Just curious how long it took you all to return back to work. I clean houses for a few friends. It's fairly easy I just dust, clean mirrors, vaccum, and the vaccum pretty much pulls it self. I do mop too. How long would it take me to get back to work?

I am a huge Fluid drinker during the day. I'm curious as to how thirsty a person would get post op? I mean, if we're only able to sip small amounts during the day, does that mean you're perpetually thirsty?

Honestly my anxiety is threw the roof with my eating habits. I know I'm not eating as much as I used to before the sleeve. But I'm eating more than I did 3 days post op. I'm so scared to 'stretch out my sleeve' that I'm nervous almost every meal. Does everyone else have this problem? Sleeved

Hey guys!! I got sleeved on 3/19 so I'm a week out and I'm feeling much better, but still get pretty tired after doing too much, and my belly is still pretty tender. I'm obviously still on the liquid diet, but I was wondering if anyone knows any good suggestions for this week regarding what I can have, I've been having boost non stop and to be honest I'm getting pretty sick of it and need new options. Please help! Lol

I said wow have you experienced any stalls she says no and i work out and go swimming all the time with my kids. OK i know we are suppose to support each other and Kumbaya but sometimes if we are honest dontcha just wanna smack em? Lol i immediately just wanted to cry. I'm doing as much as I can and its getting better daily to get close…

So I had my surgery on March 23 and was discharged the next day (yesterday). I have a lot of pain and pressure in my left side, under my ribs and in my chest. Even breathing is uncomfortable at times. Laying flat on my back helps. Sometimes i get pain in my shoulder too (which I've read a lot about). The gas is horrible. Every time I take a drink of water, I feel the air moving around and sometimes it prompts a burp. Other times, it's just annoying and uncomfortable aches. It's also hard for me to get up and down due to the pain where my staples are. I've checked the incision sites and there's no redness or leaking. I thought I would be able to recover quickly because I h…

I had my surgery on 7 Mar 17. A week after surgery I was fine retuned to work and felt good. My 1st day back to work I went home early because I couldn't sit in chair to long so I starting taking half days. Anyway long story short I have not been sticking to those half days(staying all day) and everyday I've come home in so much pain it's unbearable. Now lately I've been having so much pain on left sides where big incision is.. all I can do now is lay down it hurts when I sit on toilet. Has anyone else had this problem before?

I will be post op RNY on April 5th. I woke up tonight with this weird pain behind my ribs on both sides. I took two gasX because it feels like gas pain but the pain isn't going away. It's not like unbearable but it feels like a sore muscle but throbbing when I lay down. Anyone experience this? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I now have to see a kidney specialist to have tests ran on my kidneys because for a couple years my bloodwork shows chronic low sodium blood & high & low creatine. Basically, I have a chronic electrolyte imbalance. From my understanding my surgeon wants to find the source and get it treated and then discuss if gastric bypass will still be okay for me. Has anyone have a chronic electrolyte imbalance before gastric bypass? If so, how was it treated? Did the doctor say gastric bypass would not be safe because of it? I am worried but I know its best to be safe.

5 days post op and going to a party tonight. Of course it's a pot luck party and everyone brings a dish. I have my bottle of crystal light ready. I haven't told any of my friends about this surgery and I don't think I am ready to tell them yet. Is it wrong just to say I am in a diet? Does that make me a bad person for omitting the big truth??

Hello, I made a post a few weeks ago about having nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain and constipation. Had some feedback on it. Since then, I have been to the ER again with those symptoms and I've also followed up with my surgeon two times, the latest being yesterday. When I saw my surgeon yesterday, he said that my latest abdominal x-ray showed that I was still full of stool. He wanted me to go home and do an enema and drink a bottle of Magnesium Citrate (again) to cleanse me out. He told me we were going to try something new (I had been taking Miralax and Milk of Magnesia for constipation). The Miralax just wasn't doing anything for me and the MOM helps me go a …

Hi all, My procedure is coming up and like everyone I will be on liquid and then on purees etc. I have chosen not to tell many people about the procedure and I am expecting questioning for why i am only consuming liquids and not eating - and of course the pureed food etc. Also, celebrations are coming up where food is the centre and i would like to have a good "excuse" for not eating let alone indulging - not eating can be extremely offensive to some as i'm sure many of you can relate to. Could you share some good stories/excuses/reasons that you have told people when they question your "meal" (i.e.: just broth) choices? Thank you!

