I was sleeved one week ago and feel great! I get to start pureed foods tomorrow and was wondering if anyone has a "favorite" pureed food that was their go-to food during this time. Before I had surgery, I was almost repulsed by the thought of pureed food...now I am SO excited for it to start! .

So I'm 1 month and 4 days since gastric sleeve surgery. I feel like I've posted so much on here, so my apologies. But I am having the hardest time! i have now started to gag after anything I drink or eat. Most of the time it ends with vomiting after gagging myself to that point. When I vomit, it's mostly just spit, if I eat it's the food I ate, but I've been also throwing up just lumps of thick foam. Does anyone know what's happening? I just keep having struggles. Thanks y'all!

This is a light topic for the weekend. I am down 32 pounds since my sleeve six weeks ago. I have read how people smell and taste have changed since having the sleeve. I have never been able to smell skunk in my life. My family laughed at me when we drove in a car in our semi rural neighborhood. They say " can't you smell that". I would sense something was there but that's all. Recently again I drove with my wife in our neighborhood. My wife has a hyper sensitive smell compared to mine. I smell all other things but I cannot smell skunk. Again we passed a skunk, I sensed something was there but that's all. Are there any other non-smellers of skunk?

I'm New to the community and 3 days post-op. I have gained a sensitivity to smells. From foods to car emissions to my favorite perfume, everything smells different and makes me sick to my stomach. Does anyone else experience this issue?

I'm 3 weeks post op and still having to rely on my anti-nausea meds. Please tell me this goes away at some point. (I have a follow up with my surgeon next week, and I obviously plan to ask her about this, I just thought maybe someone out there who's further along can shed some light.)

OK so my last weight management class was on the 30th March and I weighed around 160kg. 11th April I had my pre op assessment and was halfway through my liver diet and weighed 155.4kg. Got my staples out today and jumped on the scales for the first time and I am down to 147.5kg. I'm very happy and shocked at the weight loss but since my trigger to know and stop eating is hiccups I must be doing something right. Question though (and I know everyone is different) but I'm only probably getting in about 15g of protein a day due to food intake and I'm fine with liquids and I drink loads of milk - do I need to try and up it at this stage? I can do a shake at 20g protein during…

So my surgery was on 2/28/17 so I am officially two months post op but I am still have nausea when I even think about eating. My surgeon has given me Zofran to ease the nausea and it helped but I don't want to be reliant on it and it makes me severely constipated. Has anyone else had this this far out post surgery? I am only eating twice a day and I want to get back to working out but I am not taking in enough to start going back to the gym. Any suggestions?

I am 6 months post op and supposed to be getting about 900 calories, however, I am not even coming close to it. I get anywhere from 270 to about 500 calories (If I am lucky). This even includes the calories from vitamins and supplements. How is everyone hitting their calorie intake goals? Hi all! I am still struggling with identifying the "full" feeling. I start to get what feels like gas to be and/or I have to burp and I stop. I am 4 weeks post op and I was just bumped from 2oz of protein to 3oz and I am stopping before the 3 which I know is ok. I have a big fear of stretching my stomach. Was hoping others can share how they know they are full. Thanks

I am 6 weeks post op, 30 lbs lost & I have stalled. Well, not only have I stalled but I gained 2 pounds in the last couple days ???? Wth??? That is mathematically impossible as I would have to be consuming an additional 7000 calories a week to gain a pound. I am NOT..... unless this Water weight fluctuation &/ or PMS....I cannot think this type of restrictive dieting can lead to any gain. Please please shed some light on this for me.

Howdy all, I was sleeved exactly a week ago tomorrow AM. My doc's post operative diet called for 10 days of clear liquids following surgery, but I am struggling a bit and really want to move on to the full liquids phase. I know some people move on at 7 days and I am jealous!! I had a low BMI at surgery (29) and physically I have had no issues since surgery whatsoever. I feel good. Back at work from home (though finding it hard to concentrate when I am only intaking very low calories), I'm walking the doggie a few miles a day, no vomiting or nausea, already had some mini BMs. I do have a few incision twinges at surgery site but nothing major and the compression g…

I've been super busy the past 3 weeks and have slipped into some "grab & go" habits that aren't serving me very well. No loss for 2 weeks and today got on the scale and was up almost 2 pounds. I'm close to goal but it's been very elusive because I've gotten lazy about my choices. Anyone have some good standby meals that are quick and easy when you're on the go? One of my problems has been not making time for meals so I've noticed I grab a little of this and a little of that......which really translates to grazing all afternoon. Old habits die hard............ What are some favorites for healthy, high protein, low carb, bariatric friendly choices? Thi…

Hi All, I'm about 4.5 weeks post-op and I have only lost 2 pounds in the last 3 weeks. Is this normal for this long? I seem to be reading that a lot of people experience the first stall around the 2nd to 3rd week, but I didn't realize it would last this long! I can't seem to get any protein drinks down and nowhere near the water intake I'm supposed to be at, so it feels like maybe I'm starving myself but not losing anything. I haven't had any energy at all for this entire time, and that's worrying me the most I think. I'd like to start exercising a lot, but I just don't have the energy most days! I'm so frustrated and hoping that this changes soon.

