I had mine done Thursday and came home today. I wore the ugly hospital gown. I didn't want to get anything on my own stuff and ruin it.

I wore the hospital gown and bought a bathrobe, so that I wouldn't be exposed in the back while walking around the hospital floor.

Got slouch Jammie's and a long tank top with non slip socks. Old set tho as I know we get catheterized.

I also wore the hospital gown. I took pjs with me but never changed into them. The hospital gown came in handy after the surgery, in post op, when I had to pee so bad and it took a little bit of time for the orderly to come, get me into a wheel chair and then to the bathroom. I was glad that I didn't have to pull anything down. lol Someone mentioned that they were catheterized. I wasn't.

Take some chap stick or Vaseline lip therapy. My mouth stayed dry and my lips started cracking.

I hate hospital gowns, so brought some loose PJ pants and a tank top... And flip flops for when I was up and about.

I stuck with the hospital gown while I was there. With the IV fluids pumping in me, I was constantly peeing. Easy access. My gown was large enough to wrap completely around me and tie up in the front.

I brought comfy pajamas but found the gown more functionable. Mine was also large enough that it wrapped around and covered my back so it was no problem.

I wore pj bottoms and a tshirt without a bra. They unhooked the IV long enough for me to put on the shirt. Worked really well since I was always up and walking the halls. Slipper socks would have been good. I just wore the ted socks while walking around, but I'm not particular ;)

I got sweatpants and a loose top and just chilled around without a bra. I'd suggest having a two-piece outfit because the nurses often came to check up on my wounds in bed so I was glad I could easily show them my belly hehe! I preferred sweatpants over pjs because I got my surgery done in a public hospital so there were a lot of people in the halls and I felt awkward walking around the whole time in PJs lol but it's ultimately up to you [emoji4] Good luck!!! Hope everything goes well for you

I wore the hosptial.gown but also a pair of old pj pants so i wouldn't expose my rear when walking the halls.

I wore the hospital gown and was in the hospital for 4 days. The nurse would help me shower in the morning and give me a new robe. I was also catheterized after surgery because the anesthesia put my bladder to sleep (not my first time experiencing this).

I recommend bringing a robe for walks. I used medical tape to make sure my gown was security closed in the back lol

The other thing I really liked was having dry mouth spray.

Good luck on your surgery!!! It will be here before you know it :)

If you're not going to wear the gown bring something with pockets for the halter monitor you'll be hooked up to all kinds of electrodes for a few days and you'll need a place for its brain. Also they didn't forbid me, but they wanted me drinking their high Protein ensure so I brought my own shakes for nothing. I did have a super soft airplane sized blanket and my own pillow from home (used a second way on the way home to hold over my stomach going over the bumpy New England roads).

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
