I was told at my first meeting with my surgeon that my estimated date would be end of January-mid February. (This would be perfect because I am going to be a bridesmaid in a wedding in June) Yesterday, I was told that once they submit my whole "packet" to insurance for approval, it could be 3 weeks before they hear if my surgery was approved or not. Then, my surgery would be scheduled for approximately 3 weeks after that. This puts my surgery date at mid-march. For those of you who already have a surgery date, is this about right or are they just giving me worst case scenario?

I was approved by insurance in three days!!! It all depends on ur insurance company and how long it takes. And usually the surgery is done atleast two weeks out from when they schedule it especially if you have a two week pre op diet!!! Lots of luck!!

Mine took less than a week to approve! I have BCBS NJ.

I was approved in hours....yes hours and surgery was scheduled for 3 weeks later only because they wanted me on a 2 week liquid diet.

I hope your approval happens much faster and you get your surgery!
