percocet and to take pill Tylenol. The thing is is that I have never had that terrible side effect from Percoce…

  40. So I wasn't even sure if I wanted to post this but I just kept thinking about it so I'm just gonna do it. What do you guys think about all the news about the mom from the show Here Comes Honey BooBoo? Mama June is her name. Now I will admit, I've never seen the show and I've judged her pretty harshly in the past. I try not to be a petty b***h but sometimes I am. And I think I am about her. So I'm not sure if this is me being a b***h or something else. I hate all the news coverage on her. I think the main reason is they are making it seem like it's just so fast and easy. Does anyone take coumadin as a bloodthinner. I had mini gastric bypass in October and was diagnosed with DVT and Pulominary Embolism three months later. I am currently on a new drug called Pradaxa but the doctors want to switch me to coumadin. They seem to be worried about the mal-absorption from the mgb because taking the Pradaxa the blood is not monitored but the coumadin the blood is monitored once a week. Thanks for your input.