I am one week post op tomorrow and have convinced myself that I will be "the" one that this won't work for. The crazy part about it is that I know I have what it takes to eat the limited portions (basically forced now) and that I will follow the "rules" but just have it in my head that I've lost all I'm going to lose. Crazy fears! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Ok so I've been searching and googling and scanning forums and I know alllllll about the whole head hunger vs. real hunger vs. stomach acid but really what the heck is going on here? I went from feeling nausea almost all day to severe hunger pains and cramping at night to feeling those pains several times a day after I haven't eaten anything for several hrs. I'm at a loss and SUPER frustrated. My biggest issue pre surgery was saving most of my calories for the nighttime hunger I would get. And when I tried dieting I always failed because I would follow a sensible eating plan all day then in the evening I'd start picking so I wouldn't go to bed hungry and anxious. Now 6 d…

Hey guys! I'm just over 6 weeks postop, on soft foods for another week or so, and suddenly I'm finding that everything I try to eat tastes disgusting. Even things I had no trouble with last week, like scrambled eggs, tuna salad, ground meat and beans--all of it makes me want to gag! I'm having trouble eating enough because I can't get down more than half of my meal, even though my stomach itself isn't protesting. I wanted to cut back on Protein shakes, but I need them to reach the protein goal at this point. Is this some sort of weird psychological thing, or is there a fixable reason this is happening? Thanks

Okay, i am not 2weeks post op from gastric sleeve. I been feeling really down, i never realized how strong my relationship wit food was. Getting full as fast as i do, and still seeing food on my plate sometimes makes me want to cry because all i want to do is finish it! It sounds so crazy i know trust me i know. I wish i wasnt this way, everytime i see a food commercial i have regrets about surgery and i feel ashamed 100%.. because i went into this not even because i wanted to look hotter or anything, im a mom of a 4 year old wit autism that i can barely keep up with and im only 23 years old. I barely enjoy my life as it is being heavy, but food was always something i us…

I'm pretty excited today, I'm officially half way to my goal weight (120lbs/5'2"). I'm down 50lbs (CW 170lbs) and have 50 more to go to reach my goal. The first 50 went so fast, it had been slowing down a lot, but still seeing results. My old clothes are fitting and my pains are gone. Even my Gerd went away, I was nervous that it would get worse with the surgery, but I have no more issues with acid reflux. I can finally have coffee now, but don't need it for energy anymore. It was hard adjusting to these changes at first, but I'm finally at a point where I can say this is the best decision I've ever made (or at least one of them lol).

The last few times I've eaten almost immediately feel like I ate glass. I also have had a strange pain that comes and goes all day under my right shoulder blade/upper back. Not sure if they are related. The stomach pain is not severe, I'm not crying yet but don't really want to breathe. Any ideas?

I'm not 100% sure exactly what's going on with me, so I'm going to try my best to explain my situation. I got the RNY 2 months ago almost to the day (my anniversary is tomorrow) actually and I've experienced struggles like nausea, lack of appetite, etc. which is pretty par for the course so far. My issues with nausea, getting in fluids, Vitamins, and Proteins, etc. had me feeling weak and tired constantly. Having to get IV fluids earlier this week helped put into perspective that I have to do better. My situation was eye opening, but it wasn't particularly scary or traumatic. I've definitely been in the hospital for worse things and I've felt worse physically. But I c…

Hi all--I was just sleeved on march 21st. Surgery went well and I am home recouping. I am supposed to be on clear liquids until the 28th and see my surgeon on the 29th. I can't tolerate the protein powder. I've tried two different kinds in my drinks and all it does is run right through me and give me gas and diarrhea. Sorry for tmi... Isopure drinks make me want to vomit. I would call my surgeon and ask but it might take forever for a call back. I feel very tired and weak. Does any one have any other suggestions? I did pour about four oz of fairlife milk--the one with less carbs and more protein and have yet to have about two oz of it. So far have tolerated it okay. I k…

I am 2 1/2 years out. Weight loss was fast, relatively easy, and for two years was always down. Then something happened and I am now gaining weight - up 20lbs. Yes I am not eating perfectly, but the really scary thing is that I feel like something major has switched. Before if I strayed my weight would go sideways and then easily return its downward direction if I got back to eating right. Plus, my old, life time struggle with cravings and "needs" to eat and deprivation that was so beautifully on hold after surgery, seems to be back and like it was my whole life before surgery. Now no matter how little or much I eat, my weight will at best be flat but more than like…

Im just about 3 months post-op, and I want to get in the habbit of tracking all the food I eat. What is a realistic calorie goal for 3 months? Myfitness pal keeps suggesting 1200, but there is no way. Also add me if you use it, greenem5 I found suggested Macros on a website that says 50%protein, 30%fat, and 20% carbs will promote weightloss. Does anyone else have a macro and calorie goal set?
