This is my absolute favorite dressing for salads, for dipping seafood into, etc. I love it and it is so simple. Here is my recipe for a single generous serving. It could probably serve two. 1 tbsp rice wine vinegar 1/2 tsp soy sauce 1/4 tsp sesame oil or a few drops if your container dispenses that way 1/2 tsp jam, jelly, preserves, or marmalade of your choice -- raspberry or orange are my favorites Optional: 1 clove garlic finely chopped, a sprig of cilantro finely chopped, a sprinkling of chopped peanuts, or a dash of hot sauce Mix it all together and pour over your salad or use as a dipping sauce. I have to stop myself from licking the bowl. Around 45 calo…

I have found great success in ordering appetizers as my meal at many restaurants. I love the lesser expensive option along with the mainly Protein choices. A few years ago we started doing what we call "bar food" for Christmas sides and for New Year's. Baked Brie, stuffed figs, chicken lollipops, spiced shrimp... This year my favorite dish was an old family favorite, sausage balls. It's just a pound of ground sausage (I like the spicy), 2 cups of cheddar and 2 cups of bisquick. I subbed almond flour for the bisquick and my family was none the wiser. Mix the ingredients, roll into small meatball sized balls and bake at 350 for about 20-25 minutes (parchment pap…

here is a Protein powder muffin recipe that I tweaked from another recipe I found on here. 1 scoop vanilla Protein Powder (100 cal / 15 G protein) 1 egg, beaten 2 teaspoons cocoa powder 2 teaspoons truvia 1 Tblspoon sugar free liquid French vanilla coffee creamer 1.5 teaspoons almond extract Spray muffin tin with Pam and spoon into 2 muffin cups Bake on 375 for 12 min. These have a good taste, not too sweet, but a little dense since there isn't any flour of baking soda in it. recipe yields 2 muffins, each muffin is around 100 cal and 11g protein.

I take a premier Protein vanilla shake, add 1 t. vanilla, 1/2 t. rum, and sprinkle nutmeg, Shake it all up and YUM! I think it would be better if I could find liquid nutmeg but my small neck of the woods, I can't find it! The colder it is the better it is!

Made this for dinner. My wife hates cooked cabbage and chowed it all down. Makes about 10 servings Head of Cabbage (Cored and roughly chopped) 2 Boxes of chicken or miso broth 1 scallion chopped 1 Tablespoon of minced garlic Turkey sausage sliced Pepper (to taste) Salt (use sparingly, there is a lot of salt in broth, cabbage, and sausage) Kitchen Bouquet (to taste) This comes out as a brothy based Soup. I am ball parking the nutritional information: Calories 120 Fat 4.5 Carb 13 Protein 7.5 I realize this is a little higher on the carbs, but when you are looking for a satisfying meal this might work.

I found this recipe shortly after my surgery in a Martha Stewart magazine and it's become one of my favorite quick meals during the cooler months. The gnocchi is very filling, so I like to make this dish in small ramekins - they keep well in the fridge and are easy to warm up at work for a filling lunch or for yummy dinner if I'm working a late shift. INGREDIENTS 1/2 batch cheese 1/4 cup grated Parmesan DIRECTIONS STEP 1 Heat broiler, with rack in top position. Divide gnocchi among four 8-ounce shallow baking dishes or place in an 8-inch square baking dish. Season with salt and pepper, then top with dollops of marinara sauce and ricotta cheese. Sprinkle…

My husband made these wonderfully spiced sausages. If you're sick of bland food, this adds some nice flavor without being too hot. Ingredients 1 lb ground chicken 1/4 c cilantro 1 tsp chopped mint 1 tbsp fresh squeezed lime juice 1 tbsp Thai Red curry paste 1 tbsp Asian fish sauce 2 garlic cloves finely diced 2 tsp minced ginger 1/2 tsp salt 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes 1/8 tsp black pepper Method 1. Mix all ingredients together. It will be a bit sticky. Let the mixture sit for 30 minutes for all flavors to meld. 2. Heat a saucepan until hot, pour in a tablespoon of oil and spread it around. 3. Using a cookie scoop or a tablespoon, put 1 oz sized dollops o…

Here's the shrimp cake recipe: http://www.skinnytaste.com/2013/05/jalapeno-shrimp-cakes.html Next time I'll leave jalapeno seeds in. It needed some more kick. I'll make it again, but it was pretty messy. Handling shrimp goop isn't the most appetizing. I'm glad my hubby wasn't around for the actual prepping part. I didn't pull out my food processor, an just used my Magic Bullet. This left some big chunks of shrimp, but I appreciated the texture difference. Nutrition info in recipe. This quinoa salad was sooo goood: http://damndelicious.net/2014/04/09/one-pan-mexican-quinoa/ It'll definitely become a regular dinner dish. So flavorful! I did the math this morning and the…

