I'm sure this is a question best suited to the surgeon, but since it's Sunday, I can't call the office until tomorrow, so I'm asking here first I'm having an asthma exacerbation right now and I went to the urgent care, where they prescribed prednisone for 8 days. While these pills can be crushed, they have an absolutely vile taste, and it's much less disgusting to swallow them whole. I'm about six and a half weeks out from my sleeve. Do you think it's okay to just swallow them at this point?

Many people here have stated that they have taken tablets soon after surgery. I started one week post op with my tablets. Can you split them if they are the larger kind of tablet and did you ask when you were prescribed them?

The doctor at the urgent care informed me that I can crush them and mix them into pudding/applesauce if I need to, so I suppose they can be split, although they aren't very big. She couldn't offer any insight as to whether swallowing them would be appropriate, unfortunately I decided I would crush them today (still very yucky, even in pudding LOL) and call the surgeon tomorrow to see what they say. Thanks!

I was allowed to swallow pills as long as they were the size of a small m&m, anything bigger I would split then take. You should be ok

I had surgery on March 14,. They told me not allow to swallow pills for a month.

I was swallowing pulls with in 24 hours after surgery.

Ask your doctor. I can swallow anything around the size of a baby aspirin, but today at my 5 week appt he said to wait for 3 months before I switched to regular tablet vitamins (I was bitching about how awful the chewables are!)
