My sleeve is scheduled for Thursday, the 4th. Very excited about that. I do have a question for those who have undergone the procedure. Is anyone on here a long term sleever? Meaning, if you've been sleeved for more than a few years. I'd love to hear how life has been treating you, and also give an insightful eye to those of use coming through the procedure. Some stuff I'd love to hear about are: health issues since having surgery (short or long term complications) diet and lifestyle revision surgeries (if needed) fitness routines impact on behavior/mood Anything would be really appreciated. Even if something isn't listed but you wou…

I decided to address some issues with the speed of my weight loss. Not because I'm disappointed or frustrated but to offer perspective and to garner your perspective to help those who are frustrated. On May 6 it will be 3 months out for me. I'm certainly no subject matter expert. Daily I see a new post regarding the speed of weight loss. Usually it is regarding a stall. Heck, I think I even posted one. We've heard and read every one hoping to get a different answer. But that new perspective never comes. So it appears that stalls are reality and normal. Slow weight loss is a reality and normal. Fast weight loss is a reality and normal. I've learned that just becau…

Anyone tired of the shakes? I just tried to drink one and almost gagged on it. I'm so over the jello, the shakes and protein drinks, the sweetness is making me sick. What do I do I'm not in phase 3 yet, but I can't stand another sip of that it's just gross. Help Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I went to see my surgeon yesterday for my 6 month check up. I have 1.4 pounds to lose to meet his weight loss goal. My official 6 months post op will be 20 April 2017. My surgeon and NUT are extremely happy with my progress and said that I have a greater chance of keeping the weight off due to my early success. I am so happy. I think that I should be at his weight loss goal before next Thursday. This was the best decision that I could have ever made. Who would have thought that being a loser could feel so good.

Today I am 6 days post-op. For the previous 5 days I haven't had any real desire to eat or drink anything. No real appeal in eating, and in some cases, thinking about foods made me feel a little queasy. Today - I feel hungry. I had a 5.3oz yogurt for breakfast (took about 90 minutes to eat, I think from about 7:30 to 9am). It is not just after 10:30 and my tummy and mouth say "eat!" Logically, I know that I have only consumed 120 calories today and I need to continue to eat and sip small amounts to heal but a part of me is thinking "This is how it starts all over again. You're hungry all the time. You won't stop eating. You'll gain every ounce back and THIS WAS FOR NOTHIN…

Today marks one month post op and I have lost 22.4 pounds. I have been doing pretty good with no complications. I am on regular food now but I do take it slow. I am determined to start consistently working out this week even if it's just a walk a day. I am thinking of switching to the vitamin patch as this chalky bariatric advantage vitamins make me feel sick. My question is, what's the average weight loss that is expected a month? I know everyone is different but I kind of wanting to know others thoughts.

I'm 5 days out from surgery (sleeved on the morning of 4/26) and I'm struggling with eating/sipping. I'm on a liquid diet that does include sugar-free pudding or yogurt if I want it. It seems that for about 4 - 5 of every 10 nibbles/sips I experience a pain. It happens no matter the type of food (full liquid or yogurt), the size of bite/sip, the temperature, etc. I guess it sort of feels like a big, nasty gas bubble? Like the food is hitting a super tough pocket of air or meeting some kind of resistance on it's way down? Has anyone else experienced this? Is it a cause for concern that I should reach out to my doctor before my check-up on Wednesday?

What amount of carbs do you loose the most weight on ? I have heard 20 gms is the ideal amount for Ketosis but I have found it nearly impossible to keep my carbs that low. I am at 60 gms daily. I continue to lose weight but I am very worried that it will stall due to that high carb amount. But 20 gms is not only not achievable but not sustainable either. Please share your carb counts & experience. Sent from my SM-G920P using BariatricPal mobile app

Sooooo.... it's been 9 months since my sleeve. I'm down just over 100 lbs (slow loser) and I'm 48YO female. For my whole adult life, although morbidly (and then super) obese, my lipids have been pretty darned good... low total cholesterol numbers, high HDLs, low LDLs, low triglycerides, good ratios, etc. Each new doctor I would see would be almost shocked when seeing them, like I defied everything thing they had been taught--as in, how in the world could someone so big be so "healthy" on paper, if that makes any sense. Anyway, I got my first lipids panel done since surgery on Friday and the results are back. I'm in the normal range on everything, so my doc will proba…

