Sometimes the nose will run out the front, sometimes down the back of the throat. I've been having problems with sinus drainage too. Figure it is allergies.

I had the same thing happen. I woke up and was choking and then I threw up acid. I have never had this happen in my life. It was extremely scary as I felt like I could have choked in my sleep. I have very bad acid reflux and a twisted sleeve. My throat felt awful for two days. The dr gave me a stronger acid reducing medicine and it helped. I also sleep with my head up, never lay down after meals and sleep on my left side.

It's so scary I will try those tips thank you I had to spit up but it was phlegm

My first night post op I slept in a sitting position on the bed. I found it helped with the pain and the gas. It gets easier by the day.
