Hi All, I'm starting stage 3 on Saturday. I decided to buy a slow cooker. I want my introduction back to real food to not be boring! Does anyone have any healthy recipes for the slow cooker they want to share? I'm allergic to seafood, but would love some ideas. Thanks.

I've been reading the post op notes from my practice. They have you come in at 2, 4, 6, 8 weeks post op, then every month for the first year, then every 3 months. Other than a weigh in and incision check, what do they really do? Is this number of visits ormal? Is this number of visits necessary/useful? I know it's great if I am having problems, and probably a key to long term success for some. but on the other hand I just see inconvenience and $$$. That's a lot of copays. Thoughts? I'm curious to know what positive changes April sleevers have already started noticing. Share your changes here! I was sleeved on April 11th. With the pre-op diet and sleeve, I am down nearly 36 pounds from my highest weight. So far I've noticed that my back no longer hurts when I walk. I also noticed that I'm able to talk while walking to meetings with my co-workers. It's amazing how much of a difference 36 pounds makes!

Hi Everyone: I'm a little over 1.5 years post op and I've lost 200lbs. Expectedly, my weight loss has slowed but I'm not done yet! I want to lose another 75/100lbs. I have contacted my dietitian and she encourages me to eat about 70 grams of protein, 45 grams of carbs, 30 grams of fat. She also says I should only eat three times a day. Luckily, if I'm eating the right things, dense protein, I can only eat about 4 oz. I get hungry between meals and typically have a premiere protein. I do intense workouts about 5 times a week. Sometimes that's for the mental benefits more than the physical. I'm not losing at all. With only about 1000 calories but inte…

For everyone that is concerned about being a slow loser, don't give up hope! If you have slipped up and are struggling just keep trying to do better. I thought it would take the full 2 years to get 100 pounds off, but I think I might reach my goal by 8-10 months post op. My weight loss in the beginning was so slow. Like, it took months to lose the first 30 pounds. I stuck through it and have been trying to stay in keto as much as possible. Yes, I'm human, I've made mistakes but I recovered quickly. This last couple of weeks the weight loss has really kicked in! I'm losing so fast, it's like my body finally woke up. I've already lost 19 pounds this month, 19 pounds!! I ca…

In August I had my last fill of .3 ccs, bringing me to 7.1 total. I felt green for a long time. Then, in December I started to throw up frequently and I had awful acid reflux in the middle of the night. I would wake up choking on acid, gross. So last week I went back to my doctor and he removed .25 ccs. Now I feel like I made a mistake because I'm hungry earlier during the day and later at night than I have been. I'm also able to eat easier, I feel like I'm not restricted enough. Does anyone know if they are able to put in .1 cc? Anyone else have this experience? I definitely don't want to throw up often and have esophageal issues, but I don't want to gain weight either. …

I got my band in 2008 and recently had to have it unfilled because of slippage. I had it unfilled for about 5 months and gained 20 pounds. I just went today and had three CC's put back in and will be drinking only clear fluids for the next 24 hours and then I'm supposed to do mushies. Its been so long since I did this as I haven't had a fill since 2009 so I don't remember what constitutes mushies. Suggestions? Sent from my VS986 using the BariatricPal App

I don't see any copyright on this so I am going to share it. A lot of this I didn't eat personally beacuse I was a diabetic and most of this has too many carbs for a diabetic and even pre-op I controlled my diabetes by controlling my carbs. Still this is what my program offered as a post-op diet. Hopefully it can help someone that has no diet to follow. First Shopping lists.

So my Girlfriend recently went to the Hospital yesterday due to some slight numbness she was having, They told her there was nothing wrong with her Heart or Brain (As they scanned both). However now she's having a loss of sensation where the numbness was and now there is pain in her stomach (She said it's at least a 6 or 7 on a 1-10 pain scale with 10 being the highest). She also says it isn't gas related as she's having no issues there. She says the numbness has spread/grown severely, it started in her left thigh and has spread everywhere except for her toes, the top of her feet, her head, face, neck, shoulders, arms and hands. We're not entirely sure what this is, but t…

Why am I always feeling weak? Sometimes it goes away but most of the time it stays. It helps when I eat a little but not by much. I'm also feeling nauseous. I went grocery shopping today and the nausea was as worse as it ever got. On top of the nausea and weakness, I'd feel really hot and nearly pass out til I leaned on the cart. I don't know what's wrong, did I do too much today or is it normal to go through that after I get the surgery? I wish I didn't forget to mention this at my first follow up appointment. I'm 2 weeks out and wondering if anyone else had ever gone through the "regret" phase? I hope nobody criticizes me. I just want to know if this is common our of I'm alone. If you can't help me, pleaser don't comment anything negative or nasty. I don't want to feel worse. I don't know if it's because I miss eating like I used to or miss eating certain foods. Anyone ever go through this and if so, does the feeling go away? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using BariatricPal mobile app

Some of you may already have tried this, but this morning I threw in my magic bullet a Bananas and Cream Premier Protein shake, 3 teaspoons of Jif's peanut powder, and 2 teaspoons of Benefiber--and it was DELICIOUS. It's a nice changeup from the standard flavors I've been drinking for the last month.