Hi everyone, so I've been planning a nice Caribbean vacation with a couple of friends for this summer, but I'm nervous since I might be sleeved by that time. I'm hoping to get my surgery in late May, early June and traveling for a week abroad in late July. Is that too soon to go abroad? If you traveled soon after your surgery, what was your experience like? Or how long did you wait to go abroad?

Are there any men that are or have experienced hot flashes since getting sleeved? I'm 53 years old. Surgery in December 2016. Down almost 90 pounds. No complications. But the past month or so I've been experiencing occasional hot flashes. They last anywhere from a few minutes to more than an hour. No pattern whatsoever. Anyone?

I am 5 months post VSG and 60 lbs down. I have about 20 left to lose. I work out 6 days a week 2 or 3 times a day but 20-30 min each: running/walking/weights. I keep stalling and wonder if I'm only taking in 900-1000 calories and very low carbs if it's not enough and I should increase. Anyone have experience with this?

I'm 3 1/2 weeks out from my surgery and I find that I'm having trouble getting all of my required water in. For those of you who are super successful in drinking 64oz or more of water per day, I'd love if you shared your schedule of how you manage drinking all of that damn water! Lol I just started soft foods so it's making it harder for me, time wise, to consume enough water now that I have to incorporate the 30mins before/after food rule. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I am officially 2 weeks post-op and today is the day I get my ONE egg! I have been patiently waiting for this moment. I made it soft-boiled, with a touch of salt and pepper. I'm about halfway done- and getting full. This is crazy! I remember when I could knock out a 4-egg omelette to myself! Next week I get to start yogurts, shaved turkey, soft fish, etc. For now? This egg is the bomb!! So tired of liquids [emoji23] SW: 350 / CW: 321 / GW: 200 Sleeved April 13, 2017

my surgery date was March 31, 2017. I am ending my puree stage of foods and I am going to start the next stage. Moving forward I am afraid that I am going to stretch out my new stomach but I still feel hungry, even after slowing down my eating. Due to my fear I stick to the 3 ounces required but I still feel hungry. What should I do? Is it normal to feel this way?

Knowledge Is Power When I first started my sleeve journey which was on Feb 21st 2017, I would compare my weight loss with how others were doing. This is a big no no! It will leave you discouraged and stressed which will only hinder your progress. Have you ever wondered why on the show "The Biggest Loser" someone small who only lost a little weight would win over someone who seemed to lose more? It is called Percentage of Weight Loss. The scale will only give you the baseline numbers to include in a calculation that will give you a guide to how you are doing. Per my doctors office they are looking for us to be close to the 60% loss of excess body weight at 6 mths ou…

I had RNY on March 15th. I lost 10 lbs during my pregnancy-op diet. At my two week check up, I had lost 20 lbs. Since then, I have only lost and additional 6 lbs. (it's been 24 days) it is too early for a stall? Has anyone else experienced a stall so early on?

So yesterday at work I had a yogurt around nine or ten, The triple zero Kind and got busy working on a project. I noticed while talking to my friend and I messed up her boyfriends name three times in a conversation and I was just very scatterbrained. I was reloading binders and my hands are shaky so I got a protein water and drank almost all of it and kept working. Around 2 o'clock I realized I was really hungry and so I drink a protein drink mixed in one cup skim milk. I still felt really awful and try to work while drinking it but kept making mistakes. I decided that my sugar might be low so I drove to Walmart and bought a BG meter and got back to the office and my glu…

Has anyone flown Malaysia Air and have any thoughts / feedback on their in-flight meals? On other airlines recently, I sometimes order a special Gluten Free meal and it kind of worked well. It means I get my meal earlier and it has less sauce / rice etc + more protein. I need this extra time to be able to eat for longer, however it can result in food jealousy when the normal meals look nicer I have never flown Malaysia Air before, so I haven't tried their normal meals, or special meals. I don't need a Gluten Free meal specifically as I'm not GF, but getting a special meal worked out well, e.g. getting it early, having less rice and more protein etc, that would b…

I'm on liquids, so I've been having very thin soups the last 2 days. Both yesterday and today I ate slowly, without distraction, but twice now I've gotten so full that I'm uncomfortable. I didn't feel it until... well, until I felt it. How do you know when you're full and not to have another bite? With hunger essentially gone, I don't have a gauge for satiety like I used to. I'm a little lost.

I am so confused! I am 2 weeks and 2 days post op and the last 2 days I can't take protein shakes. I know they said your tastes will change but I would have thought it was immediate not two weeks post op. I have been trying different ones and they all turn my stomach and taste terrible! Even the ones I loved last week. I need advice or suggestions. Has anyone had this happen or is there one you really love?

I'm about 7 months out from RNY and I'm just lately starting to feel hunger again. I used to just eat on the clock, never really felt hunger, but now, that old feeling is back. I have to be careful to remind myself to practice good eating habits and not "graze" through the day. Wondering how everyone else is dealing with that?

Hi. I was moved up to stage 3 diet on Wednesday which is creamed soups, puréed chicken (barf) and other stuff that makes me feel sick just thinking about. This has got to be the hardest stage because I don't know who the F could possibly purée a chicken and actually eat it, and if you have I have much respect for you. As for my premier protein shakes those make me gag now too. All I really intake is a yogurt and an isopure or two and lots of water. I am down 30lbs in 2 weeks so I'm not complaining about that it's just... this sucks. Next week I believe is tuna and chicken salad thank god. You know it's bad when your dying for a nice big salad lol. Sometimes when my head …