Question [emoji4] I bought some SF popsicles today and got to thinking..have you been able to have them during the liquid only phase? Stage 2 & 3 have you had SF jello, SF pudding, unsweetened applesauce? If so, good experiences? bad experiences? I am 9 days out from surgery and have all of these thoughts going through my brain before the surgery. [emoji1591]Angie

Surgery date 9/9/16. 305lbs at surgery date 230lbs today. I have dropped my BP and blood sugar. My back and leg pain is gone. I am no longer sick all the time and made it through Thanksgiving and Christmas meals. I eat out regularly and have enjoyed wine and beer in very small amounts. It definitely gets better. https://m.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=1382768135080516&id=100000420276980&set=rpd.100000420276980&source=49/ Sent from my Z981 using the [url=https://siteowners.tapatalk.com/byo/displayAndDownloadByoApp?rid=87332]BariatricPal App

I'm 6.5 weeks post op. I am currently allowed to eat anything. My plan says 3 oz protein with 1/2 cup veggies. And when getting enough protein without a protein drink add 1/4 cup grain. I don't eat much in the morning, but I have been eating 1/2 a banana or a string cheese. Then my two other meals and maybe some string cheese or such as a snack. I'm not able to eat the grains yet. I want to be able to meet my protein goal without my protein drink. What do you all recommend? I currently go to the gym 4 days a week so I'd like to be at the higher end. Yesterday I managed to get 93g with my protein shake (premier protein), so without it it was on,y 63g. I'm assu…

So on the 21th of may, it would be a year since I have gotten the surgery and I have lost all of what I have wanted to lose. I still have a very tiny belly that I would like gone naturally. Any ideas on how to do that?? My diet carried me to this point and then I stopped losing all together which is not a problem for me but what do I do from here on?? Any diet or exercising tips that I can work with at home??

Yep it finally happened I was sleeved 4/4. And I'm still learning my restrictions as some days I can eat something and it's fine and the next day nope. Mainly I'm eating lunch meat and cheese and crab. So today I was thinking oh I'll have some mashed potatoes. I was ok with them previously... today not so much. Two minutes in to two small bites I was running to the bathroom. Oh joy!

I am 17 days post op and haven't lost any weight. I have definitely been consuming less, drinking water, walking. My period has been this last week, do you think that's the reason why? I've read some stuff online about your body holding onto water weight after surgery while it heals, is this true? Although I feel pretty healed; no pain, vomiting, no food or water intolerance, no trouble swallowing. I have a doctors appointment on Tuesday but my anxiety is rendering me into a swallow of depression and I just need to know if anyone else has experienced this?

hi I'm a newbie and I was sleeved 5/20/17. I hear about people on here who have expressed concerns about eating too much and gaining weight post sleeve. How is this even possible? I will be in week 7 this monday and I can only eat a couple bites of food, even if I feel hungry. My concern is that I will never eat properly again, the only thing that doesn't seem to bother me is soup and some fruits. l like the weight loss but I am having regrets, I don't even need to eat a bunch of junk to be happy, even eating a salad or a piece of grilled chicken would be nice, but it makes my stomach hurt, almost everything irritakes my stomach (not excruciating pain, just irritated and…

Its very sore and when i just sat back i had to get my partner to help me up because i couldnt move? Anyone had this before? Should i go back to the doctors? Ive not had hardly any pain at all after my surgery except the first day which was the worst day of my life. The pain so so strong i could barely breath without crying. Had pain for about 2-3 days then nothing untill yesterday with this burning/pulling pain? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. X

I was sleeved on Monday, May 24th. I am 3 days post op now. I haven't had any pain. I had horrible nausea from surgery until last night. Also, I have had gas pains every time I take a sip of water or crystal light. I went to rite aid last night and bought some gas X chewables to help. Hopefully this side effect stops soon. But I'd say with 0 pain I am pretty lucky!
