  2. I had RNY on March 15th. I lost 10 lbs during my pregnancy-op diet. At my two week check up, I had lost 20 lbs. Since then, I have only lost and additional 6 lbs. (it's been 24 days) it is too early for a stall? Has anyone else experienced a stall so early on?

  7. Hello! I have been on this app since September 2016 and I have loved reading everyone's success stories! It has been sssooo encouraging and helpful! Now, I finally get to start telling my story! [emoji4] I had my Gastric Bypass Surgery on March 15th, 2017! I lost 20 lbs on the pre-op liquid diet (my surgeon required a 2 week liquid diet) When my surgeon went in, he found that I had lots of scar tissue. He took THREE hours just to get rid of scar tissue! He was still able to perform the Bypass and for that I am so thankful! Because of the extra work he did, I had a little bit longer of a hospital stay and a little bit longer of a recovery process. But, I am still excited to be on this journey! I have not taken any after pics yet but, here are my current stats: HIGH WEIGHT- 272 SURGERY WEIGHT- 250 CURRENT WEIGHT- 235 GOAL WEIGHT- 140
  8. I don't know you or your family but, from what you have said, they do not want what is best for you. You need to be around people who support you....not try to bring you down and make you fail. And as soon as you eat something you're not supposed to, they will be saying "told you you couldn't do it". You need to not have people like that in your life. I know it is family but that doesn't always mean they truly care about you. Misery loves company, honey. And I would be willing to bet they are overweight themselves and will act like you think you are better than everyone when you lose weight. They don't want you to succeed! Surround yourself with people who truly care. You need to get away from the reasons why you were an over eater in the first place. It's really sad to hear that you own family is acting this way. You have to make yourself happy and healthy!
  9. I am scheduled for March 15th!! Congratulations! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  10. I finished all of my requirements and had my last weigh in on January 31st. Now, I'm just waiting for an approval from the insurance company. I'm excited and nervous but mostly just want to get it all over with! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  12. I haven't told anybody except my close friend, husband, and a friend who had WLS. I was nervous about telling my friend because of the judgment of people having this type of surgery. I think that people are more open minded than you would expect. If your coworkers are going to find out anyway, beat them to the punch. Tell them your decision and be confident that you are making the right choice. Those people who are going to judge you for having this surgery are most likely going to be the same ones judging you for being fat. This surgery is for you and your well being and that is what is important. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  17. I know this thread is old but so encouraging ! I was told that it would take 3 weeks for my surgery to get approved. Hopeful that it will me in a week or less like some of ya'll. All of my prerequisites will be done January 30th. Was hoping for a February surgery date. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  18. Thank you everybody for the encouraging words. I am going to call me surgeon today and see what he wants me to lose. I actually have almost 2 months to lose so, I hope that works to my advantage. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  19. Anybody who has had their final weigh-in.....is there a certain amount the surgeon is looking for us to lose? A percentage? Or a certain number? My final weigh-in will be January 30th. I really have 2 months to lose what I can before surgery. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  21. I was told at my first meeting with my surgeon that my estimated date would be end of January-mid February. (This would be perfect because I am going to be a bridesmaid in a wedding in June) Yesterday, I was told that once they submit my whole "packet" to insurance for approval, it could be 3 weeks before they hear if my surgery was approved or not. Then, my surgery would be scheduled for approximately 3 weeks after that. This puts my surgery date at mid-march. For those of you who already have a surgery date, is this about right or are they just giving me worst case scenario? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  24. Of course I had nothing to be nervous about! The surgeon just went over the procedure with me, answered any questions we had, and gave me a list of what I needed to do between now and potential surgery date. I was overwhelmed with that part because it's a pretty long list of things to do. But, once you really look at it, it's not so bad. I feel like with all the appointments in between now and then, it will make everything go by fast. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
