Hair loss
I haven't reached that stage yet, but my Dr told me it is inevitable. He suggested I buy Rogaine for men not the one for women. He said it helps a lot with the hair loss.

Scope with a balloon to stretch?
Have you gotten past this stage? Are you able to eat now without feeling like you're having a heart attack?

Anyone else having stricture issues after RNY?
Thank you. I'm going to call the Dr's office tomorrow to explain my circumstance and see what they suggest. It seems like I call once a week lately so they should recognize my name. Lol! PS - Congratulations on your total weight loss. That's incredible. How long did it take to lose all your weight? I need to lose 60 more lbs.

Anyone else having stricture issues after RNY?
I had RNY on 2/9/17. I had my first dilation on 3/8/17. It worked for a couple of weeks, but then I got another stricture. On 3/30/17 they decided to pit in a stint so I wouldn't have to keep coming back in due to strictures. The first day I felt fantastic, but then I had trouble with nausea and diarrhea. Five days after the stint procedure I talked with the nurse and she suggested I stop taking the medication they gave me to prevent gallstones. Apparently the Med can cause symptoms of nausea and diarrhea. I stopped the Med last Tuesday and the nausea has stopped but I'm still having trouble with diarrhea and the food still feelsvlike it won't go down. Has anyone else experienced issues with a stint? I wish I never had this surgery. Not to mention with all the problems I've had I have only lost 24 lbs.

Depression and withdraw.
This is totally normal. I wasn't prepared at all. My surgery was for medical reasons so I did not get all of the pre-op care. I was so depressed after surgery but this forum helped me a lot. MY RNY was on 2/9/17.

Shoot! I think I have a stricture
I've had a couple of strictures. Yesterday the Dr inserted a stint. At first I felt great but now I have that same feeling like the food is getting caught. I'm so sick of all of this. I want to go back to one day pre-op and say no to the surgery.

InThisLife
I had 2/3rds of my stomach in my chest due to a large hiatal hernia. My RNY surgery was done on 2/9/17. The surgery itself went very well and I had little to no pain other then lots of gas. Since the surgery I've had two strictures so the Dr had to dilate during an EGD. Yesterday they inserted a stint so I hopefully don't need more EGD'S. I have not made it past the purée stage yet.

Week4 post op problem eating
Same here, I've had two strictures. The Dr put in a stint yesterday for me. I had my surgery on Feb 9th and I'm still at the puree stage. I'm beginning to wonder if I'll ever chew food again. You should probably call your Dr if your symptoms continue. It doesn't hurt to make a call.

Scope with a balloon to stretch?
I would call the Dr's office and tell them what is going on. I waited 3 days and on the 4th day fluid wouldn't go down so I ended up in the ER. I had to have IV's and a hospital stay until they could do the EGD.

Panic Attacks?
I have terrible problems with anxiety and depression. It took me a year before the doctor could talk me into taking antidepressants. That was quite a few years ago and quite frankly the best decision I ever made. After WLS I had about a week of struggling with anxiety, but it eventually got much better. The therapy session should help you and if it doesn't then you either need to find a different therapist or consider taking the antidepressants. I tried biofeedback at one point and that seemed to help quite a bit. Sometimes it's just a matter of redirecting your mind to happier thoughts. Another thing that has helped since my surgery is coloring. I cannot read due to my lack of concentration right now, but I could color for short stints at a time and it helped me to relax. Just food for thought!