This is a dip inspired by my favorite pizza at Pagliacci pizza in the Seattle area- I recently went back for a slice and realised what I really loved were the flavors of the toppings together, and I could make it at home as a dip! So here's my creation...you can use it as a veggie dip, a topping or filling for chicken or serve with plain pita chips if you are allowing more carbs/further along or have guests/party. 3 heads roasted garlic (yep- heads, not cloves) . Roast yourself with extras for other recipes or buy pre roasted in the supermarket deli section- usually by bulk olives/antipasti. 25-30 cloves should do it if you go that route. 10 ounce log goat cheese …

My husband loved them too so I thought I would share: Ingredients: 3 small whole wheat tortillas 2 (5oz) cans of chicken 2 wedges of Laughing Cow Light Queso Fresco & Chipotle cheese 1 Tbsp Mrs Dash Fiesta Lime seasoning Salsa to taste Directions: Put chicken in a bowl and add seasoning and cheese. Mix well. Spray skillet with cooking spray and add one or two tortillas (depending on the size of your skillet) on medium high heat. Add chicken mixture and a bit of salsa. Allow tortilla to crisp up a bit then fold and flip. This made three tortillas but it could have made maybe a fourth but I kind of stuffed my …

I got my shipment of Torani SF syrups in last week and I'm having so much fun creating yummy stuff. The latest thing is ice cream (ok, it's not particularly creamy but it's delicious). Just made this one... Muscle Milk Cake Batter Protein powder Water Chobani plain Greek yogurt Carmel syrup Hazelnut syrup Blended together in a Blender Bottle and froze. You kind of have to let it partially thaw or use a fork to scrape off the top, but OMG - YUM!! The gingerbread/cake batter/yogurt ice cream was good too. I also started blending Syntrax Matrix vanilla, skim milk and the "flavor of the day" to use as frothy creamer in my coffee. Irish cream and hazelnut are my favs…

I may have cracked this nut!! I am a HUGE iced coffee fan in the summer time. I have been seeing commercials advertising those yummy beverages and have been really depressed I can't ( or should I say should not) indulge! So at home for lunch today I decided to take matters into my own hands and by George I think I've got it!!! I have a Keurig coffee maker and when I had my surgery I got a variety pack of K cup decaf coffee. I am not a huge dark / bold roast lover so I still have a few of those floating around. I popped one into the Keurig and brewed a tall cup. To it I added some stevia, salted caramel SF Torani and skim milk. I poured over ice and I am in HEAVEN!!! It …

I love anything buffalo flavored. Since buffalo wings aren't exactly the healthiest, especially once you've had WLS, I searched for healthy recipes where I could still satisfy my love of buffalo sauce. I got fresh cauliflower and cut it into florets and tossed it in a small amount of extra virgin olive oil and a little bit of salt and pepper. I spread the florets evenly on a baking sheet and baked for 25-30 minutes on 400°. After I removed them from the oven I tossed in buffalo sauce and they were ready to go! Very delish. Obviously not high in Protein but it's low cal and a healthier alternative to wings. Can be served with ranch/blue cheese but I opted against…

I have to say I tweaked an existing Pasta salad recipe to make this. I also did not measure a lot of things, just kind of winged it... I also made what is probably considered a "double batch" as it was for a carry in. It is DELICIOUS!!!! Cook 1 box quinoa ( 2 cups) according to direction. Allow to cool While quinoa cools dice 1 English cucumber, 1 green bell pepper, 1 red onion and quarter cherry tomatoes. ( I used a small box of them) You also need kalamata olives, I purchased already cut. (drain) All of these ingredients were added to taste. I used about 2/3 jar of olives, and the entire amounts of the rest of items. Add all to cooled quinoa and mix. Dressing-…

I know there's a lot of recipes online for Protein pancakes, but I'm not a big fan of cooking and even less of a fan of grocery shopping, so I thought I'd wing it with what I had in the house this morning. I made 1/2 batch of Bob's Red Mill Buttermilk pancakes with 1% milk and added 2 instead of 1 egg and a scoop of unjury Protein powder. It made 8 pancakes...I ate one and froze the other 7 for future "grab and go" microwave breakfasts. I had no syrup in the house so I topped it with a little bit of butter and a pinch of sugar (yes, REAL sugar) with a side of 1/2 sausage link. YUMMY!!! I Am not exaggerating. Or eggsaggerating (apologies for the worst dad joke ever). I have started cooking scrambled eggs the Heston Blumenthal way. I wish I had discovered this early post OP. That said, I can eat two eggs when prepared this way but only one any other way. Eggs, beaten well with a knob of real butter, salt and pepper and a dash of full cream milk in a glass bowl. Place bowl in a pot of water at rolling boil and reduce to a solid simmer. Continue stirring the eggs as they cook. I use a silicon spatula to clear the sides of the bowl. Cook until a creamy goodness is achieved and eat. Divine! It takes a lot longer than traditional scrambled eggs but it is…
