Weight loss stopped after a couple of days!

I had my bypass surgery on April 11th, and lost about 18 lbs in one week. However, since then, the weight is the same and frankly it's unbelievably frustrating.

Does anyone know why this might be happening?

You gave the answer in your post:

Just calculate how many calories your body must burn to lose 18 lbs and how much of this weight you lost was most likely only water that is now stored back.

you're in the "three week stall". Almost everyone has it - do a search for it on this site

Ahhh thank you! I was wondering why I stalled too.

It happened the second week though.. Kinda de-motivating...

it's not *always* the third week, but it is for most people. I had mine weeks 2 and 3. I started dropping weight quickly again during week 4. Just hang in there and stick to your program. The stall will break.

I'm so glad to hear there's a "three-week stall" because I think I'm there. I think part of mine is constipation, too. I've started taking Miralax in hopes of turning that around. I'm down 22 since starting pre-op liquids, but nothing the past week. So frustrating, even though I seem to be losing inches still. Here's hoping we all see a big WHOOSH soon!