Today is 3 weeks post surgery. I feel amazing. I am down 28 lbs. People are noticing that I am losing weight and telling me I look good. That makes me feel so good and encourages me to stay on track as well. My clothes are getting baggy and I may have to search in my closet for some smaller sizes soon. 1 hard boiled egg mixed with 2 teaspoons of light miracle whip fills me up. The feeling is a weird feeling when your full but I am getting used to it. How are other post op's doing with weight loss?

Hello All, I had RNY gastric bypass on 04/24/2015. So I am about 2 or 3 weeks post op. Tonight I think I took to large of a bite or didn't chew it well enough, and I felt like it was stuck in my chest. I was able to get the food to go down with some fluid. I am concerned that too large of a bite and the fluids can stretch my pouch/stoma. Even though this has only happened once is it a possibility to stretch them? Any help would be great

Hi guys, i am super struggling with with so much right now and I feel like I'm just a big bawl baby. My surgury date was 4/19. My husband deployed with the army for a year on 5/4. Im dehydrated. I'm exhausted. I thought I was healing up pretty well but 2 days ago my stomach started hurting on the upper right side. Has anyone else experienced this? i am feeling so completely overwhelmed. Happy Mother's Day! Today I'm finishing up my third week post op. This week was extremely sad as I lost a very close friend suddenly/tragically. The emotional stress set me back days. I definitely know my trigger for mindless eating and had it not been for this surgery, I would have eaten my weight in Smartfood Popcorn. So today I am measuring my success not by the numbers on the scale, but by acknowledging my trigger and finding alternate solutions. Just curious how others mark their success. HW 254 SW. 239 GW 150

It's weird I had my surgery May 1 & haven't eaten anything just fluids broth, water, premier protein shakes with lots and lots of ice and Crystal light. I'm not hungry one bit. I went to the doctor yesterday to get my staples taken out and spoke to my surgeon said I was doing really good I lost 20 pounds but I feel like I could drink more liquids easyish now. I'm curious in two days when I could start eating soft. Foods how it's going to feel in my stomach. This is all such a weird feeling.

Hello to all, Congratulations to all of you on your successes. I wanted to ask a question on Unflavored protein. I picked up some isopure, It works okay when I sprinkle it, but when I add to something warm it gets all clumpy and gummy. Any thoughts on how to get rid of the clumps? For a good laugh..... So I took the warm liquid and Isopure and stuck it in a blender. Turned it on and due to the warm liquid it blew the lid off and I had it everywhere. So Note to self don't do that. At least it was pretty funny.

A terrible, terrible thing happened today in our apartment building. A fire broke out - no one knows how yet - in the apartment of an elderly couple. We were all evacuated, even though it was in a different wing of the building (3 different elevator banks & we're adjacent) in part b/c we have a child & in part b/c this is NYC and fires move fast b/c the buildings are so close & often without firewalls. The guys who work in our building are truly amazing & they were able to get out the wife, but the man - an elderly, sick man who was weak & needed a lot of help to move around plus a walker - was too heavy for three of the building staff to …

Greeting Sleeve Family I'm wondering is anyone else experiencing slow weight loss. It took me a long time to consider wls because I was successful in losing 70lbs myself just by eating right and a great workout routine. I hit a plateau and begin to struggle. Now I'm super exhausted and this impacts my workout because I'm always tired. Just wondering if anyone else is always tired. My doc said 1st 6mos is when to expect greatest weight loss. 3 weeks post op VGS, 2 weeks post op gallbladder . This week I am hungry ALL the time. Suppose to be on pureed diet, 1/4 cup 5-6 times a day. well I realized its been more like 1/2 cup meals of what ever. Wasn't given too many specifics at 2 week post op buy NUT, other than make sure it is pureed! so as I look in my food journal there are some random items. I also notice in the evenings I am finding myself "craving" things. I am drinking nearly 60+ oz of H2O daily. Was told not to worry about supplements/vitamin intake right now or protein/calories No real weight loss since second surgery. Only down 22 lbs in 2 months. I have had the regret and thoughts …

I don't really mind at all...... but I think it's funny hardly anyone comments on my weight loss. I know the first pounds aren't really noticeable- but I've lost 43 lbs now ! Again, I'm not bothered by it- but it's strange because the very few people who have said something - say what a huge change !! How can that be when others don't even notice lol Anyone else have this happening ?

I'm so disappointed in myself! For 3.5 months I've eaten so well, counted every carb and stuck to my diet with little to no problem. I do keto, so usually I'm very strict with my diet but I've never "craved" foods since I began eating again after surgery. I actually feel satisfied 90% of the time. Until yesterday that is.... I went to the beach with my family (first time since surgery). This last week was a HUGE win for me with my weight loss, 9 lbs, that's huge for me because I'm a slow loser. I've officially lost 53 pounds in almost 3.5 months, I'm under 200!! My weight loss has gotten faster oddly, I had a very slow start right after surgery. I've been elated and motiv…

I also got a little over my 24 oz of fluid oh and I got in over 10,000 steps! I also saw my surgeon today and he was very happy with how I'm doing. [emoji847]
